Abano Terme hotels

Pros: The facilities are great: swimming pools, jacuzzis, relaxation rooms, ... Excellent breakfast and dinner, with nice waiters.

Cons: It is difficult to reach the hotel from the train station, since there are no buses, but only taxis.

First class pool with amazing spa facilities.we loved the bicycles provided and had used them every day. We ate one dinner at the hotel which was excellent. Better than eating out and even cheaper. The dining room staff is a group of first class professionals. Michael reigns a great team and they are all lovely. In Italy a waiter is a professional. In many countries this is not so. . The bar is great. Fair pricing.good drinks. There was a pianist the second night and I was surprised to hear such a top class artist playing ay the hotel. We hated to leave. In many years we did not get the rest and wellness that the Maioni pazzeto offers. Well done. We will come back.

Cons: At first we got a room facing the air conditioning system of the hotel. They were willing to switch to another room facing the street not without argument. But I have decided to add 45 euro a day for a beautiful gorgeous room overlooking the pool and it was a good decision.

Pros: The hotel is very beautiful. The room is large. The baths/spa are also very nice. Massage is well done. Staff is competent, very welcoming and always ready to listen. Food is delicious. There was also a wine degustation during my stay which made an extremely pleasant social event.

Pros: The rooms were spacious with a balcony overlooking the area. Decor was old-fashioned Italian, which was rather charming. Pools were great, not just for relaxing but also for swimming laps! Breakfast was also super, staff nice & helpful.

Cons: Food was very poor. Was expecting much better quality from a 5 star hotel. Breakfast OK. Dinner very very average. Other guests said the same and that the quality had gone down since last year. I can’t confirm As it’s my first visit but would not recommend the food. Shame as the environment and staff are great. Pizza was literally inedible - better quality from Lidl and that is not an exaggeration.

Pros: Nice location, friendly staff. The hotel is recalling the ambience of a grand hotel, however needs some refurbishing in the rooms. The matresses were very firm and hard. Otherwise would come back.

Pros: Great character and ambience. Facilites were good. Very clean. Staff were over all very friendly and accommodating. Beds were very hard, which i prefer but my family who were with me did not find comfortable. Dinner and service was exceptional. Breakfast was adequate.

Lots of rules, which robe to wear where, cannot have a large bottle of water as they are only for the room etc. A quite rude and snooty bar man who made us feel unwelcome did not try and remedy our experience. Luckily every other member of staff were exceptional which made up for it.

Pros: Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Lots of opportunity to eat healthy food - dairy-free, gluten-free etc food was available. Meals were delicious. Wines of all prices were available. Waiters were nearly all very friendly. Rooms were great. Location was just away from the square, very peaceful and pretty.

Cons: No tea making facilities available and cups of tea were expensive to buy there, twice as expensive as coffee. The pool was lovely and clean, though the water was very warm when the weather was hot. Some building work was going on near the hotel which started at 7 .00 in the mornings. The air conditioning didn't appear to cool the rooms.

Cons: The food in the restaurant was more or less like a bad school dinner. Everything bland and overcooked and we even got charged the nights we didn't go there! Everything in the hotel is dated, especially the clientele! This is not a place to take someone for a romantic spa getaway. The corridor into the spa has little rooms that look like cells in an asylum. The music in the bar was so loud that even in the second floor we could have sung along to it! Dinner finishes serving at 9pm... In Italy?!? Bizarre. I think this hotel was probably very nice and fashionable in the 70s, but has remained stuck in the past. I don't see how anyone below retirement age could enjoy a stay here, and at €250 a night, i feel cheated.

Pros: Great food, great option of late check-out to 18 for 20 Euros, important to enjoy the full afternoon at swimming pool.

Pros: I love this family owned hotel. It is located very close to the center of the town however has its own quietness. I prefer to stay in junior suit which offers more space for gathering with friends. It was my second visit and I am planning to continue coming to Abano every year. Food at Bristol Buja was great!!!

Cons: I wish two things: 1) would like for terme pools are being open longer, like 11pm (23:00) 2) would like for saunas and salt room be heated by 10am and not by 2pm

Pros: Professional staff, very good and modern SPA, huge parking lot, very convenient price.

