Pros: - The sea in front of the hotel was amazing! Staff were really nice, except the one at the reception called Boonyada. - Room was really spacious and clean. - Very good selections of food and drinks. Very nice BBQ at night. - Nice massage area in front of the sea.
Cons: - The staff called Booyada was quite unfriendly. She wasn’t rude but always had her grumpy face on. And she wasn’t helpful at all. I asked her where are all the attractions on the island we should visit. She simply said just to google it. Very unhelpful. - There is no beach in front of the hotel. The photos on booking.com mistakenly showed that there was a beach. But it turned out to be a fake sand area where people sunbath.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Cant complain on anything, except that traveling during the low season, to the island by ferry, and to the resort by truck, was not an ideal choice.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Calm and friendly staffs
Cons: Variety of foods
4,2 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff and nice beach.
Cons: Lack of swimming pool! “Resort “ was partly under reconstruction and therefore there was a lot of mud all over the place. Terrible coffee due to the ancient coffee machine!
10,0 Excellent

The resort itself is absolutely fantastic. Located on The stunning Bang Bao beach the area is quiet and peaceful, with the most beautiful beach you are likely to find. The food was excellent and the accommodation was top class, the location is stunning and the staff are simply amazing. Overall I would give The Beach Natural Koh Kood 10 out of 10.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff of the hotel are very polite, the service is very good, the scenery is very beautiful, we rent a motorcycle and a handsome guy who helps us to drive a motorcycle. It is also very friendly. Thanks to him, I will come again next time. I regret not taking a photo with him. haha
Cons: Everything is perfect

Pros: There was certainly plenty of room around the resort and the pool was very nice. People were helpful and friendly. The outdoor shower did away with the smelly drain issue you often get in SE Asia.
Cons: Furniture a bit old and tired. Probably not for anyone who wasn’t capable of walking very far. It was a bit of a hike from the restaurant back to the room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything, super nice staff, very beautiful rooms, garden, pool
Cons: I would have liked to have a separating door between the 2 rooms of our family bungalow.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice uncrowded resort. Staff great and attentive. Perfect slow season place to chill.
Cons: The bathroom (outside) could use a bit more cover as you get wet using it in the rain. Minor issue though.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This a wonderful location . The resort is on the beach and a 2 minute walk from the speedboat pier . There are several mini marts within a couple of minutes and a large choice of restaurants within a 5 minute walk . Most of them on the roadside . None of them offer the wonderful views of Ban Koh Mak own restaurant. We ate there often . The menus is extensive . Every dish we had was delicious but I particularly enjoyed the chicken and cashew nuts . The prices were very reasonable . On the beach , on the left hand corner is a great Rasta type bar . Happy hour 4pm to 5pm .Make sure you have one of there 100 baht cocktails . All the bungalows have large glass sliding doors and balcony facing sea .The beach has established trees offering , in addition to the tropical effect , shade plus the resort has numerous deckchairs on the beach for guests to use The staff , the owner and his family are very friendly and helpful . We had an excellent stay and having checked out several other resorts we will definitely return to this resort
Cons: Nothing

7,1 Good
Pros: The location is amazing. The second best beach on the island.
Cons: General condition of the main bar and deck. The kitchen seemed not hygiene enough for European standards.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and accommodating personal. Food and drinks are quite good. Atleast as lomg as you stay with the thai stuff. Nice breakfast selection. Plus point on the scooter rental.
Cons: The mosquito net could be longer.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff, sea equipment, coral reff nearby.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Beautiful location and view. Real jungle feel
Cons: I did not like most other things. Bad safety. Restaurant gave me food poisening . Also staff did and didn’t do things you would be fired for in the west.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly and the manager was helpful. The beach bar is great. Nice view of the bay.
