Pros: For three days we had our own corner of paradise! Wonderful, attentonate hostesses! We appreciated every bit of this amazing place. Children loved to play with the dog. Breakfast with fresh bagette, delicious homemade confiture and yoghurts. The views, the air, the walks in the forest, the farmers' market and of course les Gorges du Verdon!
Pros: Beautiful and well equipped little studio, very peaceful, far away from the madding crowd. basic breakfast items including homemade yoghurt and fresh baguette. Very clean. Only minus was finding the place - need to drive on a gravel lane, probably difficult in rainy weather. Should improve signage to property.
Cons: Access by car
Pros: The house is in very nice and calm location. The owner was warm and friendly. She explained in detail the most famius spots. The house was clean, with terasse and mountains
Located on the French Alps, 8 km from the Soleilhas-Vauplane ski resort, this hotel features en suite rooms with free Wi-Fi and a traditional restaurant. The centre of the village is 300 metres away. All of the rooms at Lou Jas have a country style with exposed beams. Free toiletries and a hairdryer are provided in the bathroom. A continental breakfast is served every morning in the hotel’s dining room. Homemade bread, foie gras and desserts are proposed at the restaurant, which also offers Provençal food. Several hiking paths can be found nearby and the lake of Castillon is 16 km away. You can go rafting, rock climbing, paragliding and horse riding at the Gorges du Verdon, which are 23 km from Lou Jas.
Pros: Although we arrived early in a rainstorm and woke the owner in the middle of his siesta, he still welcomed us in with great charm. He turned out to be the person who worked magic in the kitchen, unusually and wonderfully bringing some dishes out personally to each table to make it a truly engaging dining experience. His trout with lemon and almonds was a really delicious thing.
Cons: Our tiny bathroom smelt rather of drains - perhaps caused by the heavy rain all evening, but the quirky fitted bedroom, yummy food, the very good window flyscreen and the lovely roses in the garden more than compnsated for this small deficiency.
Pros: Friendly and fantastic food
Pros: perfect location easy to find with good parking and a very good restaurant
Pros: Great place, hidden gem with fantastic owner. Lovely little restaurant. There is also a fantastic 4.5h walk just behind the property.
Cons: Love the property however the little village has nothing else to offer. It would be great to have another bar around.
Pros: Andre', the host and chef, runs a very cozy establishment. We had a quiet room on the back with a view of the garden, and a delicious meal (with massive portions) in the restaurant. Excellent WIFI ...even in the garden!
Pros: Great restaurant
Cons: Tiny room
Pros: Good restaurant on site, nice surrounding. Simple quite comfortable room, no extras. Polite and helpful host.
Pros: Owner was very helpful & very nice. Went out of his way to help. Speaks some English. Great value & very clean & comfortable.
Cons: Liked it all.
Pros: We own a bike touring company and spent the week scouting a route thru the Alps and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into during our stay at Lou Jas. This place is a hidden gem, a place I hope to take my children to one day. The service was exceptional, the food was 5 star (OVER THE TOP QUALITY/AMAZING!!!!!), the room was perfect with a beautiful view of the mountain and the garden. We wished we could've stayed longer. Next year, we will bring 16 of our guests to stay here and can't wait for our next visit.
Pros: Nice place to stay for a relaxing weekend. Clean, quiet place in a great location. This hotel has a charming atmosphere.
Cons: Poor english in the hotel, even the menu was only in french so couldnt make choices for dinner

Pros: Great location in the middle of the town Castellane, which is the ideal town to discover the beautiful Verdon area. Nice small campsite with excellent chalet and friendly, English speaking staff and reasonabally priced. No swimming pool but you really don't need that with the nice warm water from the Castillion Lake within 10 minutes by car. Won't hesitate to return.
Cons: Some noise from the main road and parking lot next to the campsite in the early morning, but not really disturbing.
Pros: Location in the center of beautiful Castellane. The mobile home was new and very functional. We had a very nice stay.
Pros: It was truly a great campsite and i honestly couldnt fault it. It was extremely clean and the staff were very accommodating.
