Hartwell House is a wonderful place to visit and stay at. It is also a well-preserved historical country house. I really like its gorgeous lounges.
The doorknobs in bathroom should be repaired.
The staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient. The public rooms were splendid.
I was taken aback to find that my small single room without breakfast cost the same as the large double rooms my friends had with breakfast included. When I questioned this, I was told that it was because I had booked with booking.com and that nothing could be done. And the breakfast, costing 22.50, was good but not great. On the Sunday morning the hot food, apart from fried and poached eggs, was all in hot dishes, so the bacon was dried up.
I need light brightness cos I can't see outside it was dark I vwas glad there was light standing outdoor
Hone we enjoyed it with our life experiences
The large drawing rooms especially the one with the real fire. Breakfast good. Staff very attentive and helpful.
Hot water not so hot for showers.
The main house was beautiful with a charm and warmth that took you back in time. The service from staff was superb, expecially the man at the front gate.
We were recommended this because of the location. Howerever we were in a little cottage away from the main house which was tired and need of a good refit to be on par with simular locations. Food at dinner was outstanding, but drinks were overpriced. I would have expected a more experienced mixologist to make the cocktails at the price being charged. Average quality. Lunch was served in a dark and uninviting room with wet seats from people sitting in swimwear from the spa. My wifes trousers were ruined as the damp chair left colour from the wet chair. Food for lunch was poor to average. Be careful with pre authorised creditcard transactions. I need another break to get over the stress of the hotel charging me the full amount twice.. Still not resolved!! our friends that we travelled with had the same issue
