Pros:

Staff was friendly

Cons:

The pick up Car was filthy, carpet was filled with dog hair. There was food and drink inside the doors and cup holders animal cookies all over. Car smelled of cigarettes. Had the car for 2 weeks couldn’t get rid of the the smell. I had to thoroughly clean and vacuum the car before I’d put my family in it.

The staff members were great!

Cons:

I tried to contact customer service at kayak because I purchased vehicle coverage it enterprise does not honor it and I wanted to cancel it for that reason. However, each time I called, I was routed to enterprise and couldn’t get a refund. I will not use your service again

I was able to get what I needed, when I needed for a great price. Ben was very nice and friendly and explained everything and even answered a question when I called later after renting the vehicle.

Cons:

The "full-size SUV" was more mid-size than full-size. We didn't have any trunk space and then the car's maintenance required sign popped up on the first day we had the car. The Hertz employee said the car had Blind-Spot Monitoring - it did NOT.

Car was very clean, staff at Hertz friendly!

Cons:

I was lucky to see a poster about toll pass program, would not have known that I could drive through the e-z pass without stopping to pay. Would be good to consider final destination for customers to make sure they know those tips!

Yes. I picked it up in a small town and they told me some things that Charlotte staff said wasn't true but they gave me a $10 discount when I dropped it off 2 make up the difference

Cons:

I was really nervous picking up the car because it had animal hair on many of the seats and the floor mat was torn and there were a lot of rather large scratches on the hood. They kept reassuring me that I wouldn't be charged for any of that but in the past I've had them be real sticklers about it so asked them to write it on my check out papers. They kind of acted like I was crazy to be concerned about being charged for the damaged :-)

The inside of the car was fine, and what we expected. Pick-up and drop off were super quick and convenient.

Cons:

The car was filthy dirty outside. So bad, I took photos. Don't know how they can release a car in those conditions! Also, we picked up late in the day, and the day we wanted to return the car, they were not open that late, so we had to pay for an entire extra day for one hour. On top of that, I just noticed they charged us a $10 fee for giving them an extra day of busines!!! This should not happen. Other companies we rent from allow you to return anytime. Guess they have a camera that tells them when you dropped it off [or the keys in the slot], to make sure you are on time. Avis should get with the times!

Pros:

Car was the same size as advertised, and the rate given by Kayak was exactly what we were charged. We even got a refund for leaving more gas than we got! This was our first experience using Kayak and overall it was great, especially the rate in comparison to others.

Cons:

Car had not been cleaned outside, just "watered" down. They did not go over dents in the car and when we noticed drove back to let them know.

My original reservation had my pick up location in North Carolina with a drop off in Las Vegas. I picked up the vehicle for my original reservation in Hickory, North Carolina on Thursday, August 10th at 5:00pm. It was a Ford Expedition (Avis Car Number 97345824). As soon as I get home, I noticed that the license plate was expired so I called and was directed to roadside assistance. They scheduled a replacement vehicle and a Chrysler Voyager was delivered. Avis Car Number 52549291. That car was not delivered to me in hickory until 12:30am, Friday morning. Delaying the use of my rental car the until the following day. After being replaced with a minivan, as opposed to the vehicle I originally reserved, my family and I were forced to make do with the new accommodations. The rear cargo space is not near the same size as we had with the prior Ford Expedition. So we had to have luggage on some of our laps, for a cross country trip. In addition to the size, it is not nearly as luxurious as the car I reserved and paid for. Furthermore, upon driving the next day, the Low Engine Oil light came on. Which forced me to call roadside assistance again and schedule a second replacement vehicle near Kansas City, Missouri. So once again, we were not able to drive our vehicle for hours. A tow truck picked up the Chrysler Voyager and brought us the Jeep Grand Cherokee at 10:00pm that night. Which as you might know, is even smaller than the Chrysler. Before receiving delivery of the Jeep grand Cherokee, the tow truck came to pick up the Chrysler Voyager to return to Avis. Once he picked it up, and before I was delivered my new vehicle, I got an email saying my reservation has been complete. I was charged, in full, after only having the vehicle for less than 24 hours. Upon delivery of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, no new paperwork came along with the vehicle. But apparently a new reservation was opened for a one-way trip from Kansas City, Missouri to Las Vegas, Nevada. So when I delivered the Jeep at my destination in Las Vegas, there was an additional charge for a One Way trip. So after having to deal with all that I have stated above. Having to switch vehicles twice, load, unload and load once again all of our luggage. All of that in addition to not even being able to use the vehicle for hours, for multiple days. And the vehicle I reserved and was charged for I never even drove. I hope you understand my displeasure in the troubles, initially caused by your company and I was hoping to be reimbursed to make things right. I look forward to hearing back from you. Pros:

The pick up location staff were great, the vehicle was wonderful!

Cons:

We couldn't find the drop off location, searched for 20 minutes. Google maps took us to the wrong place so I was 17 minutes late and was charged 45 additional dollars!! We were with someone raised in Virginia Beach and she couldn't find the place either. Very frustrated...

Cons:

We were initially put in a car that reeked of smoke. (Our first clue of a problem should have been the chatty employee that talked about 'so many cars are returned with a smokey smell'... as though that would somehow make this seem normal.) We had to complain to get the car changed, but once we complained, the car was quickly swapped out. IMO, the guy wanted to unload the car on us - we were doing a long distance one-way rental... he probably wanted us to take the car so that he could remove it from his inventory.

Cons:

I never got to pick up the car. I ran into traffic and was literally 3 minutes late. I called ahead to let them know and asked if they could stay open 5 min so I could get the car. Instead they told me they closed promptly at 5:00 and there was nothing they could do about it. Extremely poor customer service
