Top tips for finding Dar Es Salaam hotel deals

  • If you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Dar Es Salaam, you should consider visiting during the low season. You'll find cheaper accommodations in Dar Es Salaam in January and November.
  • Hotel room prices vary depending on many factors but you’ll most likely find the best hotel deals in Dar Es Salaam if you stay on a Tuesday. The opposite is true for, Friday, which is usually the most expensive day.
  • Book at least 2 days before your stay begins to get the best price for your Dar Es Salaam accommodation.
  • How long should you stay? KAYAK users usually book their accommodation in Dar Es Salaam for 4 days.
  • If you are looking for accommodation that is best suited to English-speaking travellers, perhaps consider booking into one of the private luxury apartments in the Masaki region or a hotel in Oyster Bay, as they see the most tourists and the neighbourhoods are geared towards English. Perhaps try the Azure Villas at less than a mile from the two main beach strips?
  • If you are in Dar es Salaam for work and want to remain central, consider booking into accommodation that puts you in the heart of the business district. Perhaps consider The Chelsea Hotel, which is within walking distance of the Kariakoo Market and St Joseph’s Cathedral right in the city? The Golden Tulip City Centre Hotel is also a quick a 5-minute walk from Askari Monument and Atiman House, which will put you in the heart of Dar es Salaam.
  • If you are in transit in Dar es Salaam you could benefit from staying close to Julius Nyerere International Airport, which would work well for Seashells Millennium Hotel, less than 8 miles away with Msasani Bay Beach on your doorstep. Another choice is Airport Transit Lodges, less than half a mile from the airport with complementary shuttles to the airport.
  • Gym enthusiasts can keep up their workout routine when booking into the Peninsula Hotel, Tiffany Diamond Hotel, or the Golden Tulip City Centre Hotel. All offer great gym facilities that include swimming pools, weight machines, and a cardio circuit. The Colosseum Hotel and Fitness Club is even more dedicated to health with more amenities and a world-class enormous gym and pool.
  • When looking for a beach-nestled getaway in Tanzania you will have some great accommodation options that will place you near the water’s edge. Azure Boutique Resort is situated less than a mile from Jangwani Beach and Mbudya Island or the five-star Ledger Plaza is situated right on the beachfront of Bahari Beach with a luxurious stay to boot.

PROS: The bed was great and the breakfast is very good. I loved the location and while the gym is a little cramped it has all the equipment you need and is in good shape. Staff was very friendly and supportive. Outdoor restaurant was great.CONS: WIFI could be more consistent and the TV system could be better, weak sound and fuzzy channels.

PROS: Staff are super friendly and always ready to help. The spa and gym are fantastic!!CONS: The facilities are high standard but in need of more regular maintenance, especially the elevators which seem to have a mind of their own!!! Room service Is extremely slow.
