Pros: The rooms were large and clean. The bed was comfortable. The pool area was nice with cushions laid out for comfort. We did not get a chance to use the pool but it looked inviting. Breakfast buffet had a wide selection. Food was good.

Pros: The hotel is not perfectly located on the Nile, but it is one third of the price of the perfectly located hotels, and I found the location super-interesting. The hotel is clean and very well maintained and staffed, and it has the best gift store of the 20 or so I scanned in Cairo. I definately recommend Safir as a budget alternative to the classic five stars (Grand Hyatt, Kempinski, etc)

Pros: Staff is amazing- super helpful, kind, responsive, courteous, and they go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Special recognition to Mohamed in reception, Mona Helmy at the Executive lounge, the EXCELLENT housekeeping staff of floor 5 in the Zamalek tower, the dinner and staff of the Soraya Gallery were AMAZING, the bell staff, the staff of the women's changing rooms (the hot tub, sauna, steam room were impeccably clean). The suite in which we stayed was exceptionally clean and staff was attentive at all times during our stay. The hotel is beautiful and you feel like you are experiencing history as you walk around the grounds. Cannot wait to go back to this hotel and encourage all travelers to stay here if they plan to visit Cairo!

Pros: The hotel is a very good deal; pay a few extra bucks and get the breakfast buffett included in the room and you can't go wrong. The restaurant selection and food awesome. The Nile view from the 11th floor was very nice. The location was about 5 minutes walk to the Museum and maybe 15 minutes walk to the Cairo Tower. There are tours out of the hotel lobby too. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cairo!