Cons: Very dated cottages. Shower was broken. Bathroom was really smelly due to odor coming out of the sewer. We could change rooms after complaining. But the fact that other guests had to stay then in this terrible room didn't make us feel good. It was clear that nothing would be repaired in the future. Additionally the sun bed area gets pretty crowded when the resort is fully booked and the property is building currently more bungalows. Which will lead to even more guests. Not very relaxed stay. The breakfast was even for Thai standards terrible. Served till 10am,when asked at 9am whether food would be filled up at the buffet staff would only bring a couple more items and not the full offer. My husband even got food poisoning - to be expected from the breakfast buffet, as he didn't eat anything else that day. Not surprised as the hygiene was not very high: dirty plates, fruit/butter ect. not cooled...
7,1 Good
Pros: Beach and coctails.
Cons: Very bad smell in the house because of wooden walls. Very far from shop and pharmacy. Very expenensive motorbikes. I had a mouse in the room- bad experience :(.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Resort really clean, staff are cleaning the sea and the beach too. Bed excellent. Shower no power but it is not a surprise on island in Thailand. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good without to be excellent. But no complain there. Excellent stay in general.
Cons: Nothing if you are a tourist and everything is you are a foreigner who lives in Thailand. Prices always shock me but it is because I live here for 25 years. I have to make my mind and I did !
5,4 Okay
Pros: Good location. Nice to be able to rent kayaks
Cons: Rude staff, bad overpriced food at restaurant. Need to rent a moped or stuck there. Seemed like none of the employees cared as probably underpayed
Away Koh Kood Resort - Ko Kut - Bedroom
7,9 Good (392 reviews)
R1 873+
Overview Reviews
Away Koh Kood is the epitome of an island hideaway. The resort features spacious bungalow villas, with private terraces and sea views from every room. The resort has the largest activity center on the island, so guests can enjoy not only the beauty and peacefulness of the resort, but also everything the island has to offer.
7,1 Good
Pros: This place is a paradise! The view is breathtaking! Amazing!!
Cons: The ants! I have got so many bites on my body and worse if you leave anything on the floor or left opened bag of snacks on the floor by morning there would be an entire ants armies in your room.
6,3 Good
Pros: Very kind staff
Cons: Is not a hotel on the beach. Too much expensive for the type of room. The swimming pool is too small and not nice. The hotel is not on the beach but you have to get the kayak to go to beach in front of . You cannot sleep too much because every day is a terrible noise of a boat draining the sea water. Also you can ear rat and bad small come in the room from the toilet tube.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Good located close to to nice Beach which you Resch by Cayak in 1 Minute
Cons: Bungalows are no more in Good condition, bathroom/shower not nice at all, would not come back to this resort, Prices far to high for what you get
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location and pretty much comfortable to stay, super cool staff so friendly and helpful <3
7,9 Good
Pros: The staffs are nice. The view point from the resort is great. There are some activities such as kayaking, diving, fishing. Breakfast is also good.
Cons: The property is quite worn-out. The toilet looks scary in some-point. The door and window of the toilet are rusty. Lights are too dim.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Really sweet staff. The feeling of being so close to nature and the jungle, and at the sametime so close to the ocean. Recommend the ocean front bungalows. Great with the activity center. We loved it here.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms have very nice views and are also very romantic at night, staff is very kkndand friendly and helpfull and location is also very good close to the beach and the river and some lovely food restaurants!
Cons: Food is expensive in the restaurant in the resort and for breakfast when you wake up little bit late and go to breakfast at 9:30 you will get that the fruit juice and the water is not cold and some some products on the buffet will be empty also. Also the pool area is not like expected like on the photo on booking.com it’s very small pool, i think if the resort will ulgrade there pool area and put some more effort in the breakfast this is one of the best stays on Koh Kood for sure

3,8 Mediocre
Pros: what a horrible place, no tv, no double bed, no bananas, the outside shower does not work, etc etc away from it all horrible beach of course, much too expensive for the service run away
Cons: no tv, no double bed
7,1 Good
Pros: The pool is great and houses are located really nice. The food from the menu is good thougd the restaurant is not a very cosy place to sit, very 'clean' and not romantic at all.
