Pros: Its position to Vienna was perfect! You travel just far enough that you're escaping the city while remaining close enough that it's not a journey of burden. The hospitality was completely unmatched to anything we're used to experiencing in Austria. The ambience is relaxed, unpretentious but classy, clean and more or less immaculate. The food, crafted with local ingredients, is memorable, delicious and varied enough that everyone can be happy! Desserts (and breakfast offerings) were especially wonderful. The spa facilities were clean and a visual delight. Wading into the heated outdoor pool in the evening or early morning, watching as the steam rises into the air, was truly relaxing. Everything has a super personal touch that we'll remember fondly for a really long time. The staff were just fantastic from the check-in counter to the handyman. They were able to accommodate a very last minute massage treatment request which was so, so appreciated. The little signs with our names and the daily suggested itineraries on our table at breakfast were excellent. The devil really is in the details here!
Cons: The one and only negative thing I would need to say is that the beds were really not comfortable at all. The pillows were like thin sheets of fabric and this was depressing because both nights we didn't sleep well despite how relaxed the rest of the experience left us feeling. Because sleep is so important on a wellness retreat, we were disappointed by this. It could also be a matter of personal preference but all in all the mattress/pillow were a letdown. This is absolutely the only reason we'd ever hesitate about staying again. But admittedly, this likely won't stop us!
Pros: The food was excellent and the staff were really friendly. The spa and pool were superb.
Cons: All good
Pros: We liked everything -staff, hospitality, spa, cuisine, especially the five course dinner menue, excellent! Always ready to help, provide us with coffee machine as we were leaving early in the morning.
Pros: Staying at this hotel was a short escape from the daily routine. The hotel is run by a nice and really accommodating family. A visitor will see the family in action on all hotel functions; Meet and greet at the restaurant during breakfast, lunch and dinner. At the reception. At the bar. Always making sure that the guest is satisfied. This was our experience; We were greeted by a rather friendly receptionist, and even though our German was enough to read the menu or order at the restaurant, the hotel made sure that the menu is in English and all information also in English :) Another experience we had that we liked was the hotel newspaper; Every day at the breakfast the guests are given the newspaper that informs them about activities and things to do during the day including a weather forecast and some area trivia (really nice touch, we loved it!) Food was great made mostly from local produce. The light lunch, cake and tea (included in the half board price) were also a nice touch to keep us light for the pool and the spa :) We've been in many hotels in Austria the past 6 years, this one definitely belongs to the top 3 we have been! We would definitely stay there again, longer.
Cons: The only negative thing I can write about is that the hotel is right next to the fire station. That means that in case of an emergency there might be noise during night. During our stay there was one incident that lasted maybe a minute. On the positive side though, it was an opportunity to see how the fire brigade goes on to save lives!

Pros: As well as great facilities, spotlessly clean and spacious rooms and a breakfast fit for champions, what really made our visit special was the kindness and friendliness of the owner.
Pros: The hostess was very welcoming and informative about local activities, restaurants, shops etc. We were in a self-catering apartment, which was very well equipped, each morning we found freshly baked cakes outside our door, which were all very good. Little extras like bathrobes for the pool, lovely terrace furniture, which we unfortunately could not use because of the rain, ample towels and good quality shower gels.
Cons: It was very close to a main road which was unexpected. Although it was not busy all the time, we had to close the window at night because of the noise of HGVs trundling past from time to time.
Pros: Good beds, stunning garden with tables everywhere, nice little pool with umbrellas and toys, great location in bad gleichenberg and very close to a lot of nice sites. Recommended! Wonderful owners!
Cons: The oven did not close and it was hard to get the swim clothes to dry in the apartment.
Pros: The food, the location, and the attention to small details.
Cons: All was great.
Pros: Everything was great! The house and garden is beautiful and quiet. Apartments are comfortable and clean, with everything you will ever need. Breakfasts are must — at comfortable time, homemade, absolutely fantastic. Stayed longer than planned. Thank you, Christine, for a warm welcome!
Cons: There were none.
Pros: Family friendly, beautiful furnished and extremly host. Many thanks Christine

Featured amenities include a computer station, express check-in, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: All services are at the high level. Room, restaunt, all facilities fully as per expectations.
