Great location, lovely cafés around.
Cold room with only a small heater, small bathroom with no room between the toilet and the sink, we heard every word of people from different rooms, someone was smoking upstairs and it went into our room through the ceiling.
Quick responses from the host.
Check-in is available only after 4p.m. (early check-in costs 20 Eur), check-out - before 10 a.m. Honestly, this is terribly uncomfortable. · The apartment was cold. One of the two heating batteries did not work. · The water in the shower was unstable: from very hot to cold, it was hard to regulate during taking a shower. · Awful hearing. We heard every single word of our neighbor who spoke via skype in the middle of the night. The whole place is a former storehouse, that's why, I guess, hearing is so good. · A hair dryer was not in the room. · The first apartment during my stays where in the bathroom there were no at least soap.
The rooms were huge with some facilities to cook your own food ... that’s summarizes the positives of this stay
The property is in a very weird and empty part of Antwerp with minimal people around it so at times it feels unsafe in late night . The property had no good heater except for two small heaters which were too little for the huge room with a pretty high ceiling , we visited in December during Christmas so it was quite uncomfortable with weak heaters . The rooms have thin walls so one can hear your neighbor flushing , laughing , shouting and also other nightly things throughout the night . Our bed was broken with a missing leg, the broken leg was found on top of the cupboard. So pretty much not at all value for the 119 euros I paid for one night .
The view from the top floor was decent. The elevator has a vintage industrial plywood finish.
Hard to believe... There where holes in the wall. Mouse traps where set on both the entrance as on top of the kitchenette (where food would be prepared ). Footprints against the wall next to the bed. Although rented for two persons, there was just one glass, one deep plate and no decent knife for cooking. Dirty drawers and cabinets. Wallpaper coming loose ( between 20 to 30 cm ) on multiple locations inside the room. The rooms are really noisy, when the couple next spoke it was as if they where in the same room as us standing/ sitting next to us. The top gallery got drowned with the first rain, and the window inside the appartment let enough cold air in, to make heating the place up useless ( so far for isolation ). Ironically the room.got plenty of labels about how they care about the environment. According to the manager this is how it is supposed to be, and strangely the, quite big, holes in and footprints on the walls never got noticed. It is a shame that the hotel, and this room in particular, have a total lack of maintenance and quality control. All by all, I am even surprised the manager still rents this room out.
Bed was old, you could feel the springs. Pots didn't have any lids, and the stove wasn't working properly. And I spent 6 days without them cleaning the room
