everything was great very clean, great food, good location, nice staff
Lovely staff!!! We even could check-in at 5 a.m.! Good breakfast - with eggs of your choice. The hotel is a little bit out of the inner city (max. 10 min walking) but in perfect distance to the train/bus to Machu Picchu with IncaRail.
The warmth of the hotel. They kindly helped me with every thing I needed; like addresses, connections,, restaurants, museums, stores, etc... I will definitely come back at Kenamary Hotel. And I will recommend to all people I know in the U.S.
I got this hotel because I wanted to stay close to the Plaza and not have to walk up and down the many stairs and uphills of some other hostels and hotels. It provided this but I didn't like this hotel very much. the hotel provides an extra heating device which is helpful in the nov-march range when it can get quite cold in cusco. i chose this hotel specifically for heat and to have a bathtub- but it didn't meet my expectations.
the room and bathtub was different than the pictures showed- much darker, smaller, and not a very welcoming environment. the room had small windows, the hotel has a weird smell to it (i asked if they had burned something inside when i first walked in), i almost hit my head on the roof of the room, the bathroom was dingy, the breakfast is in the basement with no windows. additionally, i could hear a lot of noise in my room and this clearly was not going to let me rest while here. i got this hotel specifically because i was really sick and needed to take a steam bath 2x a day to move through my cold and bronchial infection, but the tub and the room were too small and the set up of the room was not logical. when i mentioned that the booking.com pictures were surprisingly different than my room actually was, they offered to change my room but none of the rooms or bathrooms looked as advertised. since i would need to stay in the hotel most of the time, instead of being out all day sightseeing, due to my sickness, i wanted a refund. they wouldn't give me one, using the booking.com fees as an excuse. when i stated they could take that fee out and return the rest, they still refused to give me a refund. all in all, the location is NOT worth the stay here. there are many many many gorgeous hotels with top-notch and friendly service (and much cheaper rates!!) and I definitely would recommend looking elsewhere. other hotels were extremely generous- making sure i had a beautiful time with the magic of Cusco despite my sickness, and that I was comfortable in the space. their rooms felt like places I could rest. In Cusco, there are many hotels that care for you deeply and go over and beyond what you might expect- some made me customized teas at meals for free, took me to the pharmacy, recommended restaurants with foods that would help me recover quickly or tours and sights I could see with such low energy. I'm glad I left this hotel despite them not giving me a refund.
