Pros: The lovely room was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. Breakfast was great with high quality pastries and homemade jam.
Pros: Very friendly people. Clean room and lovely old house with nice interior. I recommend it.
Cons: The stairways. But it’s a minor inconvenience.
Pros: Friendly staff and great service, good breakfast, very original house!

Cons: Nothing. All excellent
Pros: A hidden gem in Châteauroux, beautiful house with a very spacious family room in the centre. Lovely breakfast. Highly recommended
Pros: Very nice staff really interested and helpful. Very nice room more than enough space very clean everything was amazing. Nice place in the middle of the town with bars and restaurant close to the ‘chambre dotes’ Safe parking underneath the house

Cons: Not easy to drive to without a good satnav
With a stay at La Soierie in Chateauroux, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Museum of the Cordeliers Convent and Hotel Bertrand Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely owner was very welcoming. Room and meal were perfect. Highly recommended
Pros: Overnight stop on travels, wished we could have stayed longer
Pros: We had an evening meal on the evening we arrived, which was excellent - as was breakfast the next morning.
Cons: I can't complain about anything - they couldn't have been more helpful.
Pros: The supper, with all the guests. Cooked and served by the lovely family
Cons: The pool was freezing !
Pros: welcome, dinner and breakfast were all excellent.
Pros: Excellent hosts. Beautiful location. Breakfast and dinner cooked by the owners and was delicious.
Cons: Everything met our wishes and expectations.
Pros: staff was lovely and helpful.
Cons: our room was in a pretty busy spot, by the entrance door, where people gathered to smoke. In hot weather you need to keep terrace doors slightly open thus noise or smoke could come in.
Pros: Breakfast was of good quality, location a little out of the way but nice and quiet.
Cons: for such a short overnight stay, nothing.
Just two minutes from the railway station, Best Western Plus Hotel Colbert is housed in the refurbished buildings of the Tobacco Factory, which contributed to the growth of Chateauroux in the 19th century. Take your family to visit the Bertrand and Cordeliers museums, where contemporary exhibitions will give you an insight into art and the past. For a refreshing taste of nature, make the most of the extensive grounds which surround Chateauroux and the lake of Belle-Isle to the north of the town, where you can swim and enjoy a variety of water sports. The Best Western Plus Hotel Colbert is the ideal place for your business meetings and holiday breaks. The 74 air-conditioned rooms and suites with designer decor offer the very latest in comfort, technology and services: satellite TV, Canal +, free Wi-Fi Internet connection, flat screen, direct telephone line and minibar. Here you can relax and unwind before making your way to our restaurant, 'La Manufacture', whose cuisine is centred around three basic elements - 'le pain, le vin et la broche' (bread, wine and the spit-roast) - and where a wide variety of wines are served by the glass. Two soundproofed lounges are available for group events of up to 100 people.
Pros: Very convenient, good value for money and very pleasant and helpful staff.
Pros: Room was very small. Location not great outside the town. Food was only reasonable but all staff were very helpful
Cons: Room and food
Pros: Very comfortable bedroom. Delicious breakfast and secure parking. We arrived later than expected but still had a very enjoyable meal in the dining room and the staff were lovely.
Pros: This was a return trip after two weeks in Spain and we knew from our last visit that the hotel was internally modern (apparently according to staff a converted tobacco factory completed in 2006 and also part of a regional administration block) and offered a good reasonably priced restaurant. At breakfast the owner was on duty and I complimented him on the quality and range of the breakfast offering - he had apparently worked in the USA and said this meal was important to him and hence the range of food.
Cons: The on-site restaurant- we had a veal medallion cooked in a whiskey sauce with vegetables for €18 a good steak also on offer at €22.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. We can only recommend this hotel. We were traveling with our nine month old and everything went great.
Cons: We have stayed here before, and as in the area we chose to do so again as it had been a good experience. On arrival we waited in reception for over 5 minutes until we realised nobody was coming. There was no note or bell to ring, so we hunted for someone to book us in. The room was okay, and we looked forward to dinner having spent the day travelling. What a disappointment - the food wasn’t a patch on what it had been before and we did not consider it value for money. The Cafe Gourmand was three very small pots of mousse at a 2 Euro supplement. The next morning at breakfast we found one of the staff quite rude. We arrived in the breakfast room at 8:45 expecting a full complement for breakfast. My husband wanted a cooked breakfast and there were small omelettes, bacon and scrambled egg available. Having looked at them, however, the scrambled egg was nearly finished and what was left was completely dried up and inedible as was the bacon. My husband asked if they could cook some more and was told very brusquely that it was finished. He questioned how this could be and was again told it was finished. My husband then asked her to cook him some more and she relented. I can’t believe cooked breakfast was finished at this time, as at least 4 other groups of guests came down to breakfast after us. Disappointingly there was also no orange juice available for at least half-hour. We won’t be stopping here again.
