Pros: Every member of the team running Hotel Petronilla made us very welcome and ensured we had a fantastic stay! The room itself was stylish, large, comfortable and felt very private. The hotel itself felt boutique (in a good way). Breakfast was fantastic, with freshly baked pastries/cakes, homemade yogurt, fresh fruit and eggs cooked however you wanted them: delicious! The location was also good, close to restaurants, cafes, shops and good public transport links: please make sure you also visit Upper Bergamo whilst there!
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect for us.

B&B La Casa Di Campagna - Bergamo - Building
2
9,5 Excellent (283 reviews)
R1 583+
Overview Reviews
Featuring rustic interiors and exposed wood beams, B&B La Casa Di Campagna is 3 km from Bergamo's centre. It offers rooms with an LCD satellite TV, free Wi-Fi and elegant parquet floors. Rooms come with either a private or shared bathroom, which includes toiletries, a hairdryer and a shower. Guests can use the shared kitchen for free, and relax in the living area with a rural fireplace. B&B La Casa Di Campagna is surrounded by green hills and 5 km from Bergamo Train Station. The owners of this family-run B&B are available for tourist and travel information.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is going to sound like an advertisement, but: Bergamo and La Casa di Campagne and its environs are a perfect set of conditions, according to many other tourists besides me, perfect for all demographics but wonderfully perfect for the budget-minded who still want luxury, kind hosts, and the serenity of silent public paths in forested hills, while still within walking distance of the medieval/Renaissance walled city of Bergamo. There's a bus "1C" that passes from the airport, through the old city to its route's end at Colle Aperto, the walled city's "back gate", then a beautiful walk in the Italian hills to the BnB, or arrange with them for a pick-up. The quality of being near _and_ remote, it's quiet, clean and charmingly renovated, nestled in 43,000 hectares of forested public park, fresh air, with the same famous water of San Pellegrino, which is nearby .... Bergamo is already an auspicious destination because of the promotional air fares (for example, 11 euros from Bordeaux to Bergamo with minimal baggage, which I found easily with Google Flights). Among the museums, Carrara (classic) and GAMeC ("pop"), there is Botticelli, Raphael, D.Ferrari, G.Ferrari, Bergognone, Tallone and Kandinsky.  The other thing about La C.deC. is the proprietors there. They are the best examples of grace and kindness, in a country known for these things. I saw in Trip Advisor a few months ago how much they love Miriam and Laura and it's true.   In my case, I found the BnB looking for the lowest price place to sleep, and to escape the attractions and tourists ... but the city walls, the cobbled streets, Piazza Duomo and the ceilings of cathedral Santa Catarina Maggiore and the the art of the Carrara GAMeC were too much to resist, and I was able to visit these by bus, then return to the fresh air of the surrounding hills, where only a church bell marks the serenely passing hours.
Cons: There just isn't anything to complain about.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place is truly magical. Wonderful decoration, very neat and clean, nice breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really loved this place. The owner was more than friendly. The Location is just perfekt..easy to find..free parking, quit and the best you can walk from there easily to the old town. Just a nice 30minutes walk. And I really can recommand the breakfast in the Morning..perfect start in the day wish fresh coffee! Thanks again.:)

Pros: Staying it this hotel for second time. Always the best around for exploring and sightseeing!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast buffet was excellent!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good and comfortable hotel in the old town.
Cons: The room was looking to the yard of the hotel and when you open the door of the little balcony there is a very bad smell permanently. Not enough daylight in the room.
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff was exceptional providing service. Rooms were modern and clean. Location is great.
Cons: Breakfast was very basic given the level of this hotel and cost. No hot entrees at all and very basic food options. Bathrooms with no enclosure are very unfortunate if one has to use while another is sleeping. The open bathroom concept that many hotels are now doing is terrible.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, food & old city charm
Cons: The bathrooms had see through windows, and we're not separate from the rooms (ie I could see whoever was using the toilet from the bed) might not be the best for couples...
GombitHotel - Bergamo - Bedroom