Cons: Regulations for the saunas in the central building and near swimming pool are not as per my understanding. Facilities nearby the swimming pool have to be open for all without restriction to use only nude style. For nude there is a separate sauna in the hill.
Pros: Return visit after two years and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Some new features like the enlarged outdoor jacuzzi and a enhanced outdoor snack and drink area mixed in with the many pools, seating and relaxation areas both inside and out. No problem if the weather is mixed here. We were given a refurbished balcony room overlooking the pool area, very comfortable with huge comfy chairs! Breakfast was plentiful and very varied right up the end of service, including local and vegan options. We ate dinner in the town, the Delikaterie outstanding again, so can't comment on the six course meals that are offered and choiced during breakfast. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and quiet, we walked previous favourite routes and tried new ones to the rear of the hotel, maps available at reception. Popped in to see the lady up the hill who sells honey. The Zotter Chocolate Factory in Riegersburg is about 25 minutes away and the tour is fantastic, never seen so much chocolate to see and taste with no hurry up to leave! We love this place and will return again!
Cons: The room we were given was above the entrance to the restaurant and main house so there was quite a lot of activity at start and end of day as the staff came and went. Not a disaster though.
Pros: It was a real castle and I felt like a princess!
Pros: The bed was really comfortable and therefore the sleep was excellent.
Cons: The food was basically good, but the salad bar could have more of field salads varieties.

Pros: Very cozy atmosphere and a wonderful owner. Photos here don’t really reflect the quality of the hotel and its surroundings. This is one of those special places that are today slowly disappearing, unfortunately.
Pros: I have a big apartment with kitchenette and all equipment. It is very peaceful place where you can walk in the nature.Near are Therme der Ruhe. The peace and nature are perfect to rest.
Pros: Very friendly, helpful and kind personal. Apartment for 4 persons is so comfortable, nice and clean. It is really feels like home, not a hotel with it's poor disposable staff, but place with it's own character and history.
Pros: Location, conditions and the hospitality.
Pros: Amazing breakfast and a super friendly and fair owner. Rooms are also very spacious and luxurious.
Cons: It seems like they have a problem with the internet so be ready for that...
Pros: Great and friendly hostess. Rooms good sized. Kitchen well equipped. Location good, easy walk to the centre of Bad Gleichenberg.
Cons: Everything was excellent. Good value for money
Cons: They dont use emails frequently. Asked for earlier arrival than got stuck at airport. Write to not wait for me(no phone connection). Still they did not read the mail and at the end charged me 15 euros plus. Breakfast expensive too and not included in price. Also one key can open every room. I was sleeping when some lady by mistake opened my room with her key even though my key was on the door and door was locked.
Pros: Hotel Garni is a little slice of peace amongst the hustle and bustle of the rest of the town. Tomatoes and chillies grew from my balcony and my room was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay here. It is full of character which my other stays have been lacking in.
Pros: Tze free glas of sparkling wine, due to our wedding on the next day.
Cons: Room interior was a little bit old fashioned.
Pros: Perfect - Very kind staff
Pros: Everyone was very friendly
Pros: Really beautiful location, extremely friendly staff. Beautiful hotel. Great breakfast and dinner.
Cons: The wellness-spa area is a bit small, but also beautiful and clean.
Pros: Great breakfast and fabulous dinner. Nice atmosphere and facilities. Wonderful possibilities for calm having a rest. All people were very helpful and courtesy.
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful. The bread rolls were very fresh, cold meats and cheese, with boiled eggs, a selection of cereals. The rooms were clean, the bed was firm but comfortable. The hotel provided liquid soap in the bath and wash basin.
Cons: The water in the shower was at times only just more than warm and getting in and out of the bath to shower was a nuisance. That said my sister in law in the next room had a flat floor shower.
Pros: I stayed at the hotel for a week for work. Overall the hotel is nice, staff were polite and service oriented. The room was rather small but comfortable. Dinner was usually very good and breakfast was alright. Whenever someone was at the reception, they were very nice and friendly. The swimming pool was wonderful. The price was fair for what i received.
