Pros: Staff was great and very friendly. Drop off was very easy. The rental was clean inside. The vehicle I rented was awesome.Cons: The rental was very dirty from the outside. Inside was clean. I recommend every one inspect their vehicle before driving off. The rental had small damage to front bumper and the plate was bent. I reported it before I left the lot. There needs to be alot of lightning where you pick up your rental. It's to dark and you can't really see clearly any damage unless you use a flashlight. Staff was great and very polite .

Pros: Thr Chicago airport staff were atrocious and rude. The billings airport staff were wonderful.Cons: The woman in the Alamo parking garage was one of the worst people I have ever dealt with. She actually cussed at us. It's also extremely difficult to figure out where you are supposed to go within the airport to find the car to pick up.

Pros: Someone from Hertz helped us, thank God.Cons: Dollar closed at 5pm our flight landed at 6pm. There was NO ONE there to help us- the counter and in the garage were empty. This was an hour and a half fiasco. Fortunately someone at Hertz helped us. The SUV we rented wasn’t available, so we got a minivan that had been smoked in. It smelled awful! I will never use Kayak again

Pros: I didn't like anything.Cons: I rented from the Dollar location at Midway airport. The Hispanic flamboyant manager on duty was extremely condescending and has a major anger management issue. Even though I PREPAID for the vehicle, I was told they were going to put a $200 hold on my credit (not debit) card. He then went on to say he couldn't override the policy (which I never asked him to) and that all rental car places do this. No they don't. I travel often to different cities all over the US. and only certain car rental places will impose a $200 or $400 (LAX) deposit. This man starts trying to over talk me so I said "I'm not going to argue with you." and left. Then when it's time for me to turn the car in, I'm standing outside waiting for the Hertz agent to close out the reservation for 15 mins while this lady intentionally skips my vehicle and then later admits it. Next thing I know here comes Mr. Flamboyant Manager charging at me and flailing his arms while he yells that I can get my receipt at the Dollar counter, once again not listening to anything I was saying or needing and actually lowered his fask mask to yell at me that he was calling airport security. Fire this loose canon and rethink your rental procedure.

Pros: Absolutely nothingCons: I waited at the counter pick up my car from the airport location in Chicago Illinois for 35 minutes not one person showed up to help me I called the helpline their 1 800 number I was hung up on 3 different times and never got anybody on the line to help. I ended up not even renting the vehicle I would not recommend this company I would not recommend this company, how do you have nobody at your airport location, At 10:30 in the morning

Pros: There was no staff on site when we arrived to pick up our rental car and had to rent from a different company.Cons: Dollar could have rented us the car we pre paid for. They also could have a number to call for customer service that was staffed with a real person. We could not resolve this issue at the time with anyone at Dollar. There was no one to call as the customer service number was only staffed during limited business hours. I will never again rent from Dollar.

Pros: Everyone we came in contact with was friendly, helpful and upbeat. I really mean that. It was a happy place. No hard selling of insurance, prepaid gas, etc. All of those things were offered but there was no pressure. I can't say that of other companies I have dealt with along the way.Cons: Everything went well and I can't think of anything they could've done better.

Pros: Staff was friendly and helpfulCons: The car sounded horrible while driving. It made lots of noise and it would randomly decide not to drive after being stopped. For example, stopping at a stop sign. The car wouldn’t moved for about 10 seconds. The same goes for stopping at red lights.

Pros: The car was freshly washed and obviously sprayed out with a "cover scent".Cons: The car smelled thickly of cigarette smoke that only seemed to get worse during the week. The clerk at the desk was obviously struggling to stay calm as there were a number of customers turned away due to lack of vehicles and scrambling to fill reservations. The statement that the vehicle seated seven was overly optimistic. Maybe seven young children, but six adults were difficult to cram into the car for long periods of time.

Pros: The staff, pick-up and drop off were great. The interior of the vehicle was clean, however, this vehicle came from California and it reeked of marijuana HORRIBLY!!! We had to purchase vent fresheners to help alleviate the smell. It was honestly almost unbearable, we actually tried to exchange the vehicle with other Hertz dealers and were told there was nothing available. We called and filed a formal complaint with Heidi at the Hertz at Midway Airport and asked for a credit and was told they could issue us a voucher for future rental. I do not believe we will rent from Hertz again in the future. I cannot believe they allowed that vehicle to be in their fleet honestly.Cons: Have better QC.

Pros: Drop off was easy. Eddie was great and very friendly.Cons: Took over an hour to get rental. There were 4 customers in front of me. Inside desk did not immediately have someone manning it, so everyone went outside. Then we were told to go inside and it took very long just to process the renters. The customer in front of me had an issue with her reservation which took a long time, so the manager got my car ready, but it was still a very long wait.

Cons: Hertz wrongfully reported our rental car as stolen and we were pulled over, handcuffed, and held at gunpoint by Ohio state troopers while they cleared up with Hertz that the car had in fact been validly rented to us.

