The staff were particularly helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent
The professionalism and helpfulness in every respect far exceeded our expectations. Banford greeted us on arrival and we really felt we were treated like family.
The toilet ran on occasion and we just had to tap the flush mechanism slightly to stop this from happening
The best thing about this place is the staff. All staff are extremely attentive and friendly, offering advice daily on our plans and helping us with bags from and to the car. There is a good selection for breakfast which ranges from continental to fixed meals such as French Toast or Shakshuka. The rooms are very comfortable and are tended to daily by the cleaning staff. Location is very good proximity to many bars and restaurants and is based in the heart if Cape Town. Bit of a walk (30 mins) to the Waterfront but easily accessible by car/taxi.
The main gripe I have with this place is the parking. This is the only place we stayed in SA which made us pay for our parking for the duration of our stay. We were asked to park in an unsecured car park adjacent to the hotel where they have specific parking bays and were charged 85 rand (circa £5) per day for parking. The hotel is also based in a complex which includes restaurants and a bar. Whilst this is a good asset, over the weekend the music was very loud and kept us awake until midnight, even with earplugs supplied by the hotel. Wifi connection was weak.
Very nice historic hotel in the city of Cape Town. Thank you to Teej and Bamford from reception. They made also our third stay to a feeling like home. We look forward to coming again.
Beautifully designed hotel, with stylish rooms and common areas. Fantastic location with lots of good restaurants nearby. Excellent breakfast. Very pleasant, helpful staff.
