The good: I stayed at Reef Retreat for 10 days in July. I loved how clean the room was, how much room there was in the bedroom, bathroom, and living area. When I booked it I knew that it was a suite, but you never know what that means and what others consider a suite. Well this was the correct description! There was a kitchenette with a large referigerator, sink, hot plate, eating area. There was a large living area with a sofa/futon that was very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a seperate shower area and the bedroom had a queen size bed with a wardrobe (with a safe), 2 desk/tables, and 2 table chairs. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The manager, Karima, brought us a coffee pot when I asked her where I could get some coffee and a couple of times when I asked her a question not only did she go way out of her way to find the answer, she even text us what she had found! The resort sits off of the main road and is virtually hidden behind trees which made it very peaceful and quiet. The not so bad: I'm from a cooler climate so the living room was nice, but the only air conditioner was in the bedroom. So if you don't need air it's not a big deal. The only thing that the Reef is close to are the "activities" at the back beach. If you planned on island hopping, jet skiing, or parasailing then this is the place to be. However, if you want to lay on the beach, shop, eat, or go bar hopping the Reef is on the other side of the island. True the island is only 1/2 wide, but it sometimes got annoying to get a trike to go to the beach, get a trike to go to the room, get a trike to go to dinner, and get a trike to go home. True there are trikes everywhere, but it's a convenience issue. The Reef doesn't offer amenities like other hotel do such as laundry service, transportation to and from the jettyport, or a bar/restaurant. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, hotel then the Reef Retreat is for you. It's price alone is appetizing, but add in the staff and manager and the Reef Retreat will be an amazing place for you!
