Only issue was the Italian restaurant could not offer a full menu and several items were not available which was very disappointing
Nothing beats a room at the Mandarin - they truly have thought of everything. We chose a room with a view out to the Petronas Towers and fountains too, which was just absolutely iconic.
It was extremely crowded at breakfast. The tables felt too squeezed together, with the waiting staff and the other guests squeezing between the tables to get back and forth and noise levels to match.
Nice pool and great breakfast
Great location, staff and food
I always try out all of the luxury brands during my days off, therefore I have some certain experiences to share and standards to expect ones to meet. This property has not offered the best of its brand but I'm confident that it has potential to improve. Here are some feedbacks for you: Positive: -Grand lobby and lightning system. Nice view. Hotel is old but overall the maintenance is pretty well as water flashing strongly, clean room carpet, fresh smell in the room. Bath amenities are set up generously. Beautiful cultural touch in the room and the hallway with framed decors. -Reservation and room controller did a great job in arranging my consecutive bookings in one room, making the stay so much more convenient and worthwhile. Thank you very much. -Sweets and cakes in the Club lounge is as delicious as the Mandarin bakery brand should be. -Laundry was returned in nice set up. -Bellman approached us and offered assistance with luggage and car arrangement. Thank you. -Beautiful and large Club lounge with cool Pianoman and signature KL view.
Developmental areas: -Lack of luxury element, which is Human touch; Barely eyes contact upon both arrival and departure experiences. Upon departure, eyes contact and conversation were only addressed to the man, while you should have made connection to both. No personal connection at FD such as: "How was your flight?" at arrival, Or "How was your stay with us?" at departure. FD got our passports, therefore names were achieved but they never address us by name. No further assistance was offered before ending a conversation. Bellman and Concierge were available at front but did not open the car door actively. Upon checking in, no explanation was given about the room type, executive lounge benefits. -Assuming service: When at the Club lounge, I was looking for the small folks for fruits and dessert. I had not finished my sentence :"where is the small.." but the person in charge quickly told me: "it's on the table". It was not. The Lounge is large but there was only one associate working during evening cocktails. Therefore service was not properly performed. When we was calling him to inform that we would like to move the table to which he had not cleaned yet, but we only had a chance to say: "excuses me,.." he quickly interrupted our sentence by saying shortly: "I'll be back". The table was cleaned up not thoroughly as glass coaster was left remaining. -There was only 1 trash bin in the bathroom, whereas there should be one for general waste and another one for dirty towels. Reused showercap, it even has a hold and man hair (picture can be sent if you wish). This kind of thing should not be reused. No turn down amenity. -BF buffet is not very impressive. Basically there is no single special connection after a stay. However like I said before, the hotel has potential, and the developmental areas are mainly in soft skills, which can be trained. So hope to see improvements from you in the future.
