This was the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. Their directions were to call a number when ready to be picked up at Atlanta airport. They didn’t answer several calls. After calling a number I found online I talked to someone in California who had difficulty accessing directions. After asking numerous people at airport where the pickup point was we finally were picked up. All this took almost an hour. When we arrived at the lot, we found AVR in a shack that was in a very large lot that was owned/run by Jiffy car rental. We were the only ones waiting for a car and it took over an hour because the lady was unable to get us checked out because she said they were having WiFi problems. Ultimately, I had to go on their website and input all my information again. Rediculous! The return was also time consuming and weird. I had to go to the back of the Jiffy lot, take a picture of the car, and send an email to AVR before they would pick us up. THE WORST! Never again!Reviewed Oct 13 2024

They did not answer the phone to provide a shuttle. I had to Uber there and upon arrival there were no vehicles available to rent except for 1 with a cracked windshield. They were at least nice enough to give us a ride back to the airport where we rented from a different company.Reviewed Sept 9 2024

They advertised they were an airport van rental company. My flight arrived at 6 pm and when I called to get a shuttle to pick up my van AVR rental was closed (hours are 8 am to 4 pm). I had to rent a car from Avis at the airport and when I called AVR Rental the next day they refused to issue me a refund. Terrible company. Should not be allowed to list their vans on your site alongside normal rental car companies.Reviewed Apr 2 2024

terrible. van was disgusting, features in the van didn't work. not maintained, they tried to scam me by saying i went over the allowed mileage. they tricked me by saying they had unlimited mileage in the listing but told me it wasn't when i picked it up. place is horrible.Reviewed Mar 26 2024

Don't even think about renting from this Company - First off - didn't find out it was off-airport until I prepaid and received the confirmation, then couldn't cancel. Company is under staffed, left standing on the curb at the airport for over an hour waiting for them to pick us up - Employee shows up in her own mini van instead of the Company shuttle. They take more reservations than vehicles. Witnessed four customers arriving to pick up their rental van that they reserved and they were told - "No more vans, sold out". The only reason we got our van was bc I prepaid online. Also, never informed during the reservation process that the 12 & 15 passenger vans are considered "commercial" and you need commercial insurance coverage. Some personal insurance policies cover commercial passenger vans, unfortunately ours did not, so we had to purchase their insurance. Be aware, if your personal insurance does extend to this type of rental, you cannot take the van until they get a copy of your insurance card, who travels with that !?! The van was pretty beat up on the outside, fortunately it ran well. My lesson that I learned, stick with a reputable, well known rental company.Reviewed Jul 10 2023