Pros: A clean modern hotel with comfortable rooms and beds. There is a car park and a lift. The staff were welcoming. Breakfast is good as is the restaurant for dinner. We didn't see any reasonable restaurants within easy walking distance so booking a table is advised. The hotel is situated about 15/20 minute walk away from the center. Only real downside was that although we checked in at 16:00 hrs our room wasn't ready.
Pros: Excellent value for money and comfortable room. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was very good and the bathroom towels were very fluffy and large. Bed very comfy and parking easy.
Cons: Common areas a little bit cold

Pros: Breakfast was good Room was adequate size Everything looked well maintained
Pros: Easy to access, fast check in and friendly personnel. Rooms are the right temp and beds comfortable. Toiletries are provided and linnen/towels are always clean.
Cons: Nothing so far.
Pros: Pet friendly, clean and very close to A20 without being noisy. Reasonably good breakfast selection.
Cons: To much noise from the vending machine below my room 2 floors below so I do not know how level 1 & 2 slept
A stay at Le Continental places you in the heart of Chateauroux, within a 15-minute walk of Hotel Bertrand Museum and Museum of the Cordeliers Convent. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage.
Pros: A very pleasant and extremely helpful host who arranged vehicle hire and taxis for us
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful
Cons: Hotel was good for the price paid, with exception that only a couple of days before arrival I was notified by mail that on the arrival day the restaurant was closed, this being the main reason to stay at a Logis Hotel because it had a good cuisine rating. The manager on duty was extremely friendly and helpfull and took me to the railway station with all my lugage the day of departure. Hotel was OK even if no lift.
Pros: comfortable room friendly staff and excellent food . Excellent location.
Pros: Outstanding service alongside the owners attention to detail make this a very nice hotel to stay in. The rooms are comfortable, the bathroom was immaculate and we were well looked after in the bar! Breakfast was straight forward but delicious. We were passing through Chateaureux as we drove to the Dordogne region and wanted somewhere to stay for one night. This hotel is not a tourists hotel but a little gem nonetheless.
The Ibis Châteauroux hotel is located in the heart of the shopping district, in the town center, 5 minutes from the station. We offer 60 practical and comfortable air-conditioned rooms with free WIFI and satellite TV (French and foreign channels). There i s a private paying underground car park (maximum height 6.6 ft [2 meters]), 3 conference rooms for meetings, a bar and a 24-hour snack service.
Pros: Nothing at all, apart from secure parking which we had to pay for anyway.
Cons: Whilst we appreciate that this was a dog friendly hotel, we did not expect the room to smell very strongly of dog. This was completely overpowering and totally unacceptable. Therefore a very unpleasant experience. The breakfast was poor , even for an Ibis. Breakfast staff were miserable. Central location but not an easy hotel to drive to because of one way systems. Would not return there again.
Pros: A pleasant little town to wander around and stretch the legs when making a long journey through France. Very easy to rejoin the autoroute the next morning too. Very secure parking in the basement.
Pros: Good location. Nice staff.
Cons: Has car park but entry to car park very tight and difficult.
Pros: Clean fresh rooms. Helpful staff. Secure underground Parking. Central location.
Cons: Slightly odd, as you enter via a flight of stairs into a run down shopping mall. But once you're inside all is fine. Common areas such as corridors could do with a facelift.
Pros: No restaurant but has arrangements with 6 local restaurants - the Indian was good and spoke more English than my French - slightly odd arrangements of the reception. It's on the 1st floor and no obvious way to get to it (although we just drove into the safe - and well-marked - underground parking, lifts from there). To get to the restaurants and the street you go down a lift or stairs, you need to get a code to re-enter the door of the lift to return. It all works, you just need the helpful receptionist. Steet outside very noisy, but it was a Sunday night so maybe should have expected a party in town.
Cons: The receptionist didn't really explain how to get back when we initially went out to suss the restaurants, had to buzz from the underground car park to walk down to its lift - but the second time she was so helpful.
Pros: Great location, centre of town, good bakery next door for breakfast.
Cons: parking is fine, but very tight underground car park
Pros: Staff friendly,a fast good
Cons: There weren’t any handrails in the shower, hazardous for the elderly or infirm

This hotel has facilities measuring 344 square feet (32 square meters), including a meeting room. Pros: You need a bed for the night ? This hotel is perfect ! Basic, no frills but a good price, and very pleasant owners who are happy to help.
