Great Location with fabulous views
There was nothing that my wife and I disliked about this hotel. Quite frankly if you did have an negative comment about this place, then you would be one of those people who are to hard to plead
Beautiful location and property
As I have found all through Europe the quality and attentiveness of the service is inversely proportionate to the cost of the stay... and this place was fairly pricey. We waited over 30 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us on the patio near the bar and we had to get his attention to ask for a drink menu and again to order a €25 cocktail. I had made a dinner reservation a few days before our arrival - specifically for two by the water explaining that it was my one night without children to enjoy a nice meal... and then we were seated at a table between two families with babies and away from the water... the chef came out and talked to all of the Italian guests but never even glanced our way. The meal was good and our waiter was very nice once he realized we were very easy going. At breakfast nobody directed us to the buffet- we had to ask if we could sit at a table... all in all we felt ignored and underserved. The location is very peaceful and the hotel is beautiful... the shower, no matter what we did, ran cold and was so tiny you could not escape the dripping rainshower. The girls at the reception were very nice but the bar and restaurant waiters (with the exception of the sweet Indian waiter we had) all seemed too find us invisible!
Fantastic hotel, steeped with history. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing. Our suite was extremely large and had amazing views of the sea. We ate at the restaurant on both evenings - probably the best food we have eaten and surprised the chef hadn't got a Michelin Star! Would go back again tomorrow! Amazing.
Firstly the property is gorgeous. Secluded, almost suspended over the sea. Our room in one of the towers was large and comfortable. Beautiful big bathroom (although I don't know why designers never give you enough space for toiletries!). Great bed, linens and towels. The public rooms are beautifully furnished and very inviting. Breakfast was very good and accommodating including a smoothie station.
We had a light dinner in the restaurant which was good but not outstanding. We sat in the bar waiting for service quite a while before anyone came along to take our order.
