If they are going to give you an EV instead of what it said on the reservation, they need to give instructions. Finding charging stations was difficult and cost us money and time. Not happy at all!

I think I was fooled into paying that ~$23 for a car with gas. I did not use very much gas at all in the <24hrs that I had the car and the gas prices were so cheap in Michigan. I honestly probably used less than $8 worth of gas. I am from California so I did not know any better, I guess.

The staff was friendly, efficient, and did not try to pressure me to purchase services I did not want or need. His instructions for finding the car wete good.

Cons:

Bevause of Covid19 thete were few customers and many cars in the return area. The signage told me to park in an area already filled, the signs should have been moved. However the one employee in the return area was very busy with many things to accomplish. I got it figured out fine.

Service at the counter was great, but hours of service didn't match service. I arrived at 12am, no one was there. So I have to take a lift to my hotel, and a lift in the morning back to the airport to pick up my rental. When I share this info with the person at the counter, she say...next time give us your number and name and someone will be here waiting for you. Good to know, that info should be communicated to the customer before hand. So the customer doesn't go through much trouble.

The first car we were given at the hire point was very dirty and internally had a strong cannabis odour. On advising the staff they were apologetic and helpful however it baffled me that the vehicle could be sent out to hire in the state it was. Given we had a 12 hour drive ahead of us it was implausible that we could be subjected to the stench of the car for that long. Further as we were returning to Australia there was also a risk that our luggage could also become compromised through contact with whatever substances had been used in that car putting us at risk when trying to clear customs. The attendant said the previous driver would be charged additional cleaning costs. This begged the question if I had not said anything at point of hire then I would have been subjected to the cleaning cost. Altogether a very unacceptable experience.

Being disclosed about the deposit and them preferring credit cards would be great. My credit card had gotten stolen so I only had a debit on me and was charged a $500 deposit because of that. Of course you get it back, but it’s an inconvenience. My plane landed late, they gave away the car I originally booked… I was only 30 mins late to pick up. The line itself was long so I spent another 10-15 mins waiting which is fine ! But just to say, it’s odd they gave away the car I booked so quickly. Whatever. At least I got a car, but it still was far from a smooth experience.
