Pros: Staff was extremely accommodating! Arrived a little late and had to leave a bit early! Staff was extremely understanding and helpful! Even made a lunch at a very nominal fee for us as we had s long journey ahead that day on the train! Great stay!

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was a little small with a lot of furniture and not much room for luggage
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with private parking. Large attractive room. A wide choice for breakfast
Cons: Steep narrow stairs to the room
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great place for a stop off if travelling through Calais. Can park outside (on meter up to 6pm and after 9am) or park privately at the back of the B&B for €10.
Cons: The availability of fresh milk in the room
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful the location was good and there was secure parking. Breakfast was good and accommodation was really clean
Cons: I didn’t realise checkin was restricted til after 16.30. But this was on the website but I didn’t pick this up.
8,0 Excellent

Cons: Everything was superb!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, quiet, perfect location, incredible attention to detail and excellent breakfast!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Handy location for stop-off for travelling to and from France ...and for visiting Calais. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Nice building and decor. Breakfast was fine. First time we've brought a dog while visiting France, so pet friendly B&B was ideal. Host was friendly.
Cons: Nothing really.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host, breakfast and decor were great
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great little B&B - but Calais not what we expected though why not sure - reflective of many UK seaside resorts - seen better days
Cons: The feel of the property and kindness of welcoming host
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our host Stephanie was outstanding! She helped me tremendously, in fact above and beyond, when I needed help with my husband who has some disabilities. Even if we had not had a semi-emergency, I would have been so impressed with Stephanie and the way she runs her BnB. Very comfortable beds. Luxurious bathroom. Delicious breakfast.
Cons: The only suggestion is that the bathroom step up in Chantilly is a bit dangerous. Perhaps a white marker rather the black one would have prevented tripping up.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The while building was a visual delight, with tasteful decor all round. The room was cosy, with a comfortable bed, a spa bath and a sauna, which made our stay so much more pleasant. This place is an absolute gem.
Cons: We liked everything about this place.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really nice and the staff were really helpful and informative.
Cons: Nothing.

Nuit D Ailleurs - Calais - Building

9,0 Excellent (227 reviews)
R1 659+
Overview Reviews
A stay at Nuit d Ailleurs places you in the heart of Calais, within a 15-minute walk of Musee des Beaux-Arts et de la Dentelle and Les Six Bourgeois. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Limited parking is available onsite.
6,3 Good
Pros: The bed was comfy and clean. The large corner bath was nice and there was plenty of hot water. There are several restaurants close by however I have stayed in Calais many times and would describe the location as the poorer end of Calais.
Cons: The breakfast was poor, it consisted of a baguette and a croissant, not a lot of good if you don't eat bread. I think there may have been a bowl of kiwi fruit. I found the décor of the rooms a bit scary, our room was gold and purple with lots of elephant ornaments and scary looking puppets.
7,5 Good
Pros: The funky decor, the friendliness of the owner, efficiency and location.
Cons: Would have benefitted from better pillows and duvet.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff and nice place
Cons: Did not sleep well as the pillows are very uncomfortable, I would stay again but I would take my own pillows as everything was great
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Moroccan room is really big. Decorated really well. The bed was large and for us super comfy. The breakfast was superb. Fab croissants and excellent bread. Hostess was very sweet and her English was much better than my french.
Cons: No faults
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated suite, very spacious and comfortable, excellent location. Extraordinary value for money.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic room..we stayed in the Bombay room and a great room very good for a last night in Europe
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very quirky room, we thought we were in Morocco
Cons: Nothing.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location good. Breakfast adequate.
Cons: The stairs were dangerously steep and very poorly lit. In order to create the illusion of being in India, some of the soft-furnishing was uncomfortable and a lot of the furniture was unnecessary/unusable/not fit for purpose. The T.V. was useless.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room was very spacious. Indian decor was really cool. Hostess was super friendly!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Bombay suite and have to say it was absolutely beautiful - lovely furnishing and decoration and lots of attention to detail. Ironically I don’t recall ever staying in a hotel room in India anywhere near as lovely as this! Sandrine was a very friendly host and the breakfast was spot on. This was a wholly unexpected find and will certainly not be the last time we stay.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The location to where we needed to be... and the pool facilities

7,9 Good
Pros: Location to port..!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: unpretentious yet an air of class - leather furniture in the lobby, polite and helpful staff. have stayed several times
Cons: such a shame, the excellent experience is always marred by breakfast priced at £11/head (£33 for 3) - just a bit too much if all you'd like is a coffee and a bowl of cereal, and we end up having to go to a newsagents instead. hopefully there will be a more reasonably priced offering from the hotel in the future

Cons: It was very quiet. They have a lovely bar area but there was no-one around.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Have stayed before, always great
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: The building was in need of updated very old decor and bathroom the restaurant however off the Reception area looked good it must have recently been refurbished but having stayed at the Holiday Inn the night before it was quite a disappointment staying at the Ibis we have stayed at ibis Hotels in London at stansted and Luton airports and they have been lovely this one we will not stay at again unfortunately it was in dire need of modernising and painting and a new bathroom
Cons: Everything! It was all so dated and looked very grubby the paintwork off the reception area the room itself was too cramped travelling with 2 dogs we could hardly get around the bed and the bathroom needed updating too

7,1 Good
Pros: Stayed here on route back from our holiday, superb location right on the beach. Good value for money for a family room for the 4 of us
7,1 Good
Pros: Location was excellent, right opposite the beach, and 5 minutes from the tunnel
Cons: There is NO soundproofing at all so you can hear literally everything. If, like us, you have dogs it meant an entire disturbed night sleep as people were banging doors shut
7,1 Good
Pros: The location, the fantastic range of local and Belgium beers, and most of the restaurant meals. There was also a young waitress who had worked there around five years who was so lovely and efficient and spoke incredible English, I am sorry we did not ask her name.
Cons: The Moules were not as good as on previous visits. They were rather tasteless and gritty. Did not like that there was a Frites van situated in the Hotel car park. this compromised the parking space sand was quite noisy on the Saturday evening when we were trying to sleep prior to catching the early morning ferry.

