Lago Di Iseo is a nice little low key town. Balcony
We have used this hotel on about 5 occasions - we like the lake-side town and that the hotel has a small swimming pool. However, each year the price goes up (not in itself surprising) but there has been no obvious investment in the hotel. This year we paid around £180 for 2 adults and one child for one night (including £30 for breakfast) - a substantial amount of money for one night in a hotel that badly needs decorating. This is a poor '3 star' hotel which could be wonderful with some tender loving care. Our 'triple room superior' had one double bed and two single beds - one at the end of our double bed which meant the room had hardly any floor space. The toilet seat in the bathroom was cracked, the paint on the bedroom walls are scuffed, the carpet needs replacing and the pool needs to be cleaned and re-painted. The breakfast this year was also disappointing - for instance no muesli and no fresh fruit (though there was apple slices) and the cheese selection was mediocre - processed tasteless bright orange sliced cheese has no place on any buffet - shame considering the amazing cheeses that Italy has to offer.
Room was clean, but nothing special. Location was fair. Near to great restaurants, ferry and town. We took a lovely walk along the lake and shops.
Worst indoor pool I have ever seen. Paint and rust flaking off the walls, don’t be fooled by the pictures. Staff are moody and disinterested. Lack of lighting in the hotel made it feel dark and unwelcoming. Why don’t they just keep the lights on? probably struggling for money.
One of the staff at reception in the morning was very obnoxious. We went out the hotel just for taking a walk in the morning, and she (reception cleark) sent a skeptical look at us and stopped us in a skeptic voice. She seemed to doubt that we would leave without cheking out (paying).
Location and decor
Air condition got stuck on cooling so had to be switched off until morning following day. Had to change the room upon arrival as our bathroom was smelly. The lady receptionist needs to go for a customer care course. The elder male receptionist was helpful in changing our room.
There was no privacy, cleaning personnel started at 8 no silly and was rushing through our "private" balcony. This hotel is not sound proof at all. Left 3 days early.never again