Cons: Bed not too comfy, all the hotel furnitures (rooms, corridors, hall, restaurant) are old and almost tacky, and probably for the abundant presence of moquette (and for the cleaning), when you enter in the hall or in the breakfast/restaurant room, you realize it smell bad (bleach or something like that). Rooms and bathrooms need refurbishment. In the breakfast room there isn't a coffé machine, so you have to wait the waiter, but during the weekend they can't face the request (I had breakfast without coffé, waiting time was too long).

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged for us to have an early breakfast as we needed to catch an early flight.

Pros: We had stayed one night earlier in the week and on our return we were greeted like old friends. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Spar and hot pool were relaxing and enjoyable. Good location for Abano town, Padua and the Autostrade to Venice or Verona. We enjoyed the entertainment in the lounge each evening. We had a very early departure and appreciated being allowed early access to the breakfast restaurant.

Cons: The air con had been switched off for the winter and the rooms were very hot. The only way to cool them was by opening the windows. This let in the mosquitos with unpleasant results.

Pros: I stayed in a dormitory room, which was very clean and cozy, especially for this price! Breakfast and bar were amazing!

Pros: I really liked the hosted "Happy Hour". I also took a beer from the mini bar, which I disclosed when paying...they said "You can pay that next time". That of course is Italian for "Don't worry about it". They clearly cared more about the customer experience than "nickel and diming" me. That stuck out! Also, they clearly place customer service at a premium. Bonus points for that. The indoor/outdoor thermal pool was very warm, but definitely not hot. There are a few jets that work the kinks out for you if you are considering Abano for wellness.

Cons: The buffets were huge, but for a few of the food items the taste was a bit lacking. Even still...coming back!

Pros: Easy check-in and very pleasant staff. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we also enjoyed a very good evening meal too. The pool was a little smaller than anticipated but was clean and of course very warm. We enjoyed using the complimentary bicycles as the area is very flat and good for cycling.

Cons: We didn't have anywhere to put our clothes apart from some open hangers. The room lacked any storage which was a bit frustrating.

Pros: We had a newly renovated room which was nice size, small fridge, great bathroom, and a balcony. The thermal pool was indoor/outdoor. My husband had a nice massage. Breakfast was excellent with many options including cook to order eggs, juicer, fresh yogurt, excellent pastries.

Pros: The space is beautifully decorated and has a lot of different spaces to hang being if you want to just read a book quietly in the garden, to have a cocktail in the lounge or in my case to work in the computer (plenty of plugs available). An amazing swimming pool with thermal water and a little playground for the little ones gives you all you need facilities wise to make your days really pleasant. The cherry on top of the cake is definitely the staff, available and nice, going the extra mile to make you feel at home, always with a beautiful smile and good conversations! I stayed in a dorm, the facilities are top, all the different plugs and lights you need in the bunk bed, with privacy curtain and really comfortable beds, the bathroom in the dorm is spotless, you even have a kind of chromotherapy shower! My favorite place to stay when visiting Abano!

Robes The pools were lovely and the water temperature perfect.and towels were in the room. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, and they love dogs. Each night they host some event. When I was there it was beer tasting and appetizers. The breakfast buffet is out of this world.

Pros: Everything was extremely well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best I have experienced in Europe. This hotel should be a 5 star given the level of amenities available, facilities, and the professionalism of the staff.

Cons: There are major construction works going on right in front of the hotel. They start very early before it gets hot - forget about sleep at night or rest during the day. Small pool with few jets, but clean! No choice at dinner.

Thank-you for letting our son play the piano. The cleaning of the room was great. Loved the violin music drifting in from outside.

Cons: We missed the spin drier by the pool to wring out the swimming costumes. We wished that smoking would be banned by the pool outside. In our son's room the bathroom door did not shut. Would prefer to have a kettle in the room.

Pros: All staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and service was very good. We had a lovely room with a lovely view. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. We used the bikes to get around which was a bonus. The town had lots of shops and was all very clean.

The lovely woman on the front desk (Mikal??) helped us arrange a visit to the Abbey including transport from and to and when we asked to stay another night she was able to easily accommodate this. We enjoyed the thermal pools and massages. Rooms were very clean and modern and have everything you need, including robes. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the hotel and felt that it was one of the best value stays we'd had in Italy. February seems to be a good month to visit. Highly recommend a relaxing few days here.

