Close to the main tourist attractions. We had mixed feelings about this property. It is a series of courtyards with a lot of colours and an enclosed garden. Friendly and helpful staff. They kept our bag for a few hours after checking out. On the other hand the room we were given was close to the reception and people were starting even at 5 in the morning going out with their wheeliy luggage making a lot of noise on the cobbles.
Our room was spacious but the bathroom did not have much privacy. We found the bed a bit hard too.
A really cool hotel, on the rustic side, but perfect if you look for authentic local places. Location is great- really close to lots of good restaurants and the main centre of Arequipa.
Super picky, but if I had to pick one thing it would be nice to have some fresher towels.
The colours are phenomenal throughout , there are lots of internal courtyards, gardens, balconies, all in bright reds, deep blues, warm yellows... We unexpectedly arrived very early in the morning and the night porter was happy to check us in, the room was already made up which was fantastic and unexpected. The location is ideal, right in central amongst all the action but still quiet and peaceful.
The internet Access is poor. From every part of the hotel. Is practically useless.
The buffet breakfast was delicious. The breakfast ladies were sweet and attentive, and the eggs were lovely. An exceptional range of fresh fruit was on offer, the bread was fresh, butter instead of margarine was provided. Extra towels were provided on request.
The male receptionist when we arrived was very suspicious, asking for payment in cash only, saying the 'Visa machine' was broken. The same receptionist also seemed to be in cahoots with the taxi driver we'd booked for our airport transfer, increasing the price by 50%. When challenged, he backed down, payment was made via card the following morning, and the taxi fare was reduced, but the whole episode left a bad taste in the mouth. Additionally, hot water wasn't guaranteed - we had to run the tap on full hot for at least 5 mins before the water warmed up sufficiently for a shower.