9,3 Excellent (534 reviews)
R3 816+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at GombitHotel in Bergamo (Citta Alta), you'll be steps from Piazza Vecchia and Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, a computer station, and express check-in. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, nicely & centrally located in the walled old city, has very courteous and helpful reception-desk and breakfast staff. The room was a nice mix of traditional and modern, and comfortable (nice bed!). Daily cleaning was excellent.
Cons: The room's lighting system takes some time to get used to (9 keys per switch!??), and could do with an instructional printout. The bedroom had no mirror(?), and the staircase had no railing. And-- esp. being in Italy-- it was a bit disappointing not to have tomatoes at the breakfasts.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, historic property!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location in the centre of Bergamo Alta.
Cons: It was fairly noisy with church bells ringing and people outside in the street at night.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: By far the best hotel in Bergamo Alta! Very helpful and kind staff who make you feeling at home! Particular design. The building is very old, but the decoration very modern. It‘s a cool mix! Breakfast is absolutely sublime, could not be better! Excellent choice of food, very nice presentation! The location of the hotel is fantastic, you are 2 steps from the most wonderful sights of Bergamo Alta! All in all it is a highly recommendable, memorable first class hotel with only 13 rooms.
Cons: There are 3 things that I dod not like. 1) Due to the extremely central and wonderful location it is a bit annoying if you arrive by rented car. There is no parking right in front of the hotel door, and to find a public parking lot is very difficult if not impossible. My recommendation: flying into Bergamo or Milan and take a taxi to the hotel. You do not need a car here as everything is within walking distance. 2) The location of the hotel is fantastic, so very central! The negative side is that at night it is very loud. We both could not sleep till 3 at night, because people down on the street were talking and screaming. The windows do not have a good insonorisation and we woke up quite exhaustedly. This is a big negative point. 3) A detail I did not like at all was the bathroom of room number 9. The bathroom itself was spacious, but the division was not good at all. Just 1 sink and an enormous tap which splashes on the wall, on the mirror, on the floor and on your clothes if you wash your hands. I never saw such a silly tap in all my life. Another bad thing is that the shower has neither a door nor a curtain. If you take a shower it is inevitable tha the bathroom floor ends up to be totally wet. The third bad thing in this bathroom is that there is absolutely no space to put your shampoos, creams and all the cosmetic things that a person who takes care of him/herself needs. There are 2 super tiny shelves and just no space. Yes, that bathroom made both of us very mad. In a hotel with such high room rates I never had such an uncomfortable bathroom. It disappointed us a lot because it is very uncomfortable from A to Z. Very bad job of this architect!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location and lovely hotel.
Cons: Hard to park the car and road to hotel very small.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the overall unique design of the hotel was great.

Pros: Excellent hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Very good breakfast in room with lovely views.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The quiet, the personal touch and the homely feeling!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are amazing. Smiling and helping. The breakfast was good with fresh bread, sausages and cheese. Coffee was made to request and it was a great coffee. Omelette with bacon was delicious as well. Facilities are very good and we found everything we need. View at the morning is amazing, with the small church right in front of you and the sunrise, it was gorgeous. Great terrace to just chill. Big and comfy parking. 20 minutes walk to Bergamo upper city(old town). It is a nice walk. Although we had a car we preferred walking to the old town. Great weather, clean air and good views along the way. Very quite at nights. They have a city shuttle once in a while, we didn't used it but it's a nice gesture! Very good restaurants around! DELICIOUS!
Cons: We were a bit cold at nights. You can't control the temperature in your room. It is a central heating. An orchestra of water heaters and an AC...For us it didn't work. We like fool control over the temperature. I think it is fixable....we asked only once to raise the temperature.