Pros: We liked the interior of the hotel and the room (two big bathrooms with toilets made our staying there very comfortable, no need when partner finishes his morning procedures, I had my own bathroom). The breakfast was very tasty and nice addition - good quality Prosecco and brilliant ricotta. The spa zone also satisfied for 100%. There is hamam where there was no people ( I think the staff didn't tell anyone that they have this hamam on the minus 1 floor). The hotel is very calm, quiet. Almost every evening there is alive music show in the hall. At the reception there are Russian speaking staff. Nice cosmetics (bottles with shampoo, balsam, body milk) in the bathroom - very pleasant.

Cons: We had half board and we were disappointed with the dinners. Since 2013 it's quality significantly decreased. The waiters are in a hurry or pretend to be in a hurry and you cant ask their advise about ordered dishes. Also they don't bring some ordered dishes. Menu doesn't reflect how dish will be like. So we recommend you to ask the details of the order. The waiters pay different level attention to different guests. Can include some services in the receipt when you check out (for the services you didn't use or order) There wasn't always enough the towels at the pool zone. We chose this hotel to celebrate my birth. I don't know how its in Italy but at Seyshelles and Spain the hotel staff congratulated me, gave me the birthday cake and it was so impressive and emotional. So I expected from President Terme also some attention to my birthday but no one congratulated me. Thats was mostly disappointing moment.

Pros: It’s an old style atmosphere in the hotel but this is the flair. All personnel, without exception, has been overly nice to all of us. Swimming pools are large and swimming area is well equipped.

For me, a teacher at high school and a lecturer in the college, it was a great advantage.( I really love kids and teens, but our holiday needs complete rest and some silence.)

Cons: It was a birthday present for my mother. Thus, obviously I paid the hotel in full before she even arrived there. At the check out she was asked to pay for her stay!!! I'm outraged! She said that the hotel has been paid already, but the staff denied the fact. She paid in cash and then left. She called them again and told them the hotel was paid and they took the money twice, Theresa denied on the phone as well. I had to call booking.com to ask them to intervene. They did and they said that the hotel apologized for this inconvenience. They did take the money from my card and the cash from my mother. Not professional AT All from a 4 star hotel. -Ants in the room -confused restaurant staff -food was good but the portions hilariously small. - one of the staff members from the restaurant made racist remarks. Not cool at all!

Pros: The room is clean and the beds comfortable. Balcony with nice view. Bathroom clean, comfortable and spacious. Bus to Padua within 200 meters. The spa and swimming pools looked very nice, but we didn't used them (we've visit Padua). Other guests seemed to like these facilities very much. But, the best experience was the hotel diner including a cocktail. Very nice atmosphere and enjoyable. The diner was fabulous and we had the feeling to be in a film set where we all were the actors. An experience we will never forget. Thank you for that.

Cons: The breakfast was not very well organized. Scrambled eggs and bacon and other items not always available (for us important during vacation) and sometimes staff kept us waiting for more then 15 minutes before asking what to drink. There is no place in the room to store your suit case. We had two! So, one on the ground and one in the closet. Airco so now and then squeaking. We had to turn it off during the night.

Pros: Stunning hotel, excellently placed for travelling around on day trips to Venice, Verona, Lake Garda etc. Stunning swimming pools and my son loved the sensory pool. Would not only highly recommend but we plan to return. Staff could not have done more to help going above and beyond when I needed help and were very friendly.

Cons: The room although comfortable and of a high standard is in need of some renovation as it was dated, especially compared the look of the rest of the hotel. I suspect they are renovating rooms as part of a process and even if, when i return, I was in a dated room again there was still nothing to complain about.

Cons: The staff is pretty useless and unfriendly. They are also not very flexible when it comes to payment. The fact that they just took the money out of the cardcard beforehand is pretty bad. Breakfast is a bit of a disaster, you always have to fight for a good table. It's a bit too expensive.

Pros: Very nice and friendly and helpful staff. The room was nice and so was the poolarea and the garden. Tennis court and mini golf. It is a bit retro the very nice way. We enjoyed it a lot. We had planned to stay one night but stayed to nights. Free parking.

Pros: What an amazing hotel, exceptionally great staff, fantastic (locally sourced) food and the hotel catered for my whole family ranging from 10month baby to my 89 year old grandma. A super hotel and gorgeous place. Great pool, mini golf and bikes too!

