Pros: The breakfast lasts until 10:30. We arrived at 10 and there were no croissants left at 10:20. We indicated that and the hotel staff baked more croissants (btw, the best I have ever tried), even though it was just before the restaurant closed. We booked a room and it was an apartment with 2 rooms and a kitchen instead. The food at the restaurant and beer are great. My kids loved the swimming pool. The sauna area is great too.

Pros: Great facilities in a charming friendly hotel. The restaurant was outstanding, with a attentive service and amazing quality food.
Cons: Our room was totally overheated during the warm weather of recent weeks. Unfortunately, without AC or fan, finding a good night sleep was close to impossible. On a couple of occasions the staff attitude showed a lack of good training. Being greeted at breakfast with a sharp and snotty comment was somewhat offensive. The trainee at the reception had to call for help after initially warning me in a threatening tone that we „must“ expect a charge for wanting to cancel a room. Not really the way to phrase in such a harsh way. Luckily, the very professional and super friendly lady colleague took this conversation over. Thanks.

Pros: Not much at this time. I stayed at this hotel before in the past and had a better memories about it. The location is fine.
Cons: I booked two double rooms, one with single occupancy. Bet we got one double and one single room. Both were terribly small. The breakfast is rather poor and super crowded around 9. If you come early it's fine, if you come when everyone comes you might not find a table. The staff was not really helpful either. Young guys at the breakfast were almost hiding from us, and the lady at the he reception while checking in was almost rude and very impatient. Also someone left a used razer in the shower and the cleaning didn't remove it, so it was a very unpleasant surprise, when I wanted to take a shower. No way I'll stay again.

Cons: We stayed during a heatwave daytime temperature 37c. Our room was at the top of the hotel and was unbearably hot with no air conditioning. In normal circumstances the room would have been good.

Pros: The setting is stunning . Surrounded by countryside , trees and obviously on the lake. The hotel itself is lovely , clean and beautifully furnished . The staff are very friendly and despite the language barrier did their very best to help when needed. The restaurant provided a good and varied menu and the breakfast buffet was plentiful therefore set you up for the day . I stayed 3 nights in order to attend a friends wedding ( at another venue) The hotel ensured my stay was very relaxing , I was able to hire a bicycle and go explore which made my stay even more enjoyable.

Pros: Anything i asked for (an iron and ironing board - you'd be amazed how much an issue this is in some hotels), was no problem. Check in and out was hassle free and breakfast bountiful!! Great and friendly staff

Pros: Fantastic breakfast at a super location, and nice bar also. Also very nice they had put up two bowls for our dog and a blanket for her to lay on. Also great baby bed with everything in it. Our own bed also very comfortable with nice pillows and duvet!
Cons: Too bad we could not get a table in the restaurant, it looked like a nice place! We visited a nearby restaurant which the hotel recommended and which was also good. Maybe they should get air condition for the hallway and rooms as it was quite warm in there, but okay in our room after we opened the windows. The room also had too many spiders for my husbands taste, but at least I didn’t have to worry about mosquitos ;)

Pros: The rooms were clean and comfortable. The train didn't bother us as much as other people wrote here.
Cons: We were a little surprised to know that the double was had another separate bed room. We didn't use it but perhaps of we knew then we wouldn't order additional room. There is no air conditioning in the hotel and no meshes on the windows. So for the hot days you should bring something to protect you form the mosqitos.

Nice staff and communicative, I will come back :) Beds where nice, breakfast very nice and tasty, natural experience and very nice by the See. Pros: This was our second stay at the Haus am Meer (we had been there the year before), and I was glad to see that the hotel had improved on the things that we noted last year (mainly about the WLAN - which is now up to a good standard, so no more issues there). Apart from that, everything else was up to the high standards we noticed last year - very friendly and competent personnel, great breakfast, a very nice room, with good beds and all the facilities you like to see. Add to that the great location, and you have one of the top spots to spend a few days in Bad Zwischenahn. Highly recommended.

Cons: Some of the staff were very rude and uninterested.The restaurants chief refused to serve dinner for a 2-minute delay and left us hungry all night.The receptionist made 4 mistakes while making out the invoice at the time of check out. Although we approached her in an understanding manner, she got very angry because she did so many mistakes and did the same work several times and displayed a very rude behavior to us. This was the 7th trip to Bad Zwischenahn and the first stay at this hotel but never gonna stay there any more. Definitely not recommended.

Pros: The room was excellent, every detail carefully thought out. Lovely view from the balcony. The room was clean and cool even in the heat . The service from staff was excellent in their manner and efficiency. They were knowledgeable and helpful with enquiries. The outside area was relaxing and designed for comfort and atmosphere. The indoor areas were also good. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Cons: There was only one serving spoon for the egg ,for the vegetarian one and the one mixed with meat.

Pros: This was our fourth visit (at least, I start to lose count ...), because the hotel is situated ideally to visit friends and family in the area. Apart from that, the location offers a peaceful stay, right by the lake, with more than enough opportunities for cycling and walking, plus lots of Spa- and Wellness-offers nearby. All in all a great spot for a nice and relaxing holiday. Our overall impression of the hotel wasn't altered by our latest visit: As always, the friendly and highly competent personnel went out of its way to make our stay as comfortable as possible; the breakfast is one of the best in its class, rooms, beds and bathrooms are spotlessly clean and tidy, you get free parking and the WiFi has actually improved over the years. We had booked one of the two suites of the hotel, and those rooms are massive, with seating area for up to 6 people, diner table for six, separate (large) bedroom, and huge bathroom (shower and bathtub, two sinks ...). During former stays we have also seen the other two room categories, and they are just as nice, albeit a bit smaller (and less pricy). All in all, it was a relief to see that the high standard has not dropped one bit - so a return is definitely in the cards.
Cons: Just as an information for future guests: From January to March the Hotel Management offers "Kohlfahrten", which can involve a lot of alcohol. That means in turn, that some nights can get noisier than others.

Cons: There was only 1 comfortable chair, the shower was a bit small. And the pillows too thin. There should have been more staff-especially in the evening.If you wanted to have something to eat others had to wait a long time to get a drink. A proper restaurant menu would have been nice. Great terrace.

Cons: There is only one type of room you can book for this hotel. It says you can get lake view when booking this room. However when I wrote them for having a preference for lake side and to ask if they had a baby bed available (I had to write four times before getting an answer, in German while I wrote in English!) they said a lake side room would cost extra. We paid jackpot price to find out we had a tiny window with only lake view if you stood in the very end of the corner of the room!! Def not worth it and worst communication I ever had with a property.
