The roads in The Hague are big enough to accommodate vehicles of any size and the traffic doesn't get too cramped. There are low emission zones in the city, so avoid getting a diesel car or anything heavy on fuel. Your choice of vehicle depends on your needs. If you're spending time in the city, smaller, compact cars are lighter on fuel and cost less in the long run. Popular choices of cars for local drivers are SUVs or larger hatchback vehicles. SUVs are ideal for long-distance travel.
Speed limits in The Hague are the same as in the rest of The Netherlands. If you're driving in built-up areas, like the city centre, 50 km/h is your maximum speed. Driving outside of built-up areas usually carries a maximum of around 80 km/h. The dual carriageways and main roads have a cap of 100 km/h, while the permitted speed on motorways is 120 km/h. If you're on motorways between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., the limit is 100 km/h. If there is a rush-hour lane open on the motorway, there is an adjusted speed limit of 80-100 km/h.
There are car parks and on-street parking spots all around the city. Free parking can be found in the green parking zones, which have no time restrictions and is free the whole time. You must avoid parking in black zones, as these are prohibited. Car parks are usually pay-and-display systems, where you get your ticket on entry and pay before leaving. On-street parking is paid for using a card at any of the parking meters.

Cons:
The confirmation email describes that I should bring my creditcard and drivers licences. When I showed up without my passport that was a problem and I had to go back home to pick it up. Change the confirmation mail and include the passport!8,0 Very Good

Cons:
When I arrived at the Budget location in The Hague to pickup the car, I was told that I had to pay EUR145.62. My reservation email indicated that the amount was US$89.54. I explained to the gentleman who was in charge at the time to no avail. He only said that he could not help me and that I had to take this up with customer service. I was in a rush and paid under protest. I then called customer service to make a complaint and request a refund for the excess amount and the representative told me that I have to wait a couple of days for the reservation to appear in the system. This is completely unacceptable. I am very frustrated with this situation and demand that a refund be made to my credit card immediately. One location in The Hague
