Food was good and staff were great !
We were moved twice then to find this room was dirty with torn wall paper, mouldy walls and a lot of mould on shower, defiantly not 4 star ! Will not be back!
Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice and good quality. Service was also great but quite a long wait (30 ish minutes for food to come out) Room was very clean- couldn’t spot any fault except a few marks on carpet Bed was really soft so comfy but not the best for my back. Pillows were firm and good! Tv in room and bathroom! Great touch of having recent magazines on coffee table and in spa Spa was nice, but not a “hot tub”, was just a part of the pool. Very clean though and quiet. Elemis toiletries were lovely to use after All the help we had from the reception desk was great. Very helpful staff Bar staff was nice and asked lots of questions Grounds were really well maintained Our room appeared newly decorated and the carpet was being done on the stairs so the hotel was obviously keeping on top maintenance
Tv randomly kept switching on in middle of night Room was next to presumably the air con/ kitchen vent so quite loud (turned off about 2230 but woke my partner up turning back on at 0630/0700 ish) Steam room was broken and lad at desk not very helpful- weren’t offered towels/ robes and weren’t signed out as he was on his phone in the back Really hot in room on second night so couldn’t sleep very well
The hotel and room was ok but the room numbering is a bit lacking so the room was difficult to find.
We were seated for breakfast and no-one took our order for breakfast, after 20 mins I had to call a member of staff to take our order. I asked for more tea and toast in the interim which also didn’t arrive and again I had to ask for this. There was a wedding in the hotel and staff seemed to be concentrating on setting up for that and neglecting other guests in the restaurant which was a bit disappointing.
Stayed in the Master Suite which was lovely with four poster bed. The swimming pool was great. Amazing grounds to hotel, very tranquil yet only a short drive to Chester centre. Perfect place to relax and unwind.
Couldn't fault it. Just wish we were there for longer to make full use of spa facilities.
Food quality. Location. Spa. Staff in spa very pleasant.
Staff need training in basic manners. Soap needed in en-suite bathrooms!! Bar shut pre 11pm and floor mopped whilst guests still drinking/trying to relax. Couldn't get a coffee at 10.45pm because machines had been switched off. Tables being set around you for breakfast the next morning whilst we were still eating our evening meal. Felt very much that we needed to hurry up and get out of restaurant. Feel majority of staff are youngsters who lack basic training.