Cons: There were several issues that bothered me at the hotel. There was rarely someone at the reception and i often needed to wait or leave my room several times to get help at the reception. For the whole week i stayed i was not once asked if everything is ok with my stay (which isn't that important but part of good service). At dinner often the appetisers contained pork which for someone who doesn't eat pork is a lose of the dish. Breakfast was very repetitive and quite uninspired. Also the music at the dinning room is the same music over and over, both at breakfast and dinner which after a week you get quite sick of. The room was nice but very small. The "gym" is only an old treadmill or two. I was planning on working out in the mornings but it wasn't really comfortable. These are all small details that upgrade a stay from average or good to excellent and these are all improvements which can be implemented. I'm still very thankful for what i got and would still recommend this hotel to others.
Pros: Fantastic tranquil location in a cute little Austrian town, very friendly personnel, warm and cozy hotel interior, good sauna and pool, sundeck with nice view, good variety of quality food at dinner. Nearby small towns offer lots of interesting activities and wonderful sights.
Cons: Rooms are looking a bit dated and not really stylish compared with the common rooms of the hotel. For my taste there was also too much religious decoration - from every corner a picture of Virgin Mary or a statue of little Jesus is peeking at you :) Breakfast was also quite mediocre compared to the dinner. A week would be too much here but it was very relaxing for a weekend - definitely recommend.
Pros: The people are very friendly and the rooms are of good size. Location is at the edge of the (small) town, so everything can be reached by foot.
Cons: This is a great place stuck in the year 1975. To make it to 2020 a few updates are required. It would help to not separate toilet and bathroom. The doors / lock system and the carpet need also replacement. Cleanliness could be improved.
In the middle of the over 175 year old Kurpark lies the Kurhaus Bad Gleichenberg, one of the most beautiful and modern spa houses. It is a 4 star hotel. The unique location offers the ideal ambience for those seeking peace and for those who care about their health.
Pros: The aesthetic and architecture is fantastic - very swedish-modern. I booked last-minute trying to escape bad weather in Germany, so I overpaid, but I know that (I paid the double rate for a single person no less). They gave me what must be the corner suite, the room was 50% bigger than its neighbors. It was astounding - I enjoyed it as much as my stays in Kimptons and Ritz-Carltons. The "balcony" was really an entrance onto a huge deck overlooking the spa park and extending out over the therme - I could walk out the door and out and down into the main pool - and I still had privacy. A couple of reviewers described the halbpension dinner as bland. The soups were somewhat bland but most European soup is - that said I liked them. The hauptspeise and dessert were good though, and well-presented. For a nominal EUR20 meal, I'd consider it pretty decent stuff. Breakfast was traditional Austrian, decent selection if not outstanding. The cheeses were quite tasty. There's a vollautomat coffee machine which made decent coffee. Bad Gleichenberg is a spa town and you go in no small part to be able to access the therme and treatment center. Being in the hotel that is part of the therme is way to go. If you're a motorcyclist, it doesn't seem at all obvious from a map but the riding around the area is really quite good - it's like riding cross-country in Hessen or so, rolling hills and nicely curvy country roads (not switch-back-y, more sweep-y). It's not the alps but it's good in its own way. I'd very much like to go back for a proper Gesundheitspakete. I'm sure I won't get that room but I'm sure the others are just fine too.
Cons: I didn't like the long walk down the hall to get to the room. How terrible. The place was full so I was unable to really partake of the treatments. The in-room coffee was just Jacobs, and please put cream and sugar in the room (real kaffeesahne, not the powdered stuff or the fake stuff). The salad buffet was nothing to write home about (wouldn't you expect more choice in greenery at a wellness hotel? really? I know, it's Austria... ). The "torte nach wahl" left something to be desired as well IMO. I wouldn't describe the staff as outwardly friendly, but that might just be how people are in Austria; my experience with Austrians is limited. Their English was somewhat weak, if that's a concern - my German was enough such that I could get by. Everyone was helpful and correct though, I never had an issue. I had to ride past the "no motorcycles" sign at the entrance. I get it, but not all of us have loud bikes, and what if I had a Lamborghini which can be just as loud? Couldn't you just say "drive quietly"?
