Pros: Charming house, full of character, perfectly located within walking distance of the village centre with its restaurants and bars and minutes drives from the most stunning castles of Amboise and it surrounding, hosts knew the area to perfection and offered tips and ideas (from wonderful unknown castles to how to beat the queues at the main sites), homemade breakfasts were simply divine. Room was very comfortable, matching its online description perfectly. And our coup de coeur was most certainly Filou the cat. We look forward to our next stay at this great chambre d’hôtes.
Cons: It was a perfect stay, thank you Dominique and Jean-Renaud for welcoming us so generously in your home!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The house is lovely! It is located right in the village. We were able to walk to get dinner recommended by the host. The room was super cute, clean, and cozy. The breakfast was yummy. The host made a really good crumble with plump! I recommend to stay there for two nights so you have time to discover all the castles worth to see and the farmer market on Saturday.
Cons: You need to make sure to arrive between the time mentioned in your booking since the host is waiting for you. We were late because of our flight so you may not want to plan staying there the day you arrive in Paris (if flying from out of the country).
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Warm reception and an extremely helpful and attentive host. A magnificent and unusual building full of period charm. Superb breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good location in the town, in peaceful gardens.

Hotel La Roseraie - Chenonceaux - Bedroom

8,3 Excellent (920 reviews)
R1 255+
Overview Reviews
Located in Chenonceaux, Hotel La Roseraie is a 3-minute drive from Caves du Pere Auguste and 9 minutes from Chateau de Chenonceau. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff, location is excellent Breakfast was good
Cons: The new owner told us they are closing for several months to renovate. Smart move ! Many problems with the plumbing (no water pressure, hot water takes a while to arrive), the air system was VERY noisy, the radiators could not be turned off and the room was too hot. The dining room needs a good renovation too. Food was okay, could be better. And the outdoor is pretty but not maintained. They said they will reopen in March 2020
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located very close to the Château. It’s only for one night because it’s located in small country side, so no one in the street. The bedroom was confortable, clean and the decoration very nice. The bathroom was modern and clean. At night you can have dinner at the hotel restaurant (not cheap). The staff of the hotel was friendly.
Cons: Nothing to do outside the hotel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly hotel with a good restaurant, in an excellent location.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The evening meal was very good, our waitress friendly and helpful, particularly as I'm gluten-free and she was assiduous about checking and, if necessary, adjusting, the chosen dish. The location is convenient if you visit the Chateau of Chenonceau, and there is parking on site via a narrow entrance.
Cons: The receptionist described our room as a 'tres jolie chambre', before taking us to it up an outside staircase. And with its little tower (housing the loo!) attached to it, it looked quite romantic before going in, despite the somewhat unkempt state of the back of the hotel. The bedroom, accessed through a french window, felt chilly and slightly damp, which worsened during the night as the condensation increased. The floor was grey lino and the decor was a mish-mash of over twee and slightly shabby (not 'chic'!) The shower took me a long time to fathom as the square-headed tap at first seemed to be stuck at boiling, and the moveable shower head holder had broken so had to be hand held. (The entrance space to the snazzy glass shower was tiny, others might have had trouble even getting into it.) The information in the room folder had many negatives including directives not to eat or drink in the room - any damage having to be paid for etc. We skipped breakfast, wondering how they would justify the additional price of 12.50 euros pp.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the Chateaux. Easy walking distance. Good restaurant. Secure parking at rear of hotel.
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: It was too cold in toillet. Wi-fi was too weak, impossible to connect.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The location is close to the chateau, just around the corner, in fact. The parking facilities are behind the hotel and easy to find. The hotel has a restaurant, which is convenient.
Cons: The hotel is very outdated. The exterior and interior have not been updated for many decades. It is delapidated. The staff were young and not knowledgeable. The room was cramped and didn't feel clean. The bathroom had mould in the corner and at the window. We didn't feel comfortable at all.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with charming staff, evening meal and service was lovely.
Cons: Breakfast was poor, limited hot food. Bar service later evening (after the meal) was poor, we had to look for service!

Pros: Beautiful building and terrace in a spectacular setting very pleasant staff and excellent service. 6,5 Good
Pros: I liked the location, very convenient to Chenonceau. We had a nice view of the garden. The wifi was good and the staff was friendly.
Cons: There was only one outlet in our room. It was in the bathroom and we had to keep changing chargers for our phones, laptops, and camera battery. Also, when we wanted tea, we had to put the tea kettle in the bathroom to make tea. No AC, but that's not unusual.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: One of the most interesting Loire valley castles very near. Real nice small village, and the hotel in the center. Parking for the car a side, great. Free. Evening menu great for the price, specially the beef piece, grilled. Very nice staff. Very dog friendly, thanks. No extra price+++. Other restaurats in the village too.
Cons: When the temperature is during the day over 35'C.. air conditoning would have been great. Rare so hot days per year, so not to blame the hotel . Low cost air fans at reception..could help..I would have paid extra..
5,8 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful
Cons: Stale odour in hotel; shower bracket broken,.dining room closed before stated time.
4,6 Okay
Pros: It was in the centre of town near the Château. Friendly staff.
Cons: The toilet was small, old and disgusting, the toilet also had a problem with the plumbing that needs to be fixed. The room was extremely dusty, to the point where you couldn’t breathe during the night unless the window was open. The breakfast was basic with dirty badly washed cutlery. The room was also really hot.
6,3 Good
Pros: Personell very kind. She opened the hotel 1 hour after the closing time at 22.00.
Cons: Room quite old and bad maintained. No plugs for chargers. Bathroom quite old. Breakfast too expensive for what is given. 8 €.
