Knowing ahead of time that Payless was handled by Avis would have been helpful. Also having to drive a pickup truck or upgrade and pay more was a surprise and something that they should have done without a charge. We did not want a pickup truck!

Smooth process. Pickup was simple, the car (a RAV4) was brand new and clean, the drop off was seamless. I can't understand why anybody would go to one of those other pricey car rentals when this one was as perfect as it gets!Honestly....nothing could have been improved. I bet I didn't spend more than 5 minutes TOTAL at the rental car counter and that includes pickup and drop off! Price was great, car was great, customer service was great. Seriously...nothing could have been improved.

Nice car, easy drop off procedure.I arrived after 9:00pm because of a late flight which meant the booth was closed but thankfully the lady from Avis in the same booth managed to get me the car I had booked. Otherwise I'd have had to get a taxi and come back in the morning.

Expect Less!!Nothing at all. Poor customer service & problematic cars!!After waiting in line for 20 mins to get a car. I was given a Nissan Sentra. Went to the car. settled in the stuff. Start the car & it had the check engine light on. Went back to the agent & asked to change the car. Next car that I was given was also a Sentra. The car was dirty inside outside. I told the guys working there. The car looks filthy. Was told the car wash is broken & they are sorry. I decide to take the car without wasting much of my time. The music system was broken. Speaker had too much static. So no music on a 1+ hr of drive. Later that evening it started raining. The cars wipers wont work. They left a smudge on the windscreen. It was too difficult & unsafe to drive. While returning the car when I informed the agent about the problem. She acted as if she didnt care or she already knew but, dont bother getting issues fixed.

Almost perfectMostly everything.Gas level was NOT at full upon rental’s pick-up. It was at approximately 7/8 tank upon pickup of vehicle but I was expected to leave the Gas level full upon return. (Which I did). The whole matter was not worth making an issue over but I have a time stamped photo (proof) of the Gas level on the gauge upon pick-up. ...Just an annoyance. Otherwise I would rent through this service again.

Not a great deal!The car brand, a Mazda 6, was roomy and well made. Had the potential as a good car.First, we had to wait for over 30 minutes for a car, not acceptable. When we received the car, it had damage to 3 of the four corners, and was fairly beat up overall....still am worried they will try to come after me even though the damage was preexisting. When we went to return the car, there was NOT a sign for Payless returns, instead they expected you to know where they wanted you to go (with the Budget returns). as simple sign would have helped. Due to the above, paying a little more for a better rental is my plan for the future.
