Overview

This hotel is on Akureyri’s main street, Hafnarstraeti, less than 2 km from Akureyri Airport. It offers en-suite guest rooms, free parking and views of the Eyjafjörður fjord. Husavík is 90 km away. All guest rooms at Hotel Akureyri feature a 40-inch flat-screen TV and a minibar. WiFi is free. We have an A-la-carte restaurant and an urban farm located inside the hotel, serving our own produce which we grow using renewable energy. In the evening, supper features a meal of the day menu. We do not have a manned reception but a self-service contact-less check-in & out process where guests can either use their own mobiles or a kiosk located inside our reception. Akureyri Church is just a 6-minute walk from Hotel Akureyri, while Hof Cultural and Conference Centre is a 10-minute walk away. Lake Mývatn is less than a 1-hour drive away.

Pros (+) Very cute hotel in a great location. Close to the city center and the waterfront. Great breakfast! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons (-) Rooms were a little dated but they were clean and we'll equipped. Not a big deal for me but thought I would mention it.
