More like a hostel
Layout and rooms are cool and different, staff is kind and helpful and the Thai restaurant is very good.
It's called Not Hotel for a reason... this is more like a hostel, shared rooms, communal bathrooms/showers. We actually paid an extra fee to have a private bathroom but little did we know that did not include the toilet (!) this meant having to dress up and walk down stairs to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. There is barely any storage space and no drawers to empty/store suitcases. It was a cool experience but I would not recommend for anyone seeking a minimum level of comfort. Especially given the hotel-like room rates.

Guests can choose from themed art rooms like Fading Colors, Crow’s Nest, Amsterdam Tram Cart where the bed is actually inside the cart, Crisis Free Zone, and some rooms where the bed is found in a room hidden by a secret book shelf door. There is daily housekeeping provided during guests’ stays. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the rooms and hotel property.
Hotel Not Hotel houses a restaurant. It serves a full breakfast that guests can pay for. It also provides room service during the specified hours. There are tons of restaurants outside the hotel. Guests can find seafood at Barceloneta, Meneer De Wit Heeft Honger has Mediterranean food, and Staring at Jacob is a bar that’s six minutes away. Inside the hotel is Kevin Bacon bar which serves delicious cocktails and some Asian bites.
The hotel is located in the middle of a lot of things guests might like to check out. The Heineken Experience is about a 20-minute walk away. Guests could also use one of the hotel’s bikes to get from the property to where they want to go. Travelers could go to Anne Frank House, the Flower Market, the Van Gogh Museum, and Vondelpark as well.
