Lobby and restaurant areas very charming
“Historic” seems to be code for tired and dated. Room was in major need of a remodel. Took forever to get tepid water to our 2nd floor room to shave. 2019 plumbing technology allows for hot water to a 2nd floor room.
This hotel may describe it self as a Historic Hotel and may be decorated in the style of the past. The entrance and reception is all very Grand
The rooms are decorated in colours of times gone bye. The bed looks nothing like in the photographs, in fact our pillows appeared to have been used by previous occupants. Take a look at The Grand Hotel, Fort Benton. A restored icon of the past but brought into the future for 20th century GUESTS.
I liked the historical features and that there was a restaurant and bar in the hotel.
No place to to park. The hotel is on busy streets. The ‘dog’ park is across a busy street and the grass was full of dog poop. Bring your luggage in using the luggage cart is a challenge, due to the small elevator. The restaurant was overpriced. Did not visit the bar.
Excellent location. Lovely historic hotel
Location Very good
Plains Hotel surely has a historic feel to it. Very comfortable and in some cases a “bed and breakfast” appeal.
No onsite parking. Had to find off street parking.
