My New Choice
Pros: Long time Hertz customer that has several bad experiences over the last year. This trip was the Masters and Hertz tripled the rate from the time of the reservation six months earlier. Cancelled and rebooked with Budget at a normal rate. We actually received an upgrade in class as that was what was available at checkin. Thanks Budget!

Pros: Excellent car (Impala). Very comfortable & well designed.
Cons: The agent had me walk back out, all the way across the parking lot to get the mileage when I returned the car. Never had to do that before and maybe they could have told me to record it when I picked up the car.

Cons: Budget was not the easiest reservation to pick up. every other rental company had 3-4 employees working the desk and budget had just one. I stood in line to get my rental for about 25 minutes waiting on the one customer in front of me to get his rental. Every other company was getting customers through in an average of about 5 minutes. Finally, Avis Car Rental called me over to assist me with getting my car rental. I was done with Avis in 5 minutes and the customer that was in front of me at Budget was still standing at the desk waiting to get his rental.

Checkout was terrinle
Cons: There was no full size car and my only option was a little mini-jeep. Of course, if I wanted to pay more there were PLENTY of vehicles to choose from. Car was damaged and agent didn't want to sign that it was. Took over an hour to get the car and leave. Agent was a bozo.

Total ripoff attempt
Cons: At check in, I was told that my reservation had been cancelled since my flight was late - but he could give me a car for 3x the daily rate of my reservation. After I showed him the "terms and conditions" that didn't include cancellation upon flight delay and that kayak didn't represent the appropriate terms, he miraculously found my reservation. The whole episode took 15 minutes and there were 10 people in line in behind me. It might explain why it took the folks I front of us 15 minutes as well. My guess is that they were running this gambit on everyone.

Pros: It was cheaper when I arrived. I was given a Nissan Frontier and I loved it! While I was in VA it poured down rain and I felt safe. Both of the representatives were great.

Cons: I reserved two weeks in advance and I still didn't get a car. They made me late for my event cuz I didn't get the rental til hour after because. They locked the keys in the vehicle.

Pros: I reserved the car as I always do never had problems before but I had never dealt with thrifty. First Lady was mislead online into buying third party insurance which was useless, even the lady at thrifty told me I wasted my money......gee thanks! Then the vehicle I reserved for a week for a 600 mile one way road trip would cost me an additional 20 a day to cover the mileage or of course I could always upgrade to a truck with unlimited mileage for substantialy more money than my reservation which by the way required a 50 deposit online and an additional 200 deposit at the counter that no other place I've rented from required! Overall I won't rent from thrifty ever again nor refer them to friends or family!

#1- The price doubled forms eh [rice you quoted. Your price indicated that it included taxes, there were tons of other add ons as far as fees and the price more than doubled.
#2 - The car smelled very strongly of cleaning products, we tried to open the windows as much as possible.

Cons: There were additional charges beyond what I reserved the car for. The car performed pretty well, but seemed to struggle a little bit sometimes. In other words, it did not accelerate smoothly.

Absolutely the worst
Pros: I liked that they pretended my reservation was worth something. Also, my wait time on hold to speak to worthless "customer service" wasn't bad.
Cons: No car available. "Reservation was for 9am, I showed up at 9:30". Cars in the lot were "pre-reserved" so I couldn't take one. With a straight face said the pickup truck (the only thing they had) has as much trunk space as the SUV I rented. Unless it rains or I have passengers. No help from "thrifty".

Poor return service, terrible car
Cons: Took almost a week for them to enter receipt of car. National service center couldn’t do anything. Car was really poor, never had a problem with Thrifty before but won’t be going back.
Pros: Easy rental experience. Quick pickup and return.
Cons: I didn't like that the agent didn't know anything about the extra insurance protection I paid $18.00 for and kept attempting to get me to get the Alamo/National insurance.

Great day trip
Pros: I requested a small standard - like Toyota Corolla. I got a jeep suv which was great and very comfortable! Friendly service at pickup and drop off. Car was super clean. It was a great quick rental for a day trip between work meetings and flying home.
Cons: I wish is wasn't so much higher to drop off at another airport, especially since they're only an hour apart. Would be nice is satellite radio was included instead of $5 extra, just felt like another fee.

