Panoramic views and the real wood burning fireplace
Dinner was superb. risotto to die for
Views all around, grounds are well-kept
Seems a bit dated. Could use a facelift. Real coffee cups and wine glasses in the room would have been nice. Noise from the highway below. Not much storage within the unit.
Beautiful views really can’t be beat. Good proximity to Carmel-by-the-sea and Point Lobos. We got upgraded at check in to a two story almost townhouse style from an ocean front room.
The buildings are quite old, and although they were upgraded at some point, our room still showed it’s age.
Our ocean-view room, while spacious, was pretty dated. No convenience store in the hotel. In particular this means that either you get a full breakfast at the restaurant, or you need to plan ahead and buy your groceries. (Our suite did have a coffee-maker and kitchenette.) Sofa bed was closed every day and the sheets removed, do we had to have it made every night. Very expensive for what you get.
Carmel provides some of the most breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean on all of the west coast, and the Hyatt Highlands Inn is your place to take in every sunrise and sunset during your stay.
The hotel is smaller compared to a lot of big chains with just under 50 rooms. The exclusive community provides multiple different suites and many of the renovated rooms provide spectacular views of the ocean. The rooms are gorgeously furnished and feature wood-burning fireplaces as well as oversized marble tubs.
The California Market at Pacific's Edge is a fusion of the hotel's already two award winning restaurants and features incredible views of Point Lobos State Reserve. Hand-crafted cocktails are served daily and provided in the Sunset Lounge. Room service can cater to you whenever you so please.
It supports special events through a nearly 5,000 square foot indoor and outdoor meeting space. The redwood deck is especially scenic, and delivers outstanding views of the Pacific as many conference centers cannot match this kind of outdoor experience.
Additional amenities include massive flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations with iHome stereo, high speed DS3 internet and personal desks in every room. Staff is friendly and quick to offer assistance on any personal requests.
The beautiful resort has been around since 1917, as it was quick to snatch up some of the finest real estate on the Pacific. Recently remodeled to provide modern decor and the most plush living environments possible, the Hyatt Carmel Highlands delivers an experience you cannot find anywhere else on the west coast.
