The 5* Tivoli Firenze Palazzo Gaddi, formerly known as NH Collection Firenze Palazzo Gaddi, is located in the heart of Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Formerly the residence of aristocratic Florentine families, the hotel offers close proximity to all the city’s key cultural highlights including the Duomo complex, Piazzale Michelangelo and San Lorenzo market. It also offers easy access to transport links, positioned only minutes away from Santa Maria Novella railway station and a 20-minute drive from Peretola Airport. The hotel offers 86 elegant rooms, individually designed in elegant combinations of traditional and contemporary style. There is a range of suites to choose from, including a penthouse apartment with private elevator access and panoramic views of the city. Each room features either a bathtub or a rain effect shower, and complimentary Wi-Fi is included as standard. Guests can dine al fresco in the hotel’s garden restaurant which serves a range of local and traditional Italian cuisine, while the rooftop terrace provides the perfect space for a glass of Italian wine as the sun goes down. Pros (+) Its a good location, theres a view of the Duomo from the roof, and the breakfast room is very grand. When i booked it was the cheapest of the centrally located. Some staff helpful.
Cons (-) The room smelled of smoke for the whole trip. Lots of wear and tear. I booked without breakfast. At check-in receptionist told me breakfast included. I said that it was not included. She checked computer and insisted it was included at no charge. At check-out the same receptionist made me pay for breakfast, and told me she had never said it was included. Pros (+) We booked two superior/deluxe rooms. They turned out to be adjoining rooms. One room had about 5 huge windows which offered a panoramic view of Florence including the Duomo. The other room had a huge terrace, complete with a table and four chairs, which also overlooked the Duomo. We could not have asked for better rooms!
