The property itself is fine; a little worn but overall it is fine and in a great location on the beach. The interlinked laguna is great, as it gives you easy access to the Dusit and other locations, where you may choose to eat rather than at the Outrigger. I was dubious about other reviews as most of them all rate the breakfast...unusual thing to continually rate...but it is hard to rate when you have to explain to the chef how to cook an egg...I joke you not...and they still get it wrong...continually over an 18 day stay...
The restaurants are very basic; the lobby restaurant has no atmosphere and the staff are very poor, orders are incorrect, you wait an age for average food, it is hard to order a drink. Metzo is overrated, I have no idea how this place received the reviews it has, with poor quality of food and worse service. Thankfully the Edgewater outlet has better staff and they do try to make your experience better. There are limited business facilities if you need to work and are charged THB 5 per page for printing. The front desk also hound you for a security deposit...on arrival we provided THB 28,000 and then we were asked again and again for continued increases...what happened to paying on departure...The staff do not know how to deal with issues particularly well; a small child vomited in the main pool and it took over 30 minutes for them to action anything...which then involved a hotel trainee following the 'vom' around the pool...with a kids sandcastle bucket...on another occasion, a child had a number 2 in the kids pool and after the guard had fished out the accidental jobby, they continued to let patrons use the pool...when asked about their protocol, they informed me that the pool would be cleaned after dark...which was 6.5 hours from said accident...the list is endless...lovely location, just really poor on all the other elements sadly...would choose to stay at one of the other hotels nearby where you use the same beach and have access to the local area.
lovely and beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, wonderful restaurant, amazing beach and decent rooms. perfect for families and couples - silent rooms are faced to the lagoon or beachfront
shuttle bus to the next village operates only 4 times a day. it‘s only 20 minitues walk but if you are injured you have to pay 400 baht back and forth for a really short ride
Great value for money. Perfect for kids with the club for the younger ones and pool slide for all day entertainment. Great to walk onto the beach for other restaurants, massage etc.
Rooms still a bit rustic but guess reflective of the price.
Lots of fun for the kids, great pool, large family rooms. Lots of beach restaurants & bars a few mins walk away. Nice beach
The beach front room is clean and big. With a very nice beach view. We opt for sunset theme dinner by the beach and it was spectacular. Breakfast was good but less thai food, more to western side. The pool was big with alot of complementary activities. The best part is this hotel is right on the beach with the best sunset view.
The location is a bit far from the hype area. But if u just want to have a peaceful holiday, this is the right place.
The Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort is located right on the coast of Phuket, and provides luxurious amenities and features for guests. There are 255 guest rooms at this resort, all equipped with modern amenities and features. Guest rooms are available with ocean views, club lagoon views, and in other configurations. There are also standard rooms and suites, rooms with terraces, and those without. All rooms offer air conditioning, blackout drapes, a hairdryer, a refrigerator, a sunken Roman-style tub with a stand up shower, an LCD TV, and an iron and ironing board. On property, guests can grab a bite to eat or a drink at Metzo’s, which is the hotel’s restaurant and bar. It offers Mediterranean fare primarily. Other amenities on property include a fitness center, a kids’ club, limo service through the concierge, access to non-motorized water sports equipment, a babysitting service, a swimming pool with a water slid, laundry and dry cleaning services, and even wedding services.
While there is plenty of dining available on site, guests can also find other options not far away. The Floating Donut Company is within walking distance, as is the Golden Fish Restaurant and Bar, the Catch Beach Club, and the Bodega & Grill.