Pros: Temperature of water in the pool was good. Ladies from reception polite, willing to help. Before we got in the room they presented the hotel and facilities and explained rules for using pool, playing room and others.

Cons: Most of the things are really old here: room furniture, carpets, pool, the hotel itself. Breakfast was poor. Croissants were burned, coffee of low quality. I guess it"s not so bad for older people if they are going there for treatments. We choose it for recreatin and it was not so good.

Pros: Termal swimming pool is great akso the facilities of the hotel are really good. Everything there is clean and nice. Everyone is nice and helpfull.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone I talked to was speaking German, which was very convenient for a German. The prices for massages were reasonable. We had a Shiatsu massage with Fabrizio, which was very nice. They don't offer couples massages. The breakfast buffet offered a lot. I loved the brownies! Our shower head was broken, but repaired within an hour. They offer simple bycicles for rent without charge. The area around the thermal pool is nice and clean. They have a Restaurant, where they offer lunch and dinner - besides breakfast of course, which we didn't try, because it was too expensive for us. A few minutes down the road towards Colli Euganei are some good and cheap pizza places though.

Cons: As soon as we arrived we felt out of place. With mid-twenty and 30 we decreased the average of age drastically. The room smelled of grandpa (not meant in a insulting way, it just reminded me of the after shave of my grandpa) and the furniture looked accordingly. This is not a bad thing or something that should be changed of course, but made us feel a little out of place as I said already. Just putting it out there. Before we stayed here, we stayed at a Camping Village near Venice, where the rooms - especially the bathroom - was better equipped (shower was quite small, but it had a handle for support and a emergency line, which is nice I guess). Water pressure was quite low. Although this is a Spa Hotel you have to pay for bathing robes, they are not included. At least not in our room category we were told. For swimming in the thermal pool you are required to wear a bathing cap, which you have to pay for, too, as we learned at check-out. I could go on niggling about other small things, but then again it doesn't cost the world. It would have been nice to know about all the additional charges up front, though, since we expected bathing ropes to be included as usual for Spa Hotels. It is a lovely Hotel after all. I'm not sure, if we would come back here, but it sure is a very nice place!

Cons: The quality of the food can be improved. Some of the dishes were tasteless and other overly cooked (the lobster as an example). Noreover the staff is not that friendly. Not all of them but you can perceive there is no harmony among them and particularly the youngest members are a bit mistreated by the older.

Pros: Super hotel, very friendly and helpful staff we checked in so late after 12AM but the staff did their best to accommodate us. the swimming pool is lovely and the rooms are very spacious with the balcony. Also we are allowed to park at front of the Hotel even though it says "No Parking", I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We lost our luggage but one of their staff "Erica" was constantly on the phone with the airport and eventually we collected the luggage without further delays. Erica did everything to get our luggage back, Thank you Erica

Pros: I loved this hotel, personnel was very friendly and helpful. where to start? Check in was very smooth, the hotel has a garage where you can park the car with no issue. The room was very large and comfortable, with a large bathroom. We could access the rooms before the check in time and enjoy the Spa already in the morning. We did not take any Wellness treatment, but we hung out in the big swimming pool, with a tunnel which leads you in the outside in the outdoor swimming pool. The pools are surrounded by water elements to massage and relax.

Cons: Very limited choice of food at the bar near the swimming pool, no choices for lactose or gluten intollerants. The hotel has a restaurant, but we preferred to stay at the swimming pool and eat there.

Cons: We booked our five night stay at this hotel three months before our visit. When we entered our allocated room to our horror 15 meters away was a building under construction so our view was concrete slabs. A depressing start to our visit. We asked to change room which the hotel arranged for additional charges. When speaking to other guests who had the same problem we were told that they were given new rooms for no additional charge. We feel that the hotel should have told us that our room had restricted views either at the time of booking . The room had no amenities , no glasses, no bottled water, breakfast was very poor certainly not what one would expect from 4 star hotel. The pricing level of this hotel does not match the standard of the hotel.

Pros: Clean, cosy room. Very good pools area with mineral water.

Cons: It is less a hotel and more sanatorium for elderly people. P.e. no a la carte reszaurant. If you know it and expect it, you will have excellent stay.