Pros: Perfectly adequate stay for v little cash
Cons: Looks a bit run down from the outside even though the inside is nice
10,0 Excellent

7,0 Good
Pros: I like the fridge and cooking facilities.
Cons: Waiter in restaurant didn’t give us our change.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Location was good for the ferry.
Cons: Reception not manned notice informed us to go next door to restaurant to check in. Strong smell of cigarette smoke on first floor landing. Rooms were dirty, dilapidated. Bed throw torn. Shower dirty. Room door didn’t lock. Requested a room change. Second room less dilapidated but still not clean. Hair dryer broken . Handles in vanity unit hanging off. Complete areas of paintwork missed. Heating in room broken. Would not recommend staying here.

Pros: It was near the ferry port.
Cons: The beds were not comfortable, cheap mattresses. We were given no towels so used our own.

Pros: Good for overnight stop for ferry Good food and service in restaurant Room has been refurbished but....
Cons: Room has been refurbished but not quite finished off. No fastening/hook for shower ,handheld only. As per usual not all light fittings working Mattress smaller than the bed This is the usual standard for this place but we will still use it for convenience for ferry and restaurant
7,5 Good
Pros: Location on the sea front. Price was reasonable for the location. Good location for ferry and tunnel. Plenty of parking space.
Cons: Noise from other guests but that isn't the hotels fault..
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent overnight stop to catch a ferry or on the way back. Beds are quite comfortable and the rooms have coffee making facilities and are very clean. You have free parking and the restaurant is very good.
Cons: The annex has been renovated but only slightly. When eventually the whole annex building is overhauled it will be really very good.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Very close to the beach!
Cons: Looks very dated and the rooms need a lot of work. Plastic panels nailed to the ceilings and the edges just left really rough. Not finished off. The laminate floor also cut short and uneven and edges just left like it!!
6,0 Good
Pros: Food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. Waiter at dinner great.
Cons: Since our last visit (2-years ago), the next door run down hotel has been taken over by La Plage. Outside area at rear of room very run down and dirty. Room was recently decorated, but not finished very well. Bed comfortable, but mattress too small for frame - bumped legs on metal frame.

Cons: Good
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean. Hotel was close to Eurotunnel. Room was very quiet. Breakfast was filling, fresh and delicious, served in the room at exact time requested.
Cons: It would have been better if the showerhead and Jose had been fitted with a wall bracket instead of loose in the bath
6,7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Room to small and out dated
8,3 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely charming old hotel, beautiful building and really nice clean well equipped rooms. The hotel owner also was very friendly and helpful and the hotel is situated less than 10 mins walk to Calais centre. The only downside is that the hotel overlooks the docks and industrial area, which is unbearably noisy so if you are hoping for any sleep at night you can forget it, we actually gave up at around 3.30 am and left.
Cons: Hotel was great, but the noise from the dock/industrial area outside made sleeping impossible - perhaps a room at the back might be better
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for the car ferry with plenty of bars and restaurants around. For the level of price the hotel did precisely the overnight job we needed. Helpful gentleman in reception and parking is easy.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly reception. very nice breakfast delivered to the bedroom (no dining room at this hotel) - good juice and coffee, pain au chocolat, fruit brioche, fresh baguette, selection of preserves, honey, nutella, butter, very good value for 6.5 Euros.

3,8 Mediocre
Pros: n/a
Cons: Whilst the price is attractive and the room appears clean, the entire hotel is in a state of disrepair. Only half the lights in the corridors work which means you are walking in the dark for several seconds before a light comes on, several of the room doors have no locks and are wired closed. There is a pervading smell of damp in the corridors and in the bathroom. The shower had a door missing and there was no plug in the sink so I was unable to shave. The sink drain filled with water very quickly and overflowed into the sink. There was no door handle on the bathroom and the door catches on the floor so will not close. The hotel is right above a 'discoteque' so until 3 in the morning there was constant heavy beats to loud music making it impossible to sleep - just what you want after a hard drive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff great location. Friendly establishment and the staff are always on hand to help. Quick check in . I will be booking this hotel again in the future to all my friends and relatives when they visit calais
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Customer service
Cons: Comfortable
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Dark. Very grubby carpet, especially in the lift.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Leaving
Cons: We discussed with the room... The toilet set was not fixed properly to the pan.& moved dramatically which nearly cased my wife to fall off the toilet.. There was black mould in the bathroom. Bathroom radiator no connected... Bedroom smoke alarm hanging by its wiring from the sealing... Chipped & flaking paintwork.. Only 1 coat hanger in the wardrobe.... No kettle or tea. Coffee making ingredients.... This brings budget hotels to a new low.... I REAMEND DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR OWN SANITY......
7,9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff,location
Cons: Needs simple maintenance, like replace missing sink plug, have a toilet roll holder and touch up damage paintwork ,replace bulbs not working.
7,1 Good
Pros: Close to all restaurant’s very convenient
Cons: It needs updating but that would make it more expensive so great for a overnight stay
