I want aware that I couldn't use a debit card at that location. Had to drive all the way home and back to get a credit card. Lots of construction and traffic. Wasted an hour of time. Very inconvenient. That information should be BIG AND BOLD online.8,8 Very Good

Cons:
Arrived at the airport on time. No one at the desk for at least 20 min. 9:30pm so was in the process of canceling and switching to Avis when he finally showed up. He left the airport to get something to eat......when he knew the flight was arriving. Not a smart move.9,2 Wonderful

AZO is a small airport, i.e. no shuttle needed which is good.Cons:
It was difficult to find the Hertz cars in the dark, so I had to go back to the rental office and a Hertz colleague showed me the position at the parking lot. Maybe it would be a good idea to have the Hertz signs higher up at the parking lot.Budget

The car was super clean and had all of the amenities that an out of towner would need. The service in Kalamazoo was super fast and easy. The service professional was very friendly and communicated well. She did however tell me that she was positive driving from Kalamazoo to Detroit would need half a tank of gas so, per her advice, I pre-purchased the half tank of gas. I actually used not even 1/8 of the tank. But the good news is that the professional at drop off in Detroit verified my gas use and refunded me the rest!7,2 Good

Car wasn't fully clean at pickup. Smelled like a smoker had rented previously. Was not informed of disabled auto side doors on van until midway through week long rental (turns out there is a recall that wasn't fixed yet-- would have been nice to know doors wouldn't work when signing off on rental). Key fob stoppped working midweek. Had to call roadside assistance to get car fixed.Easirent
