Pros (+) Quirky but clean and modern room. Great location. Helpful staff. Family room quite large by UK standards!
Cons (-) A little pricey (but everything costs more during the Fringe!), dining arrangements at the pub next door so dining options limited (but lots of cafes and pubs around Grassmarket). Lots of stairs (lifts only get you so far) so pack light if possible.

However, there is a pub on the ground floor and our room was on the first floor directly over the bar where live music was played well into the night.
