Cons:Upon being tickets there was no information about pre-buying luggage, Check in was a mad house. The check on attendant was tired and already frustrated training a new coworker so she showed him how to be rude to customers...US (he later apologized for her, she never did). Luggage cost us $900 AUD for 4 back packs (more than the tickets). The flight was over 1 hour delayed. Boarding was not organized - just a free-for-all so by the time we did board there was no overhead storage. Water, soft drinks, coffee and tea were offered - for $3 to $4.50 I hated everything about this experience and I will avoid Jetstar for the rest of my life - there is too many other options to give them my patronage again.

Pros:I thought the check-in desk team was excellent, helpful and very polite. The boarding process was very efficient, and the planes were very clean. The seats were very comfortable leather seats, with the amount of leg room you would expect.
Cons:The onboard food options were underwhelming....Top Ramen cup of noodles was the only option from Sydney to Cairns, despite the options listed in the seat-back brochure. Also, Jetstar charges heavily for baggage, much more than I was used to on American carriers, so be sure to read the fine print and weigh your check-through and carry-on luggage carefully.

Cons:We were charged $215 at check in to check our luggage because we hadn't "ticked" that we'd be bringing luggage when we purchased our tickets. We purchased our tickets on Kayak and never were we warned or even been informed that this would be the case. The fee for baggage turned out to be $70 per bag plus $15 per Kg for each Kg over 15 Kg. Which is absurd. Any regular flight allows bag up to 23 Kg before additional charges. This is extortion. Yet there was nothing we could do unless we wanted to leave our bags in Queenstown.

Pros:After our long and horrendous delay of the flight from Honolulu to Melbourne, we were relieved that this flight back was on time. The plane was comfortable.
Cons:At least the offer of a free drink and snack on the 10.5 hour flight.
