GM Suites

The bed was great. Soft. Best I've slept on during this trip in Thailand and Laos. I love the location. It's an interesting and different side of Bangkok in a predominantly Arab area. Great restaurants nearby. I don't understand why people are cooking in their rooms stinking up the hotel and inviting cockroaches with so much nearby.

The staff is inattentive other than the guards outside who do a great job. There was rarely a greeting entering or exiting and the desk staff often had earphones on. Housekeeping was inconsistent -- missing items the people before me had eaten from the minibar, not enough towels for the number of people in our family, trash in the hallway outside people's rooms, and because of all of this COCKROACHES in the kitchen, bathroom, and entryway. Gross. It's lazy and unacceptable. I love the location and bed, but will not book here again. As for the breakfast, it matches the rest of the service. The breakfast staff always seemed unhappy. There were only a few items compared with what you'd expect at most other hotel breakfasts. This is not a cheap hotel. I might expect this at a cheap hostel with shared facilities, but for over $150, is certainly expect better.
