Friendly staff, complimentary valet parking, sea view balcony, clean and spacious room, pretty gardens!
Quiet and clean
Rental towels for the pool
We were in the coral wing with the view of the sea. We usually went to the beach in the morning, lunch in the buffet restaurant, dessert in the lounge, And then swimming pool in the afternoon, sometimes a snack in the little shop. The hotel could provide all we needed for a lazy holiday.
The little stones on the beach are annoying when barefoot. The queue for breakfast could be long, we were not used to the idea of having to queue for breakfast. But then it is probably just for the peak season.
Clean, easy to walk around the resort
I enjoyed the breakfast choices however their coffee was just ok. I liked the warm indoor pool. And their suite which however could not be offered to me until my check out and was reimbursed with points. To me it would have made a big difference if we were allowed to keep the suite for the entire duration of our stay especially since we are Ambassador members and we pay extra for these things but this is always the case with Intercontinental: they cannot offer an upgrade or will not offer for the entire duration of stay. Other than that...unless you have a suite, the rooms are boring and old fashioned. Everything is bland and impersonal. It is, as usual, too expensive for the standard but this is how it often is in Japan.
I didn’t like the beach where you cannot just walk or swim like on a normal beach...everything is fenced around like a pool for animals...it is discouraging already when you look outside the window and see the small “fenced” swimming area. Kids were everywhere...this is less relaxing...the hotel is a family hotel.
There are many leisure facilities to fulfill your vacation, and you can enjoy walking, year-round garden pools, treatment spas, indoor pools and short golf. It is also famous as a resort known as the first starry sky reserve in Japan. You can also visit other islands within about 30 minutes by ferry, which is a convenient base for traveling around the island.
