Pros:
Gave me a bigger car than I reserved. I was happy with the extra space.Cons:
I was late to my pickup and they called me telling me that my suv was ‘first come first serve basis’ that there was someone in the lobby needing an suv. So if you didn’t have enough cars available then why allow us to rent that specific vehicle size? It’s called a reservation for a reason. I paid for that size to be reserved for me.The customer service agent was very polite, but he was working alone. That meant he did not have the resources to provide a clean car for me. It also meant it took him a long time to handle my reservation. It’s not his fault. It’s the fault of the Managers of the location.
The worst rental experience. Reservation was not in their system. I was humiliated for reserving through Kayak instead of booking directly with Hertz, therefore reservation was not honored. I was advised to go look around downtown everett for penske or Uhaul. It was a nightmare. I reserved more than a week or two weeks, no warning was sent that the reservation would not be honored.
We reserved a car they Hertz in Everett, WA on Evergreen Way and took a Lyft ride for $31 from Paine Field airport in Everett, WA to get to Hertz. When we arrived the counter guy told us there were no cars available to rent. Nor would he even give us the phone number of the Enterprise office 2 miles away, the closest other rental agency. Plus he was rude and avoided all of our questions. So we had to arrange another ride to Enterprise to rent a car. We were very unhappy campers!
Somehow, we rented the car from Everett (not SEATAC). We're not sure how that happened, but we landed after 12 noon, and the Hertz office in Everett closed at 12 noon on Saturday. Even if we'd been prepared to travel to Everett to pick it up, we would have been late and unable to get it until Monday. As it was we were stuck at the airport and had to rent another car from Dollar. No one at Hertz, Priceline or Kayak was in the least bit helpful. I was traveling for the first time in a wheelchair and the experience was much more stressful than it needed to be, had it been made clear that the office wouldn't be open when we arrived. I will never use Hertz, Priceline or Kayak again.
Thought that I had arranged for drop-off at a different location (ie Tukwila), so unpleasant surprise when got to rental office and was told that I needed to bring car back to Everett. Desk staff pleasant, speedy rental process. Car was relatively clean, performed well. Cost of rental of a mid-size car (?Toyota Corolla, really?) for 3 days was OUTRAGEOUS. But I felt fortunate to secure a rental of any kind with the current conditions.