Pros: The location is impeccable, very close to the centre of the town and all the main roads, easy wander in for dinner and supplies, amazing view of the Roc
Cons: Lack of power in the 'superior chalet' meant that we could only run one of the tiny heaters at a time or the safety switch would kick in and drop all power. No bread/butter knives. Wifi only available in the main house area. The area needs a clean up, very long grass etc Any issues raised with the owner weren't well received.
Pros: Perfectly located for activities in and around Gorges du Verdon. Clean, compact cottage with all that’s necessary for rustic country living. Friendly neighbors on the campsite and helpful staff.
Pros: The place
Cons: Host could be friendlier.
Pros: What a perfect place to stay, We booked a 2 bed cabin but were kindly upgraded on arrival to a larger one. Thank you!! The place was spotless. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Location is perfect - walking distance to Castellane and yet not a sound of traffic (we were at the rear of the site). Would defo recommend as its such good value for money.
Cons: Bigger mugs to drink tea from! Thanks
Pros: Breakfast was worth the money. Very adventurous and everyone was very friendly.
Pros: Friendly gentlemen welcomed us and told us all about the area. Only stay one night had all we needed
Pros: The mobile home was new and the camping is quiet
Pros: Price, location vs the city Calm Small and familial camping The owner is super kind and helpful I recommend it
Cons: May be no tv in the mobile homes
Pros: Great location, very reasonable price and super friendly!
Pros: Originally only staying 2 nights but so happy added an additional day. We stayed in a 2 bedroom mobile home. We liked that it was located near a river, which we could hear very well at night. The kids enjoyed playing in the river and playground. There is bread service in the morning. Finally, Eric and his father are very helpful and spoke our language, English very well.
Cons: We leave liked everything about it.
Pros: Good location. Very helpful staff. Big Thank You to Eric for all help and valuable hiking recommendations. Caravan was clean and comfortable. If possible would stay there again and definitely recommend it to a friend.
Pros: Very nice base to explore the area, including the local village. The owners were very welcoming and were passionate about what they do - always attending to the guests. Definitely a place to go back in future.
Pros: The campsite is situated in the most beautiful little town so it’s very good value for money. Staff were very hospitable and always keen to help and advise on things to do in the area. Absolutely loved my stay here. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The only negative would be that the caravan got very cold at night - with the heater on full so I can possibly only advise to have an additional heater? I’m not quite sure
With a stay at Auberge du Teillon in La Garde, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Gorges du Verdon and Verdon Regional Natural Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This small Auberge is in a quaint village. The rooms are small and either overlook the highway or the town. We watched townspeople play patonk (french lawn bowling) in the park just behind the hotel. There is ample free parking.
Cons: There is no air conditioning so in the summer heat the rooms were a little hot. We needed to leave the windows open. This meant dealing with light from the hotel sign and noise and fumes from the highway (but only until midnight when both the light and traffic turned off). The rooms do not have a fridge and are quite tight. The beds are quite hard.
Pros: Located near the street is very easy to find. What's more, there are parking spots so having a car is not a problem. The staff is very nice and it was easy to communicate in English :) The room was simple but clean.
Cons: Close to the street so can be a little loud if you want to go to sleep early (when the restaurant is open and cars are passing)
Pros: Very good food and the people working there are the best. So friendly! Very clean room and great value for money.
Cons: Nothing at all it is perfect
Pros: The place is about 5 km east to Castellane. Very easy to find. The food there is good.
Pros: Staff is super nice, friendly and welcoming. Had many parking spots so perfect for someone travelling with a car (otherwise a bit far from places to visit). Room was nicely spacious and clean. Restaurant is very good and affordable, breakfast quite basic but I’d say it’s worth the money. Extra plus for the cutest hotel dog Gibson.
Cons: The doors are very loose so they make a lot of noise when people move in the corridors or close their room doors, and walls are also pretty thin, so you might need earplugs. No air con so had to keep window open, and that also made the door move. Cleaning lady came in without knocking once (but only once).
