Cons: The swimming pool is not the best one but with a beautiful beach just in front of the hotel is not really something that you will miss. I believe the price is high but its common to find high prices during summer in Corse.

Cons: The only sour point was the cost, which was right up there. The current exchange rate didn't help of course, but even so we felt it was a tad overpriced.

Pros: This is a beautiful hotel, oozing elegant sophistication. Understated and modern in its decor, from the tasteful flower arrangements to the art adorning the walls and corners. The staff are incredibly friendly whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism, and everywhere is spotlessly clean. This is a lovely romantic destination. Unfortunately, two aspects prevented us scoring the hotel more highly. On reflection, for the price, I would have expected a pool. I know the sea is incredibly close but when the sea is rough, and it was, a pool would have been perfect. Secondly, of course the hotel is well situated for the bars and restaurants as it’s on the Main Street. What wasn’t clear was the impact of noise levels from the same bars and restaurants. If you’re not looking to sleep before midnight, you won’t mind this, but it put us off choosing to stay here again. Equally, we chose the least expensive room (although still expensive). This was on the street side. I’d probably consider paying more for the sea view and a balcony is essential, which we didn’t have bit would recommend. This stretches the budget further yet still leaves you in the midst of the noise of the town and no pool. I hadn't appreciated that breakfast wasn’t included so overall, the cost was for a beautifully clean and spacious room but not much else. A word of warning: we were lucky to secure a parking space but there are only three spaces so you need luck on your side.

Cons: I’d have liked a pool. The sea isn't everyone’s choice for a morning swim, and you need to be careful of the tides/conditions. There are other hotels very locally, with pools and in quieter locations.

Cons: Communication: upon the checkin the recepcionist inform us about the breakfast shedules and location... Without telling us that the breakfast wasn't inclued on the price... Big surprise upon the checkout when they charged us... This kind of informations should be given during the checkin in order to give opportunity to the guest choose... Not after the guest eat thinking that was inclued on the price... After 7days traveling around Corse it was the 1st time that happen... Wasn't cool...

Cons: Just a remark: The apartment we stayed in was on 3rd and 4th floor. There is no elevator in the building, so some people might take it into consideration. Only negative was that at the reception they did not quite speak English, so French was a necessity.

The air conditioner in the room was blowing straight on one of the beds, so we had to turn it off :( but it was quite hot

Cons: Not a good start when you are given linen ( if you pay for it) to make your own bed. Hard to describe, just didn’t feel like a holiday place as our flat was small, very basic & vehranda was in shade all day. Was in a slightly run down area, although complex was well maintained. Was two pools but both were full with no sun beds spare. So therefore the only option was to drive to the beach. Which was lovely. So we moved to somewhere that was next to it. Don’t like being negative, but just wasn’t what we hoped for at all.

Cons: Very difficult balcony door to open, needed to call for assistance. Miles from any decent restaurant. You need to drive 20 mins to Porto Cervo. Worthwhile for the experience, but both aperatifs and dinner expensive, though excellent.

Cons: 1. Parking was limited if you got back to the hotel later in the evening - it was hard to find a space. 2. Breakfast was ok but when we asked for more coffee as the remnants of the ‘cylinder’ were nearing empty and cold, we were told “there’s coffee in there!” 3. On leaving the hotel although we had paid via booking.com, we were presented with a bill. Reception didn’t speak English but after 20 mins of ‘struggle’ the bill was rescinded - although we were still presented with a small bill for ‘Taxes’!

Cons: The receptionist clocks out early and comes in late. We bought food that needed to keep in a fridge and asked if we could store it in their fridges, they agreed and when we wanted to leave we couldn’t get hold of the receptionist and when we did leave there wasn’t any effort to contact us on reminding us that we had left something behind.

Pros: All positive things first. From the outside this old chateau is really beautiful and impressive. The building is surounded by a large garden. The pool is the biggest in L'Ile Rousse. To the the beach it is a 3 minutes walk just accross a small Parking. Personal was very friendly and helpful. They all were from Sweden as the Hotel belongs to a Swedish Group. Breakfirst was very ok for 10 EUR and could be enjoyed inside and outside on the large terrasse. As it was built as a Chateau, the Lobby and the stair case and the rooms are very spacious. The hotel has not been refurbished for decades. Every looks more or less old and used while this is largely compensated by the location and the abundance in space. However, it is a shame how little present Management looks after the hotel. Really repellent are the marble steps of the main entrance. Every day they get a bit more damaged by the Idiot of Laundry Truck Driver who bangs with the steel lifting of this Truck into the fragile marble steps. It is anyway a shame that the Laundry is transported through the beautiful main entrance rather than by the back side of the hotel. My recommendation is 1) Change the Management 2) Change Ownership 3) revamp the hotel and 4) increase the prices by 20%. The hotel would be much more appreciated in the future.

Cons: Stay from 25th to 29th of June 2019. Checked-in at 9pm, one of 2 bedrooms for us and in-laws was in bad condition (#229 2F castle side) : poor condition bathroom, curtain bedroom falling down (not hooked-up anymore), 140cm wide 'double' bed... for a 3 stars hotel we were expecting lot better. Relocated in another normal room, no sea-view room type anymore obviously, we accept another normal double as no other options available. End - up 4 days later with invoice same price as initial booking without any excuse. Had to remind the supervisor the situation and request myself for 1. Invoice revised and 2. Compensation for incident. Disappoiting experience. General comments : bedrooms and building in poor conditions, need refresh and renovation, staff not very professional mostly young backpackers from north europe and no locals resident, breakfast very average and few fruits available, not even bottles of water offered in bedrooms, swimming pool closes at 7pm sharp even after hottest day in France history and got kicked - off without considerations... Average experience not to say poor. We definitely Do not recommend this accomodation.

Cons: Needs millions spent on it to upgrade every aspect of a potentially wonderful property. Plumbing from the 1950’s. Foyer completely taken over by a loud presentation yeti a tourist group. Would hesitate to eat there due to concerns about cleanliness.
