Pousada Cumbuco Meeting Point

The location is good being outside the noisiest parts of the centre whilst close enough to walk to restaurants/bars in 10 mins. The pousada used the kitesurf teaching personnel as general staff during the Xmas holiday period. They were very helpful and the only staff that actually spoke some English.

The manager was less than helpful, did not speak English and couldn't raise a smile at anytime during our stay. The shower walls were mouldy and need a regular treatment with bleach or mould remover. Fresh bed linen and towels were stained and outside furniture had seen better days. The breakfast was minimal and the same limited choice every day. We were 2 of only a handful of guests for the first few days. The bar did not open at all during this period. As we had a very late flight (midnight) on our last day, we asked (via an interpreter of course!) if we could check out late and use the room until the evening, offering to pay if necessary. We were told the room was booked and this would not be possible. When we collected our bags at 19.00hrs, our room, along with a number of others, appeared to be still unoccupied. At approx. £50 per night this was not a good value stay.