Pros: Soundproof rooms, wifi, elevator
Cons: There is no a/c which is almost unbearable during the summer heat!! The room was VERY small and basic, and too pricey for what we got. Also the location... there is not much to do here at all.
Pros: quit small and quiet place! and near big town! it was good choice to stay here!
Cons: wifi is unstable, so if you want to check on internet you should check everything beforehand.
Pros: If you plan to visit the Gorges de Verdon and/or Castellane, this little family-run hotel is a very good choice. The hosts are very friendly, and the room was clean and had everything we wanted for a one night sleep.
Cons: The breakfast could have had more variety.
Pros: Run by two brothers, one was the excellent chef and the other was on the desk and was very friendly and helpful. We were doubtful of our choice when we first arrived, but we really enjoyed our stay.
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and made our stay really enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
With a stay at Hôtel du Levant, you'll be centrally located in Castellane, within a 5-minute drive of Gorges du Verdon and Verdon Regional Natural Park. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and an elevator. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: Parking on site. Breakfast. Location.
Pros: Great location, very helpful staff. Good food
Pros: Fantastic location and pretty hotel. The family room for 4 is spacious
Cons: The pillows are terrible,.too soft and gave me a neck ache the next day. Family room only have a switch for TV and to charge 4 phones is a nightmare. We have to use the switch in the bathroom.
Pros: A good location
Cons: The room was very basic, when we arrived the hotel was closed with a sign up that told us that it would be open at 3:30pm. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm. We spoke to the staff in the restaurant & they were very unhelpful and rude.
Pros: The location is great, right in the middle of the village The bathroom was newly refurbished, clean and comfortable
Cons: The hotel vibe feels old but not charming old, the rooms were a little small for a "Grand Hotel" and could use a little refurbishment
Pros: The location is fabulous and a bonus of a secure garage for your motorcycle The food, whilst not cheap. Excellent quality and with good service
Cons: A bit over priced for the standard on offer Some if the staff were not very attentive but other went the extra mile You pay for restaurant food separately. Apparently two businesses
Pros: The bathroom and shower was really good and clean. The parking in the garage was also ok. The breakfast was good. They had a band playing that night which was very entertaining.
Cons: Getting and paying for drinks from when sitting outside was a little confusing...you can order from the staff but you have to pay with someone at the reception that had no receipt of what was ordered and what had already been paid at the bar?? I just thought that could be potential for misunderstandings.
Pros: Great location Cozy place Historical object close location
Pros: The hotel was well located, downtown Castellane. Our family room was clean and spacious, so was the bathroom. The hotel is simple but comfortable enough.
Cons: We felt like the breakfast was a bit expensive.
Pros: Good food. Nice view over the square. Good parking. They gave us a fan. Motorcycle trip
Cons: Music till late at night from downstairs. For the price there should be aircon.
You'll be centrally located in Castellane with a stay at Hotel Du Roc, and 1 minutes by foot from Verdon Regional Natural Park.
Pros: Location excellent overlooking town square and free parking in the street. (Off season)
Cons: Wifi drops out and have to login again
Pros: The position and the staff were excellent
Cons: Lacking wardrobe space
Pros: Rather uncomfortable hard bed.
Pros: It was beautiful , clean and friendly. Excellent value. I was well looked after by lovely people. I would rate it exceptional.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like
Pros: Lovely room with balcony looking out on to the square. Friendly hosts. My bicycle was no problem and locked away securely.
Pros: The breakfast was continental style with plenty of food and tea/coffee/juice. The bread fresh and tasted wonderful. The location is at the main square in the town and is easy to access with a small supermarket across the road for easy shopping when going off for the day.
Pros: The room is quite large and well equipped. Very central location.
Cons: Toilet was stinky for some time. Breakfast is very basic.
Cons: First floor rooms lead to toilets for restaurant so all night we heard customers going to the toilets . Terrible
Pros: Location is central but with no private parking it is a little of a lottery. Helpful staff; good breakfast
Cons: It would have been nice to have had a lift, but carrying cases to the 2nd floor was either good exercise, or we should have considered just how much we needed with us.