Cons: The staff is friendly but most of them do not speak english. The owner is an investor and that is reflected in the policy and way staff acts. For example: they charge extra for a small camping/babybed, we havent experienced that before in a 4 or 5 star accomodation in Asia. Phone and e-mails were not answered for many times when we tried to call and asked questions by e-mail before arrival. Nobody was there when we wanted to check out in the morning, we had to wait for 30 min for the english speaking frontdesk staff arrived. The restaurant is not very cosy. We chose to have dinner at resorts close by because of a nicer atmosphere. Although the food is good.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and quiet resort with a beautiful pool
Cons: Limited services besides the restaurant
7,1 Good
Pros: It was a very nice hotel, clean rooms and sea view from all villas. Nice infinity pool and very peaceful environment, few people.
Cons: It was very far away from the Main Street, you had to go by motorbike to buy water. The beach was not nice, a lot of rocks so you couldn’t bathe from there. The staff was very slow and didn’t pay attention. The lack of English made it hard to understand each other, which lead to a lot of confusion. They were slow in the restaurant and kitchen. They forgot about things a lot! We paid the bill for the whole stay when we checked out and a bit later they came back to us and said they forgot about a bill so we had to pay more. We booked our trip to Koh Kut with them and they kept telling us the taxi/boat was delayed. Once we made the pier we sat there waiting for over an hour and finally a fishing boat came to pick us up... a very unstructured staff. Would recommend to stay at another hotel in Koh Mak.
7,9 Good
Pros: It is a lovely hotel if you want to be by yourself pool is lovely and apartments are clean and Wright on the beach
Cons: The only thing is the location you have to get motor bike or taxi anywhere as it is in the middle of nowhere
4,6 Okay
Pros: The quietness.
Cons: The beach of the hotel is absolutely not nice and there are many sharp rocks in the water. The water on that side on the island is mostly muddy and brown due to the location of the hotel. The jacuzzi did not work, the TV was broken and the food in the restaurant did not taste good. That is also the reason why no guests are there. And you cannot close the doors of your room. Every mosquito and or people can enter your room. Not nice. In the drinking water tube in the bathroom we had for four days sea water and the water was brown. And the shower was cold for 4 days as well. No compensation was offered and refused. And very important: It is not allowed to bring your own food to your hotel room. You are supposed to buy everything in the hotel which is a scam. And only one day before our arrival on Koh Mak we received an email from the hotel that we have to pay the 40.000 THB in cash. Otherwise they charge an extra of 3%. I strongly recommend everyone to book a hotel on the Northern side of the Island. The beaches are much more beautiful and you have various places to eat and drink and relax.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredible - so kind & welcoming, you really did feel like part of the family. The resort is nicely laid out, and the views are lovely - its a great resort for spotting night time wildlife too - hermit crabs, lizards, geckos etc. We loved sitting in the restaurant & watching the thunderstorms rattle across the islands. The villas are pretty & the beds are comfy. The decor is a little careworn, and could do with updating. And the additional tea & coffee making like our other hotels would be nice. But it was clean & comfortable - the outdoor shower was fab, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. There was a coffee machine available in the hotel lobby, and the breakfasts were large & varied. We rented mopeds from the hotel (all well looked after & in good condition), and you need this really to see your way around Koh May, its such a lovely island with hidden beaches, villages and people to talk to. It'd be a shame to stay in one place. We recommend trying the Little Moon villa resort down the road for lunch - great food & a lovely view, and within walking distance. The pool is beautiful & well stocked with loungers & cabanas. I highly recommend you go to Koh Kahm too - its a fascinating place with great snorkelling off a small reef. We chose to kayak across, but there is a boat too. Plus an abandoned resort that looks like it was designed by Dr Evil as a holiday lair - excellent! All in all, a wonderful stay - I look forward to returning to Koh Mak.
Cons: Nothing really, we had a lovely stay. I have noticed other people complaining about sandflies, but we didn't experience any issues - I covered myself in coconut oil like the locals, so that may be why.
