7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok...location nice, but would not reccomend to anyone who has trouble walking up hill/steep incline...
Cons: Was noisy at night and early hours of the morning sometimes....
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was nice, continental with pancakes, toast and boiled eggs - assortment of teas and fresh coffee. The views from the rear of the property over Autun were lovely and the host, Philippe was very knowledgeable about the area and gave tips on places to visit. My young daughter took advantage of the trampoline, she was very impressed!
Cons: The room was large and clean although the linen and towels were a little dated and could do with renewing. These are small details as the quiet surroundings suited perfectly after a long drive through Italy for our stopover.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, clean and comfortable room and bathroom, delicious breakfast with fresh crepes.
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Cons: toilet out in the hall

Pros: Very friendly guest house. Philippe, his family and staff take a genuine interest in their guests and made me feel very welcome. There is a lovely view over Autun and it is very close to a network of footpaths into the woods and hills. It is a very pleasant walk into Autun.

Pros: Great place, friendly owner, fantastic breakfast with as many fresh made crepes as you can eat! Amazing view.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Room was large and clean. Breakfast was fabulous, the host bakes her own bread. It is quite close to Autun and has great views out over the town.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was actually in their adjacent building, Hotel de la gare. Newly refurbished. Room was large, clean and spacious. It was very cold inside when we arrived on a cold December night, but the heating was very efficient, so soon warmed up. Helpful staff. there is a small restaurant and bar in the Hotel du Commerce and you're only five minutes' walk from the centre, with plenty of restaurants. (Try the nearby Chateaubriant if you like steak). Big advantage is there is an off-street parking garage at the hotel and plenty of space opposite if that's full.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Well located by the station and also easy to find in the car. On site free parking. Quick helpful responses from staff. Bathroom basins looked new and nice. Clean sheets. Very tidy. Nice old photos on the walls.
Cons: No staff onsite on Sunday after 4pm, when we arrived. The restaurant was closed on Sunday night. It didn't say this on the hotel profile. Only found after AFTER we'd booked and paid. Our names were not on the sign board list of expected residents, which indicated room numbers. So we didn't know if our booking had been cancelled or made on the wrong day, and there was noone to ask on site. Quite panic-inducing with tired children with us. No family rooms available so we'd booked a double and a twin and requested connecting rooms - none available but were told prior to arriving that we'd have rooms next door to each other, but the room numbers sent in the email were in completely separate wings of the hotel. I emailed from my phone and got a quick call back, with the right room numbers. Phew. Very noisy water pipes in the night - when other hotel users used the bathroom in the night the pipes made a frightful noise for ages. Shower head didn't stay in it's clip - kept falling on the floor of the cubical. This explained the black chips all over the shower tray, which looked like black mud from outside the cubical. Peeling paint on the skirting. Outside the window was a small courtyard (for staff) with table, chair and a large pot holding about 200 cigarette butts. Yuck. Clean them up. They smell.
Hotel Restaurant La Tête Noire - Autun - Building

8,2 Excellent (317 reviews)
R1 354+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Restaurant La Tête Noire in Autun, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Musee Rolin and Cathedrale St-Lazare. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location of the Logis De La Tete Noire is ideal. Right in the centre of Autun. We happened to stay there on a Thursday night and the Friday market was in the otherwise parking lot just around the corner. Excellent! We were well positioned to walk to the central city sights such as the stunning Cathédrale St-Lazare. The room was fine but small, and the bed comfortable. Nothing special but perfect for our needs. We had dinner at the hotel and enjoyed our meal.
Cons: When we asked the young gal who checked us in where we could park our car, she waved and said down the road. Where down the road? Just down the road was the answer. We tried to get more details (my husband speaks French) but none were forthcoming. She seemed very uninterested in helping us. In the end we parked in a lot quite a distance away. After walking around exploring the town, we discovered what looked like a parking lot very near the hotel. No sign to indicate it was a public parking lot though. When we asked another person at the desk, she said that that was indeed a lot we could use.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff., Great food., Everything worked.
Cons: Had to pay with cash but there was an ATM close by
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice small authentic hotel. Big room. Very close to the central square
Cons: No air conditioner, but there was a fan to compensate
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Brilliant room, great food great service. Wish I could live there
Cons: Car parking is a bit of a problem. There is an open public space on the right just as you approach the hotel,(It is a one way street} Great if a space is available on arrival but otherwise just park on street until one becomes available. It is free and appears secure and since it is right next to the hotel, no real problem.
7,5 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed. Location fairly close to centre and pedestrian area, 5-10 min walk to cathedral. But the hotel is located on the main road. While the window completely keeps out noise it is not possible to sleep with the window open.
Cons: Wifi was very poor. Had to re-enter password every few minutes and it was very slow.
7,5 Good
Pros: Good food
Cons: Room and bathroom rather old fashioned

Cons: The hallways need some maintenance.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Whilst this hotel is superbly located in Autun & has wonderful views of the town from the beautiful gardens the property is dated & in need of refurbishment !! Our room was disappointing - a miss match of furnishings & decor and this is the first hotel I have been in that did not have either a shower curtain or screen on the bath which obviously makes it difficult to shower without spraying water everywhere !!! This hotel is not worth the cost & we were disappointed !
9,0 Excellent
Pros: #1 We found front-desk staff helpful and courteous. Young woman allowed us to have a picnic in the scenic garden upon our arrival (by train Paris to Dijon/car to Autun). #2 Our waiter and his staff @ dinner in the hotel were professional and knowledgeable. Food tasty. #3 Check-out process easy and accurate. Ann J. Anderson
Cons: Would you consider removing the 7 euro fee for parking a car for the more expensive rooms?
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location, in upper, old town, 100 yards from the cathedral . Clean and modern facilities. Friendly staff. Quite. Good breakfast .
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like

Free Wi-Fi access is provided in the entire building. Parking is available in an enclosed courtyard and a buffet breakfast is served daily. The Hôtel des Arcades is a good base for exploring the region of Morvan and its Gallo-Roman sites.
7,9 Good
Pros: Hotel was clean. 10 minutes walk to Autun centre.,great town.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and convenient for everything I wanted to do.
Cons: Was a bit difficult finding someone to check in. Then had difficulty getting back in after going out for a meal. Luckily some other guests arrived back and had the key code to get in which I wasn’t given. Was an anxious moment
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast for 7 euros was average.
Cons: This is a rundown place opposite the station, and unfortunately on the main truck highway. With windows therefore closed, and no aircon (which I knew), it was pretty fetid, especially as it smelled of smokers. Their butts were, in fact, flicked out the window onto a ledge, and constituted the view. Lighting was appalling; I figure if you can add a telly, you can put in some lights! The shower was hand-held over a bath, with nowhere to attach so you have to shower one-handed. There's no kettle. You'd do a lot better in the centre of town, but if you have to stay close to the station, ask for a room OFF the street. There's no lift, but that was known to me. Don't understand this being called "comfort room" when it was anything but.
3,8 Mediocre
Cons: Old facilities and old smell.
5,5 Okay
Cons: Room decor & furnishing didn't reflect the images I'd seen on Website. Bathroom very small & access into the room somewhat limited, door couldn't fully open.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Not much I'm afraid
Cons: The lady on reception was the rudest I've ever known, rooms weren't clean or comfortable. I've stayed in the past and it was fine, it's really gone down hill!
7,5 Good
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Noise from the movie theatre next door. No sound proofing in the rooms.
7,1 Good
Pros: Good location opposite the railway station.
Cons: No tea or coffee facilities - e.g. a kettle to boil water.
