Slightly tired bathroom and dirty grouting. Needs renovating. Room smells a bit - bring a room spray
Spacious (by Hong Kong standards ) and very quiet suite, homey atmosphere, spotlessly clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, nice hill-view from the room, wonderful panoramic view from the restaurant. What I personally like is wood-like material of the suite floor. It looks modern and it's much healthier than traditional carpets.
The tea at the breakfast. For this price one can expect a choice of high quality tea-bags. Instead of it there was one pot for all the guests with three Lipton tea-bags cooked on a slow fire during all the breakfast time. It's a habit of cheap hostels, so we were disappointed to see this petty economy in such a good hotel.
Some members of the staff were very professional
The huge deposit required
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good, great position for visiting the fair and cultural areas, I would stay there again.
£15 for breakfast is a little too much.
We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was a perfect little hideaway with a closet and drawers, living room, dining area, kitchenette and a lovely bedroom with a great curved wall of windows. Everything was neat and clean and pretty and the staff very welcoming and attentive even though a large wedding party was underway on our arrival. The breakfast buffet is worth every dollar, served in a beautiful room, with a great spread including smoked salmon served with capers and chopped onion, and a nice young man making bespoke omelettes. Enjoy a bottomless cup of coffee in overlooking Mid levels with even a peek of the Harbour between the highrises. The neighborhood is profoundly residential. There is a tuck shop in the 8th floor lobby and a gas station convenience store across the street for Pringles and such, but a leisurely stroll to dine and shop is not on the cards up here on McDonnell Rd. One can walk down to Soho and Central, or maybe use the Mid Level Escalator going down in the morning, or take a leisurely walk down through Hong Kong Park, or in the other direction, west, through narrow streets made of stairs - but otherwise one relies on cabs - especially for going up! Any cabdriver knows where the YWCA is - right across the street from this apartment-hotel. Since the hotel is set back in a courtyard, and the Lobby is located on the 8th floor, it may almost be better to give the address for the Y first time around. Two drivers drove right past the courtyard entrance, but we could say, "stop" and get our by the gas station and go in. .A great stay for a longer visit, too, very peaceful.