Pros: Very kind staff!!
Cons: Nothing!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hospitality and understanding of our needs. Would definitely go back more than once! Do not miss it!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a bit aside from the city centre and I new the taxi is the only option for our late arrival, but the idea was to spend a nice evening, enjoy breakfast and then hike from the hotel to the old city via picturesque trails. The best breakfast in Italy I ever had. The owner met us, brought us by car to a restaurant and then brought us back. The room was nicely designed and clean, nice view in the morning. One night stand is definitely not enough for the hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place with unusual artistic touches. Very comfortable. Outstanding breakfast, truly excellent. Genial owner, with fine English, who gave us the address of a nearby supermarket and other things we asked for. Good parking on the property.
Cons: This is at the outskirts of Bergamo, and was a twenty minute drive to and from the Upper City. That said, Waze got us there and back perfectly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING! There was nothing not to like! The setting is rural, so nice and peaceful. The decor is super cool. The rooms are extremely comfortable. The bed, pillows and duvet are luxurious. Shower worked fine. Well-stocked mini bar if you need it and the host was super friendly and helpful. My only regret was i didn't get to eat breakfast or dinner there as i'm sure it would have been fantastic. I hope i get chance to stay there again, i loved it!
Cons: Nothing to fault at all! The only thing i would say is you need a car if you are staying there as the location is rural, it's not in the city.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It was wonderful, the breakfast was superb and the owner was top.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Located among green hills just outside the city centre, this b&b is an oasis of peace. I enjoyed the calm and the silence in a very charming atmosphere. The owners run this spotless place with a overwhelming hospitality and good taste. Their amazing breakfast with organic, fresh and local food worths a trip. In other words: simply perfect!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything I just gave a thumbs up to was VERY accurate. The food was SPECTACULAR! I an an admitted food snob. I grew up with all that has become fashionable in America. I had it before everyone else. However, the quality and freshness of the meals were excellent. It WILL be my go to place to stay. I am easy to rate, but make no mistake if a place is not clean I would be hard. I rate restaurants by the way a bathroom is kept. That tells me a lot. Speaking as a first timer to Bergamo and to this establishment I don't give reviews to waste my time. I give them because they are deserved. To Raffaele and Maria I give them superior marks. As I said, my visit was well served and would make a special trip just to eat there. The food is that good.
Cons: I say what I mean. Nothing touched me wrong. No sugar coating from me. If, you don't like anything then I would say look inward. Most negatives begin with us. Just saying. Use your senses and become like the surroundings. Listen to the nature and let the green ease your mind.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: They could prepare Poha ( Indian dish) , on my request. I never expected . Very supportive and courteous too.

Pros: Nice views, clean rooms, late check-in (at night), classical italian breakfast: good coffee, some ham, cheese, bread, lots of cakes/cookies, basic youghurt & cereals, juices, good coffee (ommlettes etc can be ordered for extra cost), free parking onsite. Great for a one night sleepover if you are travelling by car.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything . Specially the stuff
Cons: Breakfast should be improved.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff and stunning location. Superb food
Cons: The double bed was made by two single mattresses instead of one double
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Lovely place
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel style, location, interesting restaurant, view from the room, comfort, quality/price very good, nice people at the reception
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were extremely friendly especially the reception desk staff and the resturant staff too. My Italian is very basic so I appreciated the fact that the staff, especially the reception staff, spoke perfect English. This is how all hotels should be run so credit should given to the management for stafc training etc.
Cons: I tried to order room service by dialing 0 when it was in fact 9 so a small notice in the room would have been nice and the same for the Spa prices which if we had realised was only 20 Euros for guests, we would have utilised earlier in our stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with nice green surrounding and nice view. Quet, clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable. I higlhy reccomend it.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was extremely clean, and the staff was very friendly. The room was neat and beyong clear. We needed help to get back to Bergamo central stations and the girl who worked at the reception drew us a map and explained everything in detail. All in all, great experience.
Cons: Despite all the good things, the hotel is hard to get to. We arrived late in the evening so we needed to take a taxi to the hotel. Taxi from Bergamo airport takes you there for about 25-30 euros, and that is only 7km away which is too much in my opinion. Hotel can arrange transportation for 20euros, but still that is too much.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for airport. Great staff and the fastest checkin ever. They are really prepared.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the twice ,the first on arrival and then again before the flight back. Both the times, the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no parking problem and the wifi was just fine, The breakfast good and tasty, Since we had an early morning flight back, we were served a full breakfast at - 4:30am. This excellent service we got, made this hotel one we will never forget. Thanks to you all!

