The chef prepared sensational vegetarian Vietnamese soup for us; the front desk organised a car and driver to take us to HCMC with a stop on the way and with lots of fresh fruit to keep us going. We went on the hotel tour to the floating market and rice noodle factory. That was also excellent. The hotel surpassed our expectations.

Cons: The rooms (under the rather overstretched term of "suites") are quite small and do not fit with the website general description or with the glossy picures that promote them. Our room boasted 40 m2, when in reality it didn't have more than 25.... The bathroom in particular is very small and uncomfortable (in the River suite). The furniture is odd and very uncomfortable (ahhh that iron bed....) and the whole interior decoration needs a serious refresh and update ! Some maintenance needed here and there... A bit disappointing, really.

Pros: The hotel is located on the Wharf, so you will not have to walk far to get to your boat for trips to the floating market! It is a very clean hotel, with lovely staff, who go out of their way to help you. My room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the main boats on the Mekong. The bed was so comfortable and the hot power shower was very much appreciated after walking all day. There is a great choice for the breakfast buffet and the hotel also has a pool, which looked great, although I was out each day so did not use it. Similarly, the hotel has its own cafe and BBQ restaurant. You really cannot go far wrong in booking here. It is a lovely hotel in a great location, with very friendly staff, who speak excellent English.

Cons: The staff were not friendly. Except Tranh (bellboy/doorman who always smiled and was friendly. Check in staff and counter staff very standoffish and unhelpful. Breakfast was cold and unappetising. I am pretty sure the chef doesn't cook the dumplings before placing them out as they were floury, dense and really cold, I wonder if he/she thinks that the bain-marie will cook them.

Cons: The staff was unhelpful. They didn't know anything about the city when I ask them for travel advise.
