I'd been told that the pick-up spot was at the airport but it turned out to be quite a ways away and we had to take a cab to get there. The clerk sent us to the wrong parking spot for the car and we had to find it on our own. There was a disconcerting "thud" noise and jarring when idling.9,2 Wonderful

I chose the Downtown Vancouver pickup location to save time. I waited 1.5 hours in line to get the car. Do not rent from the downtown location if you are under any sort of time constraint!2,0 Poor

Cons:
Maybe have proper hours of operation posted online. Showed up at 5:30pm since it said they closed at 6:00pm. Turns out they close at 5pm on every day other than Friday (I believe). Thanks for the $240 cab ride to Whistler Avis!Hertz

Pros:
The desk staff were quite good, but the pickup was delayed and it put me late for another commitment. The drop-off was painless. The pickup state of the car was an embarrassment to Hertz.Cons:
I picked up the car in a poorly lit underground parkade. The car was not clean. Exterior wash was pathetic - a lousy effort to get the car ready for me upon pickup. As I drove along I found trash in the interior door pockets. As I got out of the parkade I could see that the windshield appears to have never been cleaned and the car wreaked of cigarette smoke. Kind of disgusting actually. And the tank was less than full. I chose Hertz because it was a strong brand. Too bad the experience was not up to basic cleanliness standards, never mind that things should have been far better given the sanitation requirements for coping with Covid9,2 Wonderful

The staff truly needs a crash course on customer service. There were 3 people ahead of us getting car rentals and every single one had some kind of issue with the staff. There was no management on duty. One particular employee raised his voice when he got in a disagreement with a customer. Overall, this place is just not worth the couple bucks you save by renting from here.10,0 Wonderful

I was charged more than I was supposed to. The guy who was supposed to check the car was unprofessional and rude. He did not greeted us, he did not have a pen to put on the document that the gaz was not fulled as result they charged us more than $60 for the gas (3/4 full). I had to ask for my invoice as they charged me without letting me. I have not been refunded yet but it seems like it has been done but no updated invoices. "weird fees " that increased my invoice by $50. Don't waste your money and time there. Budget or enterprise are more professional and easy to deal with.Thrifty

Pros:
I prepaid online and reserved my car to pick up at 8. Arrived at 8 to find no one there, had to call and ask for someone to help me out. I reserved the car at a specific time for a reason, and I wasn’t getting out of there with the car until after 9. A bit ridiculous in my eyes, Such a lack of care to their costumers. Oh wait there’s more. I bought insurance prior on kayak, but not straight from rent-a-car. Resulting in them withholding a massive fee on my credit card and saying I owe them nearly a grand to replace a windshield because of a tiny chip in the windshield due to driving on the highway. I’ve rented cars before and have never dealt with this kind of thing. No windshield replacement should be that much, and the chip is so minor it could easily be filled for very cheap. But instead rent a car is money grabbing and taking advantage of me. In the process of trying to figure out my claim with the third party insurance, which of course has not been easy. All in all I’m extremely upset by my experience and would recommend you go else where to rent a car.Cons:
