The roads in Davao City are wide enough to accommodate cars of any size, but the traffic inside the city is better suited to small, compact models. These are easier to navigate when traffic is heavy and easier to park. If you're planning on using public transport in the city and reserving your Davao City car hire for road trips, splash out and get an SUV or 4x4 for a more comfortable experience.
The speed limit in Davao City is similar to the speed limit elsewhere in the Philippines. If you're driving on an open road or a major highway, the speed limit is capped at 100 km/h, while urban roads on the outskirts are usually capped at 80 km/h. When you're driving inside the city, most of the streets have a limit between 40 km/h and 60 km/h depending on how built-up the area is. If you're in the city centre, stick to 30 km/h, especially if there are no signs.
Most of the street parking in Davao City is paid parking, and you'll generally be charged between 06:00 and 21:00 every day. Weekend rates and times tend to vary. If you're travelling to a retail area or shopping centre, there will be outside and underground parking you'll have to pay for. We recommend finding a hotel or accommodation that offers free parking, to avoid leaving your car hire on the street at night.

Pros:
The worst experience with a rental I have ever had. I went to pick up my car from AVIS to be told that there were no rentals available. I showed them my booking receipt from KAYAK, which apparently meant nothing to AVIS. I asked why they didn’t contact me in the 4 days between booking and picking up and they told me that KAYAK didn’t provide them with my email and mobile phone details so they were not able to contact me. I had plans already made and had bookings in another city which I needed the car for travelling to. Alternative last minute car booking with another car hire company cost me double of that which I had budgeted for with KAYAK. Will never use KAYAK again and will advice friends and family of the hardship and inconvenience caused by the booking company.Cons:
