They did not have a car available and I had to pay taxi to go to their location. Very rude people. They did not want to identify themselves when I arrived at the off airport site. No rep at the airport. It was very disappointing and misleading. I was stranded at the airport and had to book a car with New Look at the rate of $ 225.00 per day for a small SUV. Extremely disappointed with my experience. I attempted to reserve a rental vehicle and was told that a credit card was required. I had a valid debit card with sufficient funds available, but Avis refused to accept it for the reservation. What made the situation even more frustrating was that no alternative solution was offered. I understand companies have policies, but customer service should be able to provide options or accommodations, especially when a customer is ready and willing to rent a vehicle. Instead, I was simply turned away without any effort to help me complete the reservation. This experience was inconvenient, frustrating, and a complete waste of time. If you don’t have a credit card on hand, be aware that you may not be able to rent a vehicle, and don’t expect much assistance in finding a solution.Reviewed Jun 9 2026

I reserved an SUV. Upon arriving I was given an Electric SUV without being told it was an electric vehicle. I didn't notice until I started to leave. when I returned inside i was told they didn't have an SUV and was asked if I could wait until one was returned by another customer. Totally unsatisfactory. I settled for a smaller, less comfortable vehicle and it wasn't until i started to get love-bugs smashing into the windshield that I found the windshield wiper fluid was empty and the wipers in need of replacement. Sometime later in the trip the car reported a low tire pressure and I found someone before me had put a plug in the left rear tire but had not done a very good job so it was slowly leaking. When i returned the vehicle I made the agent aware of the problems with the car and let him know I filled the wiper fluid reservoir with a bug removing type washer fluid and that he needed to have the tire properly serviced so as not to strand the next customer. Nothing for nothing but the dealer didn't even offer a discount coupon for the next rental or even a simple "Thank you."Reviewed Jun 8 2026

I scheduled the drop-off downtown Paris before 8 p.m., but while trying to return the car, I discovered that the closing time for Saturday was 5 p.m. I had to call Avis to find a location to drop the car off at. I was able to return it, but I had to drive from downtown Paris to Orly Airport in Paris. My only issue was that I was allowed to schedule the car's drop-off at a time when the business was closed.Reviewed Jun 7 2026

I booked a car rental for 96 EUR through Kayak. Upon arrival at Avis Zadar, I was told that without purchasing their mandatory insurance (35 EUR/day) or providing a credit card hold of 4000 EUR (which exceeds my card limit), I could not pick up the car. I had valid travel insurance covering the deposit, but it was rejected. This condition was not clearly disclosed during the booking process.