Pros: Lovely easy place to find. Helpful staff. Very comfortable, clean room.
Cons: The driveway, which needs some attention. Especially when arriving in the dark. Says it has a restaurant but in low season this is just tray foods, however a little drive away there is a good choice of restaurants.
Pros: Very friendly checkin staff. Great communication. Location and price. Bedroom had a modern air conditioning unit.
Cons: Run down exterior. Dated interior.
Pros: We could sleep in a family room (double plus bunk bed) as 2 adults, 2 children and baby. The beds were comfortable and the staff were very helpful and responsive.
Cons: It's basic but good value.
Pros: Okay for overnight
Pros: Everything was fine bearing in mind the price. Good to see alternatives to croissants and bread and cereals for breakfast. I had eggs, cold meat and cheese as I can't eat cereals and sugar etc.
Pros: Excellent breakfast - good value. Easy parking. Only a short distance from town. Ideal location for us for a one night stay on way back from Pyrenees.
Cons: Bathroom - a bit small, dull lighting, shower curtain! A liitle bit 'tired' overall but appears to be being dealt with.
Pros: Breakfast was very good. We did have a problem finding hotel but maybe my fault just it was off the beaten track.
Cons: Nothing really except finding and was 10 mins from motorway
Pros: It was clean and the staff helpful and friendly
Cons: Location - the hotel is several miles from Chateauroux. The nearest restaurant is a 10 minute drive. There is a restaurant on site but you need to book in the morning and I. The evening even though there is technically a bar, there were no staff to man it.
With a stay at Christina in Chateauroux, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Museum of the Cordeliers Convent and Hotel Bertrand Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Easy to find, plenty of parking. Reasonable breakfast.
Cons: We arrived late afternoon to find the hotel closed with a handwritten note on the door giving a phone number to ring. Despite analysing the numbers carefully we were unable to make contact, getting a number unobtainable notice each time. We were only saved by someone coming out who rang the receptionist for us.
Pros: The breakfast, the staff
Cons: The first room we received didn't fit for our family, there were a shower and no bath tube (we have little babies). The room smelled cold tabaco and the shower's door was broken. The room's temperature was too high in the room and we coudn't fix it.
Pros: Ok for a night parking great
Cons: Shower on small size, tap system takes up a lot of cubicle space
Pros: Convenient location for overnight stop with large car park. Good breakfast.
Cons: A bit rundown although evidence of ongoing work to improve it.
Pros: The breakfast was very good and the beds were comfortable. The parking was also good.
Cons: The hotel could do with a bit of an uplift. The carpet on the stairs was a bit worn and the staff could smile a little more.
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: The bathroom
With a stay at Le Boischaut, you'll be centrally located in Chateauroux, within a 10-minute drive of Hotel Bertrand Museum and Museum of the Cordeliers Convent. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Price was low, should have known!
Cons: Location, no one on reception, i had to call the hotel! I could hear everything in every part of the hotel! I would never go there again, for any price. I asked if they had any bottled water, the receptionist just shrugged his shoulders, I took that as a no!
Pros: Receptionist was extremely friendly. The bed was comfortable and very clean sheets. Big room. Massive private car park in the back. Good value for money.
Cons: The electric heater in the bedroom wasn't working. The room was pretty cold. The thermostatic tap in the bath was blocked and on maximum. Good for a bath but too hot for showering.
Pros: I had very good sleeps. Staff pleasant and friendly
Cons: Breakfast felt measured out with each guest being allocated 3 mini bakery items. No choice of an extra pastry or 2 of same kind rather than the 3 being imposed. Evening meal disappointing - lukewarm pasta, bread and cheese less than fresh.Part of payment taken well in advance with no choice of refund. No hairdryer is available in this hotel.
Pros: the food was good value for money, the staff very friendly
Cons: sound insulation between rooms tv not working
Pros: friendly, comfortable,well designed, nonpretentious
Cons: little technical problems with tv connection not working, also a better sound insulation would be good...
Pros: Free parking was good in the locality. Location reasonable and easy to find.
Cons: No air conditioning or even a fan. Very basic supplies. Both basin and shower needed repair.
Pros: Very clean and good value.
Cons: Check out is 11:30 not 12:00, I was disturbed at 10:30 buy the cleaner who wouldnt undestand that I didnt want her to clean till Id left as I wasnt ready. At 11:30 the lady at reception came to say I had to leave right now and not 12:00. At breakfast it was implied that Id taken a tray and not returned it by the lady looking after reception. The tray was right infront of her.
Pros: The staff were welcoming and attentive to our needs. The hotel was very quiet and we appreciated it's location in the town.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