Pros: The breakfasts were very nice and there were a lot of things to choose! The room was clean and spacious, the beds were very comfortable. Great location :)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Top quality accommodation and service. Great location
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Interesting and funny experience to find the key like I was in a game. Clean, tidy, orderly. Extra points receives because the property has its own parking (even it was 10€/day). We stayed in the ap Topazio&Acquamarina which was nice & confy. We had a bottle with water in each room. And a coffee&tea machine. The beds were ok. Good breakfast, not spectacular, but quite diversified.
Cons: I dislike that the breakfast it was just till 9.30. It was very noisy in the morning because of a man mowing the grass and the cars are passing by under our windows (the ap was near the street). In the evening when we arrived it seemed strange, cold, like it was nobody. (In the morning the feeling changed, the place became lively.)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stuff was very friendly, breakfast good, coffee - fantastic! Very clean and nicely accommodated. We came late at night, the property left keys for self-check in which was perfect - we had some delays, so there was no tension that we will be late and no one lets us in.
Cons: I liked everything
6,0 Good
Pros: The room was nicely decorated. Kettle and small tv screen were in the room, with a refillable bottle of water on a daily basis, teas. The room was on the 1st floor. A terrace was available to guests with tables and chairs, nice :) For breakfast a bit limited choice of savoury dishes, good choice of sweets, cakes. Boiled /scrambled eggs were offered not every day tough. Overall positive.
Cons: The room wasn't ready on arrival. We were asked to wait whilst the room was being cleaned. The accommodation was good however there was a great deal of condensation overnight. There was no radiator in the room, there was one in the bathroom with an on/off switch. The very top of the bathroom tiles were dusty. The shower cabin was quite small. A bottle of wine, for ten euros, and a corkscrew I found unnecessary in the room. The bed was made on a daily basis. The sheets were tucked away to a point it was a bit tricky to get under the duvet. Got offered a special dinner, with local delicacies. Paid extra for it, 20Euros per person. There was another family who did the same, on the same evening as us. Sadly the owner wasnt there which could have made the experience better. Felt a bit disappointed. Wasn't really worth the money. At times it was loud, especially when there were conversations taking place in the hall/ no soundproofing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay in Bergamo, sparkling clean room and bathroom, good view from the living room, superfriendly staff, very good breakfast, and private paid parking near the building. Would definitely recommend this place!
Cons: Heater in bathroom didn’t work, so it was cold there

Pros: The receptionist was lovely! This accomodation is fit for one or 2 nights, but for that it is very good.
Cons: It is on the first floor without an elevator, the step is high and steep which is a problem for old people.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a very nice and comfortable room with a balcony and washbasin in the room. Cleaning is every day. There were a great coffeemaker and some snacks. You can also use the tableware and a fridge. The host is very kind and always ready to help. We enjoyed our staying. Cons: The whole place is pretty small, there was noise from the neighbours upstairs.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We were checked-in without additional fees late at night. The staff is really nice and friendly! They have a tiny snack bar and a coffee machine for breakfast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice host, rooms are clean and the location is good. I came during the night and there was no problem with late check-in.
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Joy, the hostess, is superb. She is there nearly all the time, and she is very friendly and helpful without being imposing. This is not a place for parties, it is quiet and peaceful. I liked my room, especially my little balcony. There is a supermarket just across the road, a bar on the ground floor of the same building, a bus stop just a few steps away, but if you are a good walker you can easily walk to the Upper Town and to the center of the Lower Town. You can easily get to the tourist parts of Bergamo and get a feel of how the locals live. I kind of stumbled into a wedding in a church nearby, it was the highlight of the day.)
Cons: I saw a comment about cold water in the shower; sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, but hot water always comes in the end. There maybe some noise in the yard early in the morning, so if you are sensitive to noise bring earplugs.

From airport its direct bus to close bus stop. 15minutes walk to train station which has direct connection to Milano.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location! In between old and new city. Rooms have all amenities.
Cons: Staff needs to smile more and better training at customer service. Was sad to experience two of them chatting to each other while checking us out. We were then only ones there and still had repeatedly ask to get the luggage stored. The hotel MUST GET HAIRDRYERS! Whatever the thing is on the wall?! Please don’t do it to a paying customer
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good location, breakfast.
Cons: Standard room was old style. A noisy big fan in the backyard. Dog in the breakfast room...
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were comfortable as in the bed and bathroom very good. No air conditioning which was not good as room was airless. To get any air in room had to leave full patio door open as no window option. Worked ok based on time of year. Have no idea what would be like in summer.
Cons: Did not like the lack of air in room. Did not like the lack of facilities in hotel for guests as no where to sit and have a drink in comfort. The restaurant only for eating with no option for drinks and minimum spend in restaurant €40 PPS. Very poor and have never experienced this any where else. It's a first!!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I choose this allocation to spend one night between my flights from Bergamo Airport. The guest house is situated 30 minutes on foot from the airport entrance, although it might be not easy to find it, the day before arrival the host Barbara sent me a very informative letter on how to reach them. But anyway I strongly recommend studying the map before going there. Special mention goes to Barbara, the owner, who is very friendly and amiable, she agreed to make the check-in at one o'clock of the night. Again I recommend asking her in advance if you have the similar case. I like the room and quiet location (absolutely no noises and disturbs), wonderful breakfast. They also have a very lovely cat! Don't be frightened if you find it morning in the bathroom!

Pros: Super handy to get an airport pickup, especially since we got in so late :)

Rooms come with either a private or shared bathroom, which includes toiletries, a hairdryer and a shower.