Cons: We arrived in Augusa, on the way to a wake and Alamo didn't have a car available although we had made a reservation. We ended up renting a car from Hertz at five times the price of Alamo since we had to pay the "walk up" price.

Pros: Drop off super easy and they returned a fairly valuable item I had left in the car via their Lost n Found department. That turned what could have been a sour ending to our trip into a very positive view of Enterprise.
Cons: The car was not quite a clean as it could have been a pick up. However it may have been one of the busiest weeks of the year for them in Augusta with the Masters just getting over that day.
Cons: Immediately after reservation I received email confirmation. Six hours later I received next email that my reservation was cancelled. In the meantime I didn't have opportunity to review my emails. Next day after coming to the Hertz location I was informed that they don't have a car for me. I was treated in very unpleasant way when I tried to contest that situation. The office manager also call the police asking them to come to the location because I don't want to leave their office. Police officer- after listening what happened - decided to help me out and gave me a ride to find different car rental company. If he would not help me (police officer) I would not have a chance to come on time to air port for my flight to Europe. Because I was forced to rent last minute car from different car rental I paid twice more for the rental. Also there was very a stressful situation for me. This is the last time I will rent a car from Hertz. Moreover I will inform all my friends not to rent a car from Hertz.

Cons: I received an email confirming my reservation with Hertz, and when I went to pick the car up, there were no cars available. The young man at Hertz wasn't very friendly, and he told me that a reservation confirmation doesn't guarantee a car. This makes no sense to me.

Cons: Booked for a full size car, the store didnt have it and they didnt even call me to explain the situation. They just gave me a upper level car and told me my total amount is more than what i have booked for. When i asked them for the reason than they said they dont have any car. Normally i never had problem with them before, but this time i am disappointed.

Cons: The breaks were squeaking when they pulled it around, I asked about it and I was assured that it sometimes just does that when it starts up. Not knowing any better, I went ahead and left with the car, the breaks never stopped squeaking. I called them before they closed an hour or so later and I was told they didn't have any others cars but I could drive 20 miles to their airport location and switch out the car. I told him I didn' have the time to drive a round trip of 40 miles out of my way and that I would be arriving at their location in less than 10 minutes, he said he didn't have a full size car he could switch it out for, I asked about another size, he said all he had were compact cars which I found incredibly interesting considering when I rented the car an hour ago he asked if I would like to upgrade to a nicer / larger vehicle for $10 more per day. I don't feel the manager was honest with me. I ended up with a car with squeaky breaks for my week long trip.

Pros: Customer service was great. The quickness of checking outthe vehicle and also xhecking in. Very clean and comfortable vehicle at a reasonable rate.
Pros: The entire process is pretty easy. Just remember that the Avis counter is now with Budget instead of the Avis counter.
Cons: Be careful about the insurance coverage through Kayak. That's not Avis' coverage but Kayak. If you have any problems, you have to go through Kayak not Avis. Luckily this didn't happen to us but it's good to know before spending the extra money.

Paid Extra for a Round Trip Return
Cons: I paid a premium to drop a vehicle off at a different location than I picked it up at ($122 for a one day rental). The vehicle was a crappy Kia Rio that had a super low and uncomfortable passenger seat (my husband is 6'5" and couldn't see over the dash...) Here's the kicker.. I ended up driving the EXACT same car back for the return part of my trip... dropping the car at the original pick up location. So, essentially, I paid a premium to drive a crappy car for Avis back to it's original location.
The car also smelled like smoke.

Cons: Augusta pick up location was understaffed, the one agent was doing her best to take care of customers. My vehicle was filthy inside with sticky stuff all around. The agent did take the time to try to wipe it down and had Sears agents clean off the exterior. 2 agents could make a world of difference
Pros: I appreciated the professionalism of the agent that waited on me and the courteous manner in which I was treated. He took the time to find the most comfortable car on the lot for me. The automobile, a 2017 Mazda 6, was a comfortable smooth riding vehicle with great fuel economy.

Pros: The lady at the counter was great. They didn't have the car I reserved, but gave me (what they considered) an upgrade from an SUV to a minivan. But they said they would check with other companies to set me up with an SUV. It didn't matter, so I just took the van.
Cons: I dropped the keys in the late night drop box but I was called the day after I returned my rental asking where the car was. ... They had misplaced the keys, but found the keys somewhere and the van.