Pros: The guy at midway airport was really nice. They were very quick and efficient too.Cons: I did notice that there was a bunch sticky stuff in the back seat when I got to Kentucky. It didn’t come from me as the only thing I put in the backseat was my suitcase, so I’m a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the vehicle. Also the vehicle itself shakes a lot when you get up to 70mph, and overall I wasn’t impressed with the Ford Ecosport.

Pros: The staff was so friendly - by far the friendliest, quickest, most thoughtful service I've ever received when renting a car. The weather was bad and the roads were sloppy but the car was great. Really loved the option of using Apple CarPlay as well.Cons: No feedback, honestly. I'd always be ok with paying a little bit less, but I think the value was reasonable for the money.

They had a car available that was a step up for an upgrade and in my opinion, they should have offered it to us for the same price since they didn't have a car for us. Pros: The friendliness of the staff. They were presented with a failing that was out of their control, and they did their best to resolve the situation.Cons: My vehicle wasn't available when I arrived, on time, to pick it up. I wasn't a walk-up. I reserved this rental well in advance. I wasn't the only one waiting, either. I ended up waiting for nearly an hour (we were told it would take 15 minutes) before my partner and I walked up to the counter to complain. The staff was friendly and did their best to resolve the situation. Not long after complaining, we were on our way, but not before the delay forced us to miss an appointment and change other travel plans. Despite the professionalism of the staff, I'm not sure I'd rent from Thrifty again. I suspect that this incident is the result of an overbooking practice. When I book a vehicle in advance, I expect it to be there when I arrive. I've never had this issue with any other rental car company.

Pros: Never AGAIN!Cons: NEVER AGAIN! This was booked less than a week before for car to be picked up on the Wed eve of Thanksgiving. They failed to disclose that they were not located with the other rental car companies at the airport, and that you have to take a 2nd shuttle that you call for to get to their lot. I started calling at 4:30pm and after 30 minutes of calling with no answer (once someone answered and hung up the phone), I took a cab to their lot only to find they were closed!!!! Took cab back to the airport and rented from Alamo, and the charge ended up being $110 less then Payless for the 3 day rental.

Heads up for Midway, you need to take 2 different shuttles to rentalPros: The price was affordable...staff was pleasant. Car was clean.Cons: They don't tell you that you have to take a second shuttle from the first shuttle at Midway. The pick up office is so tiny, my luggage had to be brought in each piece at a time, since it wouldn't fit through the doorway. Only 2 people could wait in the office, it was so small. The parking lot does not have a drive to drop off car, so you just park it anywhere. No one tells you to write down your own mileage and bring it to the desk.

You get what you pay for?Pros: Chevy Malibu was nice driving car. Price was great.Cons: Got to rental office. Place packed, except no one from Payless around. Very disorganized. Long wait. Finally got car -- not the cleanest but we just wanted to go by then. Realized the odor we smelled was smoke. Yuk. Next day we found French fry holders, a plastic cup and food wrappers under passenger seat. Washed rear window while getting gas only to discover the grime was on the inside. Also, no mention of GPS, toll tag, extras, etc while checking out car. Would have been nice to know about some of that stuff, especially due to toll roads around Chicago. The drop off wasn't much better than pick up. One agent, packed small office. All in all you are getting what you pay for. Decent car, bare bones customer service. Be prepared to be underwhelmed.

A dirty car with a bad tirePros: First car was very dirty, and while I was driving the front left tire blew out. When I traded it for another car, the service rep. told me it had had a slow leak prior. They should NOT have given it to me! The replacement car was newer, cleaner, and nicer. But the hassle (and potential danger) was upsetting.Cons: I think I already explained, above. I will give credit to the very helpful representative at the O'hare location, who helped me replace the bad car from the Midway location.

You need to take normal rental car shuttle and then wait for another shuttle, that with traffic took 20 minutes to pick me up and another 15 minutes back to office. Thus, spent lots of time just getting shuttle. Not convenient to Midway. The extra time certainly not worth the few dollar savings.

The car that wasn't thereCons: "Reserved" online. It was not made clear that the company was offsite or that a credit card number was necessary to hold the car. Our flight arrived nearly 2 hours late. We took the shuttle to the rental counter only to realize Economy was in a different location. Called both the local number and the toll-free number and got no answer. By the time my phone calls caught up with me it was 12:30 am and the message was that they would hold the car until 10:00. So now we were stuck at Midway. Luckily we were able to rent anothe car but had to cram 6 adults with luggage into 1 car instead of 2 and had to pay a premium price. I would not use Economy again.

Pros: The employees of the company are friendly and helpful. The car was new and comfortable.Cons: The company has a hidden "mandatory" roadside assistance fee of $100. It is NOT printed on any of the paperwork, nor or is there a notification when making the reservation on Kayak. It doubled the price of my rental, but there was 0 communication upfont. I reserve thru Kayak all the time and expect they would be disappointed in the hidden costs as well.
