have never had such a worse hospitality experience in my 10 years of travelling. Just to put things in perspective i have traveled to small cities in Asia and Metropolitan cities all around the world. When you see a 4 star credited on booking.com you trust and basic expectations. The hotel asked to show proof of visa and i did not have my OCI card on me just my passport copy as i do not travel locally with my passport and documents and keep them in a safe at my moms place in Delhi. They refused to let me check in and were extremely rude. Never have i been asked on proof of visa at check in around the world usually its proof of identification which is passport. If this is a mandatory ask this needs to be specified on booking.com and when confirmation email sent out. After 1 hour talking to an inexperienced front receptionist who was extremely rude and manager over the phone an exception was made and we were given over night stay. I would have walked out and not wasted my time but because it was late and limited options i had to plead. In addition while i was waiting i saw few kids were checking in where no identification was being asked, seemed in appropriate and also appeared they had personal relationship with the receptionist. These were 18 - 20 year old kids. I at that point understood this place was extremely shady. The quality of service is 1/5 and the rooms are not a 4 star experience. There is mold and fungus growing on walls and many things in the room were not working. Such as the phone to call for room service or the kettle.
