The Leeuwenbrug was the nicest, most comfortable and well thought out hotel in Europe that I've been in over ~50 years of travel. This includes those that have cost several times more (because they were charged to business accounts.) The tourist part of Delft, Oude Delft, is a physically small area. Because of the hotel location, we were able to walk everywhere conveniently. The hotel had been converted from an individual home and appeared to be newly renovated and very well maintained. The room was more comfortable and had more amenities than usual: electric beds with adjustable headboards that would go up and down, easily enabling reading while sitting up in bed; good lighting in every area of the room/bathroom; 19… yes, 19, not a typo… electrical outlets to plug in electronics; an electric kettle with in-room coffee/tea; an abundance of closet space with hangers; a desk with two comfortable chairs that were on wheels… I could go on, but won't. Breakfast, included in the cost of the room, went way beyond a "typical Dutch" one, with different kinds of meat, fish, cheese, eggs, breads and cereals, fresh fruit, juice, little boxes of chocolate sprinkles, warm crèpes with different toppings, good/real coffee and more. Staff, with one exception, were friendly and helpful. Strong suggestion: In retrospect, if I were to go in Amsterdam again… which we did, staying in a rented airbnb apartment for five days… I would instead stay at this hotel and make the fast and easy commute into the city. While the Amsterdam tram system is excellent, the commute time from our apartment (that bordered on Vondel Park) to most places in the city was just slightly less than the ride to Delft and back. The tranquility of Delft vs. the chaos of Amsterdam would be well worth it.
